Everybody can have a bad day at work. All in all the 2010-2012 shows have received mostly great reviews, and the reviews from the recent UCAP tour have been splendid with Axl getting high praise for his performances. It's okay to be critical of Axl for all his faults and flaws, but be mature enough to give praise where praise is due and refrain from stupid potshots.

Axl could avoid having any bad days if he put in preparation. That is my only criticism. I don't believe he should be using shows on tour to 'warm up'.

Well if you want to point to a paragraph where Axl specifically focusses anger or anything on Slash, it's not there. I doubt Axl would be that stupid to do that. If you can read between the lines you don't need Axl feeding you why exactly he isn't going. Everybody knows 99% of the issue with the HOF is purely because Slash will be there. To think otherwise isn't being realistic.

I think it has a lot to do with Matt being inducted, with Steven running his mouth off, with HOF not recognizing the current lineup, with Duff and Slash trying to force Axl to play, and Slash being there.

Axl has a lot of hate for Matt because he is in camp Slash (like the rest of the world...oh except Beta and his NuGuns). So, it comes back to Slash anyway you look at it.

What kind of twisted mind would even expect the new band to have anything to do with the induction. 1 album in 20 years, and a revolving door band. Fact of the matter is that Old guns were revolutionary. Nuguns have done nothing and are nothing. Whether you think they are a cool band or not doesn't change the fact that they are meaningless to the music industry today. They are touring musicians. Nothing else. I'm not trying to flame them, that's just the truth. They are allowing Axl to tour the brand Guns N' Roses. If one of them leaves, they are quickly replaced by another pro musican with equally no personality.

I agree that it is possible that Adler is dumb enough to come out and talk shit even if he didn't know what Axl had in mind. I just don't think that's the case in this situation. Especially because Slash came out just after saying "Axl hates my guts" etc. I personally believe word got to them both that it wasn't happening and Adler came out swinging. Slash, gave a more subtle hint that it wasn't going to happen.

The biggest problem is when you hold that much anger for someone, it's stops you from living life and doing the things you like to do and should be doing. If you hold a ball under water it will take both of your hands to do it. The problem is now all your energy is being used up to hold the ball under the water, now you can't swim. Let the fuck go of the hate and swim away. This is not very healthy to harbor this shit for ever. At some point you die and fine out you wasted half of your life. Talk to someone that can help, so you can get this shit of your back and start to breath again.

Marc you have said a number of times now and in tha past that Axl should get therapy to let go of his anger against Slash and I do see how that could benefit him. It's not about Slash, but about helping Axl get to a more peaceful place. But letting go of anger does not mean reforming some sort of relationship with Slash. Axl can be content in his decision to not have any relationship with Slash. It is okay to plan to never see someone again and decide it is best for your own life to make that decision. It seems like Axl is comfortable with that decision.

His letter focussed more on why his attending HOF was not a good choice for him. Although referenced, Slash did not seem to be the focus of this reasoning.

I don't see where Marc is saying Axl needs to have any sort of relationship with Slash. What is perfectly clear is, Axl needs to seek some help to get rid of this shit. It's not good for anyone's soul to hold on to so much hate for so long.

Yes, and most people agree with you, me included. I actually think Axl wanted to attend and planned so from the beginning. But then Steven opened his mouth pissing Axl off by attacking the current lineup. And then Slash and Duff clearly stated their desire to play and thus implied that no show would be Axl's fault, meaning that there would be no way Axl could show up without playing and not be the big, bad guy. If Steven could have kept his mouth shut, and Slash and Duff didn't so explicitly say they would play if it was up to them, I actually think there would have been a fair chance of Axl attending. I am not saying Axl is right not to attend, just explaining what I perceive to be his reasons for choosing not to.

In addition you have his obvious beef with the HOF committee which presumably arises from Matt being inducted while not acknowledging the current lineup to the extent Axl would have wanted.

He's been talking rubbish about new tracks and recording and this and that for years, but it's never in the past tense, as in we've recorded this, or we've done that. Now I'm more than happy to listen to some of his works or contributions to GNR, but only after all the ChiDem material has been released. Secondly there is no need for DJ to add his stamp on these songs. As most are thinking here even though we havn't heard them, they are not his songs. Heck he can't even do the TIL solo properly and had to even state he changed it to add his flair! That leaves things rather awkward to be releasing another album with very few of the current members having played/recorded on it, but that's what needs to happen. Release CD2/CD3 and 6 months later release a new album written and played by the current members of GnR. Then DJ can shine or diaf.

I'm sick of hearing from this guy, and as someone said he doesn't seem to know his place. He's appears to be sucking up to the teacher or wanting to be teachers pet or something. I have a feeling this won't end well for him in the long run and or will piss off the other band members. What this tells me is even if he's heard all the unreleased CD material, he's in this for himself and thus is pushing his shit rather than being a member of a team. It matters not if Bucket/Robin/Brain are not in GnR anymore. They are part of GnR history and the founding stones of ChiDem. And all the current guys play CD tracks at shows anyway.

GnR management, if you are reading this please to heavens' sake keep DJ teathered. Let the CD2/CD3 material come out as it was recorded. Then close the Chinese Democracy chapter. Create a new one with new material and we'll all be happy. But if you don't release the CD2/CD3 material and instead we get a record full of DJ junk, even the most hardcore dedicated fans who have stayed loyal and supportive for decades are going to bail. DJ is tolerated but is not loved or adored like Bucket and Robin are, and there's a good reason for that. They both contributed to GnR, whereas DJ seems to be using GnR for his personal gain, and or attempting to make it his band. That's only my personal opinion and no doubt other respected members here will agree to disagree. But I know I'm not alone in my thinking here.
