They turned off comments lmao
Comments are automatically turned off on all YouTube-generated "art tracks" and have been for several months. This isn't a GNR thing, but a YouTube thing.
For example, the art track for November Rain also has comments turned off:

This is a lot, lot better than I was expecting. I absolutely hated the original Silkworms and this is at least listenable. Slash's guitar work really improved the song.

NHL player Jay Harrison on Chinese Democracy:
Harrison’s all-time favorite is Guns N’ Roses, saying it was the iconic rock group that inspired him to begin playing guitar. He loves all the band’s work, even Chinese Democracy, an album that might have had the longest gestation of any in history and failed to live up to the hype. The critics were lukewarm about it, many calling it a multi-million dollar dud.“The hype was that it was going to be the best record of all-time,” Harrison says. “Imagine facing that down and (front man Axl Rose) still put it out and I give him a lot of credit for that. He said, ‘This is what I’ve done and I’m proud of it. This is my record.’ That was ballsy.”
Living up to the hype is something Jay Harrison has a certain familiarity with. Like Axl Rose, he faced it down and here he is. And he’s all right with that.

I prefer Appetite for Democracy simply because I'm obsessive over sound quality and Use Your Illusion sounds absolutely terrible. The mix is so flat and lifeless.
To me, it's like asking whether I'd listen to Chinese Democracy or listen to a seventh-generation casette copy of Appetite for Destruction that has been sitting out in the sun for twenty years. Appetite is better, but at some point the quality takes over.
UYI really sounds that bad. The drums make me want to die.

Why is this thread bumped?
Ridiculous...
I was hoping someone could bring me up to speed on the new songs that were played and the rest of the exclusive news that was supposed to be revealed.
They played a 14-minute "My World" remix featuring Shaq and Nicolas Cage during which Slash's effigy was burned. They then attempted a cover of "Smoke On The Water" but Ashba screwed up the opening riff and had to restart seven times. Axl got bored waiting for Ashba to figure it out and proceeded to open a family size bag of Cheetos, devour it all and smear the cheese residue all over his body. He became so bloated that he could no longer move and had to finish the show lying on his back. Dizzy Reed's daughter was introduced as the new lead guitarist of GnR, replacing Bumblefoot, who had been bludgeoned to death by Beta the night before. Slash's effigy was burned a second time. Duff officially replaced Tommy Stinson on bass, but quit after he realized that the legendary Chinese Democracy material was simply too complicated and advanced for him to handle.
I think that covers everything.

That was not good. I'm glad he's getting himself out there, but eugh. How would anyone know that was Axl Rose in that video?
That's a really good point. I wonder how many people will watch this and have no idea who the old guy in the disguise is.
Axl Rose fans are the only ones who will make it two minutes into this video.

A trusted source informed me that Ron is less bloated and in a good mood.

That "Prostitute" is definitely from the 4th. The reactions at the beginning are the same as in the other video.

Does he still list every Guns album on his website under 'Discography'?
Yeah. And "Perfect Crime" autoplays on his tour dates page....

Duff was out since the start of the show

Cell phone camera adds ten pounds too. Less bloated in person.
Cell phones really don't capture what a good mood Axl is in. Or his jokes. I wouldn't be surprised if cell phones were a vast conspiracy spearheaded by $lash to make Axl look bad.

That 'OKAY, NEVERMIND!!' never became a permanent interlude of Street of Dreams.
Explain this one, please?
-
"We have five hours of material. We don’t follow a setlist, ever. We all know the songs and Axl will call out the next song and the lighting and sound guys need to be on their games. It’s always a reckless rock ’n’ roll experience."

I hope that this interview was done through e-mail and that he didn't really say "lol" outloud.

To Kevin's credit, he does seem to be listening to the comments/criticism. I think this whole shebang could've went
over better had the Kickstarter been set up better from the get-go though. He has added a lower priced CD at $50 and
even a vinyl package.
I think the project is ambitious to the point where it's unrealistic.
This whole thing is centered around a physical product that you can see, touch, own. It's a very noble prospect, but it's 2014. This would have worked much better as a primarily digital release.
$20 000 isn't going to happen. There are much smarter, cheaper ways to get this out a lot faster, but if the attitude is "fuck you guys for liking my page and not donating, i'm done" after two days instead of "what can we change to make this a realistic project", then yeah, it's never going to see the light of day.
it seems he's trying to recoup some of the money he's already sunk into this project than actually fund the release. it's already been recorded (obviously) and, according to him, mixed and mastered. 20,000 to press CDs? how many trillion CDs is he pressing? christ. i know of bands starting from scratch with similar funding goals.
not to mention the perks are absurd. $50 if you want any actual music? that's $10 per song. other bands will give you the whole album for $10, and that's after starting from scratch--not with music that is already completed. almost nobody is going to pay that.

Yep and it's incredibly annoying. They just disabled comments on every auto-generated track earlier this year for no apparent reason.
