  1. In my opinion if you want to gain perspective of how Izzy and Steven were dealt with for the reunion, look up the leaked text messages between Billy and Darcy from the Smashing Pumpkins regarding their recent reunion.  I can just see Duff texting the same stuff to Steven and or Izzy.  Concerns about their ability to play, their health and telling them that they have started to rehearse with Frank and Richard already and that Axl wants to work them in somehow for the fans.

  2. I like your podcast but if I may be constructive, I wish you would follow up more with Alan in this interview.  "Izzy is angry" ok got it.  You never ask why is Izzy angry?  What do you think happned etc.  Listen to how Stern interviews musicians, celebs etc to see what I mean regarding follow up.  I know you want to be delicate but how often do you get info like this out of a guest?  Otherwise I appreciate the podcast and think its good.

  3. I'm the OP and you have a lot of great points.  I'm a huge Axl fan and I liked Chinese just fine.  As a 39 year old dude I simply wanted a full reunion with the songs  I grew up with.  I don't want to see some dude named Frank on drums or a chick with blue hair no offense to them.  I gave it a shot and paid over $500 for the Toronto show and I went in with an open mind but I just wasn't feelin it.  It felt like it was a regrouping.  I'm disappointed that I didn't get what I want.  At the end of the day Axl probably felt that he has more to offer than just a nostolgia trip but the. Why bring back the classic Guns logo if it's not really a reunion?  Also the guns shooting at the beginning of the shows is so retarded especially this day and age with what's going on in the world.

  4. I'm happy that this thread I started got a lot of great responses and traction on here.  After seeing the Toronto show I just couldn't get over the fact that Slash and Duff were reinserted into Axls Chinese Democracy era band playing those songs. I just wasn't into this dude Frank and Melissa playing the old songs with Slash, Duff and Axl either.  I don't care that Slashband Duff were keen to play Chinese songs for me it should have been a proper reunion more to the Roth/Van Halen tour.  Yes it was kid on bass but it still felt good.  I'm so conflicted that I wasn't into the show that much because this is/was my band.

  5. I have to say for some reason I didn't enjoy myself as I wanted to.  I'm not sure why? I was so pumped for this for a very long time.  I guess in the end I wanted a full reunion with Izzy and Steven and or Matt.  It's so Easy and Brownsrone had me jacked but once I heard Slash play Chinese I just wasn't into it.  I enjoyed myself and I was sitting very close but I felt that it was a cash grab and not a lot of interaction between the guys.  The songs sounded fine.  Axls voice was fine.  I don't know what it was.  I think it has to do with me playing it up so big.  Maybe it was the skydome and me being 39 and Ina different phase of my life.  I'm not upset about spending $500 for two Tix.  I'm glad I went for sure but I'm not jacked as I thought I would be.  The setlist had everything I wanted to hear bout it also had a lot of stuff I didn't.  Chinese songs are a buzzkill and so are the jams and covers.  They could have played more Classic tunes from when Slash and Duff were actually in the band.  Or they could have just played for 2 hrs.  The show felt really long with too much bullshit.  Sorry of I'm being a hater I'm just saying how I felt.  Guns is/was an obsession for me and I'm kind of questioning why I didn't get the feeling that I wanted to.  I felt I had a better time in 2002 seeing Axl after all those years.  I'm chalking it up to putting unrealistic expectations.  The band did sound fine.

  6. Would love to have been a fly on the wall.  Just got to show that Axl is the boss.  I'm sure Axl insisted that they keep the Chinese songs to maintain this era wasn't a failure.  Also I'm sure Axl wanted to make sure that this was seen as Slash and Duff coming back and not a reunion with the original group.  I'm just bummed I'm going to the show tonight and hearing Chinese songs that have nothing to do with Slash.  Put a couple of illusion songs in there and maybe move to the city or something like that.  Why did Slash have to compromise?

  7. I think the podcast really lacks  a lot of substance.  They really didn't ask Bozza anything really. For such huge motley and guns fans they asked the guy nothing in depth at all.  How about asking, how did the reunion happen? What have you heard in terms of how axl and slash started talking again? Why wasn't there a full reunion with the appetite lineup etc.  These guys have great voices that's a plus for a podcast.
