  1. Wish it was completel but parenting sometimes come first!

Loved your review....Magic Night wasn't it

Hope your daughter is alright now?

Thanks a million! It was great. Crowd were in great form too. No booing at all. Normally people boo before they go on stage!

She is alright...A little ou of it the next day but after 24 hours she was fine......Blasting Use your Illusion II in her room if I remember right.

As for the booing there was abit of that post 10 O'clock but it was more tongue in cheek (a way of re-inactting the last O2 gig) but the heart wasn't in it...99.5% of people wanted a good gig and went home happily with the knowledge they had witnessed a great one. I've watched a fair view clips from the Youtube just to see what I missed......And I missed dome very special moments.

I think GnR O2 Dublin 2012 will be remembered for all the right reasons unlike 2010

  2. Thanks Scaranouche. Shame I didn't realise you were going, we could've said hi! I just read your review it was really cool. Agree on Thin Lizzy. Weren't they fab?

One question. How early did you have to queue to get to front center? How rough is it? I was on the front right (first time standing) and I survived!

Because Axl didn't move as much as usual due to his leg, I felt I didn't see him that much :( It seemed like he only sang in front of us a few times :(

Nice pics Hejanne and thanks for the recording Jfrost.

  3. First off I have to say, that unlike many folk here I wasn't a big GnR fan (sorry)

Since a very young age my daughter (she is 10 now) has liked the finer things in life...AC/DC, Big Motorbikes, Big Boots and Guns n Roses.

So when the chance came to give her a wee thank you gift, I thought I could put up with a night of Axl and friends .... yes I was one of those that didn't really know the story but had made up my mind that this wasn't Guns and Roses.

So you know where I stand.

Post gig...I've bought the Mike Hall biography of Axl (Don't spoil the ending for me), GnR Lies, Ill 1 & 2, and Chinese Democracy.

I've watched the Hall Of Fame Intro on the YT and have to say that the true Guns n Roses were in Dublin on the 17 May 2012

The show was mad !! And listening back, on that which I recorded, it was excellent but on the night I had the one thing in my mind ...Axl needs a new Sound Engineer.

He has some very talented musicians on that stage so there is no need to turn it up to 11, check out the poor audio for Axl on Chinese Democracy, and why have keyboards on stage if the are buried in the mix.

But due to the noise I had to leave early but I have to say that the performance on the stage was out-standing. Thanks Axl....Thanks Guns 'n' Roses

  4. Hey, thanks, great quality! Did you record the whole set? Do you have TWAT recorded too?

    Unfortunately no!!!!

Was a night out with my 10 year old daughter and she asked to leave during "Another Brick in the Wall" as her head was aching. The decibel level was more then she is used too!!!

She loves her GnR and AD/DC.

I intend to up that which I have tomorrow in Flac but I have to go to a cafe as I have next to Zero speed at home.

Glad you like the quality.....the rest is pretty much the same and playing away in the background here

  5. Awesome show last night....but I had to leave early...During "Another Brick in the Wall" as my daughter's head was been blown away (she is just 10 so give her a break guys)......but while there I recorded what I heard and it hasn't come out to bad.

Should I up this incompete Audio (Flac) or is there news of another recording appearing???

If I'm to up it it will be available tomorrow afternoon (slow connection)

    Here is a 320kbps sample.....Richard Fortus Solo

Ps. Axl's vocals were outstanding.. IMO

  6. Last time I brought my son (8 at the time), so went for seats. we were there from after 8pm, so by the time they had played the first few songs he was ready for bed. luckily my wife was up with us and staying in the Gibson hotel next door, so she picked him up and I headed back in. I think on top of the tiredness he got a bit frightened by all the booing and s**t. So I'd advise that you don't go in too early. But anyway hopefully we will either get an expected start time this time around or at the very least MCD will let us know in advance that there will be no curfew and that the car parks will stay open. If I remember rightly the o2 in London did something like this just after the Dublin show, where they had signs up everywhere saying that they would stay open till after the concert and that there would be late transport. I'm staying in the Gibson again, so don't mind too much. But I know it was a problem for some last time. So come on GNR & MCD, please get together and either state the start time or at let us all know it if it's a late start that there will be no curfew or car park closure. A few simple steps will allay all concerns and make for a more enjoyable night for all fans.

BTW some hotel booking sites have the Gibson fully booked or at €250 a night. I got a room only for €88 there this evening with roomex.

    Thanks for the heads up.

My daughter is just 10 and mad in to her music and already well used to going to gigs.

GnR have been a favourite since she was 5, had to change the lyrics for Welcome To The Jungle, when she want to sing it way back then.

But she has been to the O2 a few times for everything from Beyonce to Dolly and from Kylie to Bob Dylan.

Sleep was only a problem at Dolly Parton, but it's not eveyrday you see that sort of legend.

Thanks for the hotel advice but I'm thinking of heading home after and once you get outta the car-park the traffic moves along, shouldn't take to long to get back down the country.

But I've a funny feeling she'll not be a school next day!!!

  7. On the presale I managed to get E tickets.

Love to be on the Floor but I like lose my wee daughter......She actually a bigger Fan then me and she prefers the old GnR rather then the new...wants to read Slash's biography but I'm trying to keep her on the Harry Potters (But Christ they grow up Fast)
