First post back in a long long time, hello everyone. I do prefer Monsters to The General.
If you told me back in 2004 that it would take until 2023 to actually hear "The General" finally....- 4

"I'M NEVER GONNA WORK ANOTHER DAY IN MY LIFE!" \m/
-
Saw them in London when Rage Against The Machine held that free concert for getting to #1 in the UK charts, can't say I was impressed :/
-
Been meaning to go for ages, now finally doing it! Only like 5 weeks away as well .
We're not camping however, staying at Park Plaza in Nottingham and travelling back and forth, everyone else camping? -

Who's going? My 1st yr, should be about 6/7 of us going, can't wait! -
Never heard of them but the name is something that my other half shouted a lot at Mexicans in Tijuana last year.
Ha ye, the name is very tongue in cheek

Some awesome hard rock/alternative music from my part of the woods, leave some feedback below if you can, cheers! -
For me, the verses in Scraped are quite good, however the chorus and intro (that they have on CD) are horrible. As though they put effort into the verse but just gave up on a main hook for the chorus. shame
-
Heard the intro in a teaser, and didnt believe it was real tbh (thought it was crap in all honesty)
Then when the verse leaked I was bowled over, was totally in love with it. Had full version on repeat for weeks! To this day, my only problem with it is after the "...I only wanted you to see things for yourself" part, where it breaks down, and had the "bubbling" noise, that Bumble now slides over. Thought the song lost all momentum at that point, shame.
Love Finck's outro solo however. To me, along with TWAT solo & IRS scream, its one of the highlights of the album -
finding vids on Vimeo, all the YouTube vids seem to have been taken down already
-
Watched the IRS video again, absolutely LOVE it when Axl comes back in after the mellow solo with "I bet you think I'm doing this all for my health..." (think these are the lyrics ). Ferocious \m/! Spine tingles every time.
-
I believe its an homage to Mick Mars (Motley Crue)
-
I think its the best recording of the (newer) band live, but axl's voice was better in other years. For example, IRS seemed solid and heavy, havent heard the band sounding as good on that song at any other gig. Brain and Tommy are really driving the song \m/
-
must be 02, Finck's hair wasnt like that in 06That's on tour, in the UK. Possibly when GN'R rocked Leeds in 2002 or when the band warmed up for their European tour in Dublin '06.

Hey, hopefully staying in NYC for a week between Mid-May to Mid-June time, hoping to catch a gig or 2 (Rock or Metal preferably), but not seeing anything on Live Nation or Ticketmaster. Tried checking specific venues (The Garden, Best Buy Theater, etc) but nothing showing up there either. Too early to be checking? Bad time of year? Any other avenues I should be trying? Cheers
-
any reports on the voice? compared to acoustic shows recently?
-
who sang? or was it instrumental?
-
"Really enjoyed watching Axl on Jimmy Kimmel made me happy to see him happy and having fun."
Nice
Can't wait to watch it, slept in and missed the live feed (think I needed to be up about 6am my time). Thanks for posting the links guys, regardless
Found it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkGH5Ypmbis

I know it will be up eventually but still, would want to watch it live/when it first airs
-
wish there was a way of watching it live from the UK ;(
-
Awesome, can't wait. Will be on here reading live updates and awaiting footage
-
"the video is shit", "its not in sync" lol.
its a standard music video made of clips from touring and rocking out on stage. only some of the footage is them performing the actual song, coz it doesnt have to fit exactly, its a montage!! haha dont get the fuss tbh, its a basic introduction of the then current line-up to a general audience. what were people expecting? seriously? i reckon its ideal, just cant understand why its never been released though *shrugs*
-
Why is this still open? seriously?
Posters who are MIA? 🤔😫😩

Decided to pop my head in after a good few years away. Lurked a good while before joining in 04 even. Used to check this forum daily back then, fond memories of staying up to read show updates, particularly the Hammerstein 06 shows, the leaks had just come out, Axl had appeared on Trunk with Baz and Jericho, and we still didnt know who replaced Buckethead until the show started!
I definitely romanticised the whole CD era/material, and material, knowing there was multiple albums worth ready to be released, news wise we clung to absolute scraps for a good while, so you had to imagine what was in the vault was surely worth it.
To think now in Nov 2023...we've finally heard the fabled The General
