  1. A little off-topic but Slash has some beautiful Les Pauls.  He has been using a new one this tour a AAAA flamed maple cherry burst with a little red by the control knobs it also has a dark back.  I love Les Pauls they are stunning pieces of artwork and craftmanship its just a shame I can never buy one due to the price.

It's what all the stalkers have caused now - making everyone on the property paranoid... :nervous:

I think its the price of fame.  You can get some people who go really crazy and obsess about a 'celebrity' where they are basically stalking the person.

Its a downside of someone who didnt want to be famous but wanted to be the best damn rock n roll singer around and I totally get these peoples perspective when it comes to the need for safety, privacy and security.  There can be some really mentally unwell people around.

Surely not. But why the hell would he go on a solo tour and play the songs he plays all the time with GNR instead some of his (and the other member's) own? Doesn't make any sense at all. People who want to hear GNR songs should go there, people who want to hear SMKC songs will go there. Should he get kicked out or leave GNR again, it would make sense for more GNR songs to creep back in, as the SMKC gigs will be the only ones he's doing and the only place you can hear GNR songs with Slash.

Yeah I doubt theres anything to do with contracts.  Slash probobly feels and reasonably so that GNR songs have been played pretty heavily on tour around the world the last few years so mix it up a little and play more of his songs.

Pretty much know who’s showing up and who’s not…

    image.thumb.jpeg.811cd44699090c5b3dbe453057389d6e.jpeg

He’s already building up stocks for hiding.

Personally I think this 62 year old man deserves some time of and rest to do whatever he wants I dont think we can criticise him for not doing much hes been pretty much on tour constantly since 2016.  He's not like Slash who lives for touring im sure its just a means to an end but in my opinion he has worked pretty hard.

    Why wouldn't he sign stuff?

Seems a bit miserable, when you've got a fan stood in front of you, not to do that?

His choice of course, and he's not obliged to.....but stuff like that I just don't understand.

I can understand this point of view but they need to make money and put food on the table for the family.  Also yeah they think everything will just end up on ebay so they are just giving fans the money when the artist could be the one making the money instead.

Its just the modern world these days isnt it money makes the world go around and to be honest if my signature could make me money I would want to monetise it so you buy meet n greets to get signatures.  Its similar to wrestlers in their world they too are reluctant to sign random things in random situations.

    1. The Pusher (feat. Chris Robinson) -> Orig Hoyt Axton, done by Nina Simone, Blind Melon
    2. Crossroads (feat. Gary Clark Jr.) -> Orig Robert Johnson (Cross Road Blues), done by Clapton, Elmore James
    3. Hoochie Coochie Man (feat. Billy Gibbons) -> Orig Muddy Waters (written by Willy Dixon), done by Clapton, BB King, Allman Brothers Band, Buddy Guy...
    4. Oh Well (feat. Chris Stapleton) -> Orig Fleetwood Mac, done by Jimmy Page & the Black Crowes, Tom Petty, Deep Purple
    5. Key to the Highway (feat. Dorothy) -> Blues traditional? Done by BB King, Clapton, Buddy Guy, Little Walter, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Rolling Stones and basically everybody and their momma
    6. Awful Dream (feat. Iggy Pop) -> Orig Lightning Hopkins? I don't know this one
    7. Born Under a Bad Sign (feat. Paul Rodgers) -> Another blues traditional? Most famous by Albert King I guess? Also recorded by Etta James
    8. Papa Was a Rolling Stone (feat. Demi Lovato) -> Orig Undisputed Truth, made famous by The Temptations, also done by Black Crowes
    9. Killing Floor (feat. Brian Johnson) -> Orig Howlin Wolf, also an early live staple for Hendrix and Zeppelin iirc
    10. Living for the City (feat. Tash Neal) -> Orig Stevie Wonder?
    11. Stormy Day (feat. Beth Hart) -> Is this (Call It) Stormy Monday by T-Bone Walker?  If so also done by Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Allman Brothers Band
    12. Metal Chestnut -> An original?

Classic blues songs covered by Slash and some renowned guest appearences I think this will be a really good listen.

  7. Would have liked to have gone see them since I've never seen them live but in this economic climate I can't afford it.  Sucks to be me i guess.

I doubt I could afford to go and see GNR either this year times are real tough right now.

