Yes, Axl did sing better, but a board recording will expose a lot more detail, and depending on how it is mixed and how dry the vocals are, can sound much worse than what is recorded coming from the PA mains. That's not a dig on Axl, just a fact of live sound...

I think the vocals sounded worse at Rio because it was pro shot, and the sound is mixed and recorded from isolated mixing board sends where all of the nuances are captured, rather than an audience recording a mixed blend coming from the PA mains...which is much more forgiving. Then throw in a worse than normal performance, and there you have it...

A long tour takes it's toll on the voice...especially when you're not 20 anymore.

I really doubt his vocal performance issues are due to boredom...even if he was bored, I don't think his ego would allow him to be delivering subpar performances which will be preserved forever on youtube...along with all the negative comments... 

Guys, I don't think it's for lack of trying, I just think he is having issues, probably due to age and the mileage over the last 2 years. He should minimize the running around when he is struggling too...it couldn't hurt.

1- neither of the three wants adler involved in a more important role

2- at least TWO of them doesnt want a more involved adler.

Just accept the fact that they are ALL pretty confy with mr ferrer for a lot of reasons beyond music.   JUST MOVE ON ALREADY and enjoy this golf page in music history. 

I'll believe it's a true partnership when they pull out Slither at a gig...I know Duff and Slash would love to play it.

I was at the Phx show...all I can say is that I loved it...they gave it their all, no phoning it in for sure!!

I suspect they are testing the waters and easing in Steven, to make sure he can handle the big gigs without injury or relapse...then gradually increase the AFD duties. I don't see Frank going away though.

Unless it's my stream, it sounds like they are having some major sound issues with the PA system

It's possible he has just mellowed with age, or maybe he finally got the right combination of meds...a former band member of mine used to also have what one could call a "difficult" personality, and recently his doctor got him on a combination of meds that seems to work for him...really nice guy now

Most people (non hardcore fans) consider this tour as a reunion, many probably assume it is the infamous AFD lineup...others just don't care and just want to hear the hits. This is the world we live in, and why bands like Foreigner still do well on the road...

Well, Foreigner isn't dead, and they tour with zero original members for most shows...
