  1. Hey guys, been looking to get an original USA 1987 pressing of Appetite.  Not the original banned cover though, those are way too expensive.

just curious which pressing is the best as far as sound quality, or does it really matter?  I have noticed on discogs that some lp pressings from usa 87’ are more expensive than others and I assume it’s because some sound better than others?

I'm pretty sure mine is also a club edition, but a different version than yours. Mine has more writing on the label and no barcode on the back. https://www.discogs.com/release/5511959-Guns-N-Roses-G-N-R-Lies

Agreed that AFD isn't worth $80. @chicago appetite your best option is probably getting a repress (like this one) and occasionally checking record stores/fairs or ebay/discogs for a better price on an old copy.

Yeah, I asked if he was set on $80 and he said no way is he taking less lol.  I won’t pay that thiugh

  3. Hey guys, what does “club edition” mean for this appetite vinyl?  I see discogs has that term also.  I found this record in mint condition with ghs24148.  Just want to make sure it’s an original pressing.  It’s not the original original with the original album cover though.

this guy is asking $80 but I think it’s high

It's one of the more common repressings:

If you can find that for the same price or cheaper than the 2018 remaster, go with that one. Your UYI II might be a back to black pressing, they're pretty common.

Very cool, thanks.  What does the 2018 remaster go for?

If it says "elephant gives birth to midget" on the front artwork it's a later pressing.   Earlier pressings say "Ladies, welcome to the dark ages."

Also, some overseas copies apparently have the chick's nipples uncensored on the inner sleeve, but the puritan Americans can't handle nips so there's a big black bar across them.

You gotta check the bar codes and matrix etchings to be sure of what you've got.  Matrix etchings are the numbers and codes (sometimes phrases) that are etched right into the vinyl nearest the center hole.

I have the nipples shown on the inside sleeve but unfortunately the cover doesn’t have the original words that you mentioned.

The "back to black" ones are fine, I'd recommend that 2008 pressing of AFD over the 2018 remastered version (I haven't heard the 2022 UYI albums yet).

Discogs will usually give you all the info you want about when your copies were pressed, but if your copy of Lies says "wife beating has been around for 10,000 years" and "ladies, welcome to the dark ages" on the cover it's from '88.

Hey there, what do you mean by “back to black one”?

I just checked and I don’t see any of what you said on my lies lp, I’m super bummed now.  I was hoping it was an original pressing

  7. hello to all, my wife picked up uyi 2 from a record store while on vacation with some of her friends.  its not an original pressing, as it looks immaculate.  i also have a lies lp that i got from a friend about 20yrs ago.  i am not sure how to tell when these lps were produced either.

my question for you guys is if any of the gnr reissued vinyls are good?  im brand new to vinyl and getting ready to buy a turntable so i just wanna know if i should stay away from any reissued vinyl from gnr specifically.  im sure the lps that have come with the appetite and the new uyi box sets are good though.  i am not sure how to tell when these lps were produced either.

anyone have experience with any gnr lps?

  8. i just noticed but that link you sent is a different picture.  the clarity isn't the same as the one i posted and its cut off.  i know I'm being picky but the one i posted is from here

only problem with this one is its too small, its only 11x17 in

Found this one on ebay, not sure the size you're looking for but it seems to be available in three different sizes http://www.ebay.es/itm/Poster-Guns-n-Roses-Musica-cod-3013-/182326603997?hash=item2a738330dd:g:q2oAAOxyhlJRcQE9

Nice video, by the way. I always found Izzy's part on Brownstone so amazing!

thanks man but i don't want the one that says guns n roses across the top.  the one i posted is the exact one I'm looking for.  thanks for the comment on the video too.  i agree, izzy has some really really cool parts that complimented slash so well too.

  10. Hey guys, i am a guitar player and just finished rehabbing a home studio and want to buy this guns n roses poster and have it custom framed but I'm having trouble actually finding the poster.  i found one but its a really small size.

here is a link to my first youtube video pre rehab on my studio.  i recorded izzys track for mr brownstone.  first video so i am still working things out.  studio looks totally different now too.

i know this is in the wrong area but I'm not sure where else to put it.

  11. I was at both shows and they had only the 300 and 400 level only on the north side of the stadium blocked off and everything else was pretty damn full.  I'm not sure how many were at the first night but the second was still a great amount of people.  i was worried that there would be less but it was still pretty full.

i must say that i enjoyed the second show much better though.  partially cause i had much better seats and i went with my best friend (went with the wife the first night and she doesn't know the gnr catalog but whats played on the radio) and we sang the lyrics to every song like mad men lol

i will say that they were the best shows i have ever been too, the energy can't be explained.  considering axis age he sounds great, period and end of sentence.  the man is 54, come on guys.  once your there and in the moment, the band sounds fantastic.

with as great of a time that i had, it was still bitter sweet without the original 5.  i honestly never thought they would get back if it was not the original 5 and the fact there has been no talk from slash and others about what the hell happened with izzy and steven infuriates me.  that melissa reese really really fuckin irritates me too, why the fuck is she there.  its really stupid to me.

i love fortus as a player but he doesn't belong there, thats izzys spot and nobody will ever change my mind about that.  same goes for frank on drums too, thats stevens spot.  i really was a lil down when they play double talking jive, that izzys song man.  just felt so wrong without him and steven there.  but at the same time it was so awesome seeing slash and axl together lol.  a very bitter sweet two shows for me.  all that march being sold with the appetite skeletons and the original 5 on em really pisses me off too.

to end i will say that this to me still isn't gnr and never will be without the original 5 but 3/5 is better than 1/5 lol.

I have a video from the show during the seeker that i would like to post but its not working for me.