I think its safe to say Guns will probably be dormant all of 2024, which is probably bad news for an album. I can see Slash doing a 3rd US leg in the fall if Guns doesn't pick back up at all. That man never stops... April is going to be crazy for a 58 year old slash... Multiple countries in multiple days??? GNR don't do that shit lmao. Slash just doesn't stop, who knows he and MK might write an album while on the road in that time.

It will be interesting to see if Duff does something else.. I totally expect him to. Which pretty much makes GNR laughable as a music making entity at that point.

Slash recently has always been very vocal of how much he enjoys touring its his favourite aspect of being in the music industry.  Multiple countries in multiple days is gonna be much easier for a non singer especially since he is sober now I bet keeping busy helps him stay sober too so good for him.  There are still many years of life ahead of him now he is sober which is great for us fans a healthy, happy and very much alive slash is good for us all.

"She’s also seeking a court order “declaring her the sole owner” of all the photographs she took since 2010 when she wasn’t working under a written contract with GnR."

Wow. How sick is that? First she gets paid to do the work, travels the world in luxury, many times over, while fans get fleeced left and right (and basically finance the whole thing) and in the end she claims sole ownership of the photos she was paid to do?!?

You have no idea how much she was paid.  Since she was living this life of luxury as you say perhaps this was considred the payment but since there was no written agreement then nobody knows.

Yay, my first Guns show! I was blown away by how charismatic Axl is in person, I was mesmerized :)

I remember seeing youtube vids from GNRs show at the ritz and then some UYI world tour shows especially Paris 92' and I was blown away not only was Axl the best RnR singer around but in my opinion one of the greatest frontmen of all time top 3, easily.

ill nino only ones ive heard of they had a rocker of a song in the early 2000s called 'what goes around' listened to that often.

Duff wants to tour off his new album and Slash is going back to Miles Kennedy and that band.

Axl will probably take a long vacation.

Maybe a new album will come sometime next year.

I read John 5 thinks Motley Crue and GNR should tour together. Guess he doesn't know the history of these two bands. Anyway, who would headline GNR will want to headline. I know MC and DL both changed off.  I doubt this will ever happen. lol

I do hope either next year or 2025 GNR comes back to Dallas TX.  I know next year a lot of bands Iron Maiden and The Scorpions are having huge tours.

Guns will not open for Motley there is no doubt about that maybe if they were to get a bigger split of the money then perhaps they would but no I dont see a joint tour happening at all.  Motley need it more than Guns at this point.

tonight will be very eventful... (with the forum, not the band, 99% this show will be a letdown unless The General is played or Axl somehow regains 2016 rasp)

This isnt directed at you but if your not going there tonight maybe dont call it a letdown before its even happened.  I've read many comments here from people who were surprised how good the band sounded and how the show exceeded their expectations.

Soo funny seeing like the whole of Metallica there, like they turned up for class early! Do they check out the competition as a collective often? Ya, a redemption joint tour would be cool for nostalgia, but don't tell Ax, that'll be his theory to keep the stadiums selling sans album!!

These bands make so much money touring separately they don't need the joint tour to promote ticket sales.  I think most us know that but I also get the idea of another Metallica + GnR tour as being pretty awesome.

Only ACDC made a special effort with the setlist. GnR gave nothing you couldnt get for a third of the price anywhere else and maiden just played their deep cuts thing they've been doing on their tour. Axl is starting to really struggle on most songs now. Brian sadly also sounded his age. thats no criticism, he's mid 70s and trying to sing like brian johnson 30-40. Purely for the 'One more time' aspect it was great to see acdc. But I think it more than confirmed they are done. Axl and ACDC should just be studio bands now.

I hear this alot from many people and it's easy to say but the reality is not that simple.  When performing on stage and singing is someone's livelihood it's what they've been doing all their lives and more than likely they enjoy doing so, it's also how they make money to make things happen in their lives or the people they care about its not that simple.  If people are willing to buy tickets to shows that they can still make money on there's no reason why they can't continue yes there will be a lot of criticism for doing so but I don't think they care nor should they.

At the end of the day who am I to tell someone they should stop doing what they love because its not as good as it used to be.  If there's money out there to be made and they want it I say go for it till you genuinely don't want to do it anymore fuck the haters do what makes you happy.
