Great I think he did TIL and SOD good at this show. To bad almost all WTTJ was more good that year than the proshot.

Anyone having doubts about Axl's voice should check out these two versions of Shacklers revenge. Both from the same venue, 2 years apart. I chose this song because this is the song that truly made me go "WOW" at axl, both times.

He is identical in his performance, if not even the 2012 performances edging the better. Particularly the chorus. He does seem more energetic in 2010, but vocally, there is not a great difference.

How can u say he is identical here? the 2010 gig he nails the song and sound like Axl! In the 2012 video I personaly think he sounds more like Vince neil (forgive me for saying this..)....

What is different in this version? I think it sounds like the same, maybe a litle more clean sound?

Indeed Axl's voice has been a mistery for the last 2 years, going from almost unbearable to listen (RIR '11) to almost '10 excellence level during Philly's '12 show, then going up and down all the time troughout the year in an unpredictable manner.

My personal theory is that Axl suffers from some sort of chronic respiratory system disease that affects badly his voice most of the time, hence little power and almost no rasp at most shows. Only something health related imo could affect so severely and fast Axl's voice.

How else would you explain going from this really shitty 'mickey mouse at its best' voice in the House of Blues @19th Feb '12 then just a few (8) days later in Philly @27th Feb '12, turning crazy good!?

Will Axl ever be able to recover his voice to Philly's shape again?

I think this shows exactly my point: Axl choose to sing without rasp for some unknown reason most of the time the last years.

But..., then I dont understand why he don't give 100% on shows he knows will be filmed and aired, like the Vegas 12 dvd. There I think he sounds as bad as he did in 01/02.

I think its also easy to see the difference in his energy level on performances where he use rasp contra this "mickey mouse" performances last years.

He is a strange guy Axl, my hero. I wish he could talk about this and explain whats goin' on. Im sure he will, at some moment, come back with the 2010 energy.

But this is very sad. As far as I understood people say this was one of the best shows from 2012, at least one of Axl's best shows... What happend to my hero? He sounds so weak, seems like he have no controll over his voice at all. I will analyze this concert and come back with a more efforded reviewe on this recroding.

But really, I also think he usually looked cool exept the period 2001 - 2007.

They should edit in his 2010 voice. I know I'll get flamed for saying this, but I think it's a mistake to release something with Axl not in top vocal form.

I totaly agree about this. I love Axl but this is not good enough for an realese in my opinion. He sounds terrible. And i think it sounds like he try to sing powerful, but his voice is just not there..

For me its no doubt, Axl in his heydays was, by far, the greatest and most powerful frontman ever walked this planet.

He was so powerfull and had an extreme control over his voice we really havent seen sience the 80¨s.

Axl shows he is 100% real and does what he feel to do.

With Axl its no bullshit, and it seems like he is still active because he want to play with the new guys, not because he have to make money.

I love Axl and this just gives me more respect for the man.
