  1. Having read so many posts where people were asking for decent video (or any video) of Glad To Be Here, I made a mental note to film the whole thing at Birmingham. I originally posted the video in a new thread but mods buried merged  it into the Birmingham thread :P

  3. First time poster, life long GnR fan. Signed up a couple of weeks ago to research the UK tour (start times, setlist, etc).

Well I've just got back to Exeter after seeing the Birmingham show last night. Great gig, unbelievably we (along with what to me looked like about one third of the crowd) managed to miss the start of CD due to them taking to the stage 'early'! Well earlier than I had predicted based on the other gigs. It was weird, the forum was packed and nobody was in a hurry to get going then there was a sudden rush towards the entrance. I looked at the time (it was 22:20), thought 'shit!' and after waiting for one of our group to come back from the toilet (typical timing!) we filtered in with the rest. We got in to the standing area at 22:27 and Axl was already belting out CD. I was initially a bit annoyed at missing the start but we somehow managed to make our way to about 3 rows from the front, just in front of a group of about 10 lads going crazy (fun crazy, not murderous crazy) and after that my mood improved! I'm not one to force my way through a crowd (does my head in when people push through non-existent gaps) but for some reason the crowd just wasn't that compressed and getting to the front was easy. In 2010 we were about 10 rows back, just behind the mosh but this year we realised it was actually easier to get to the front when people are moshing than if they are static (like so many seem to be). The lads going for it had no problem with us moving past them and we actually spent quite a lot of the gig jumping about with them! We had an awesome view and I got some pretty good pics and video's. I'm uploading the pick of the video's (the much sought after 'Glad To Be Here' and 'Baba O'Riley') to youtube as I type. In the meantime I'll figure out the best way to add some pics on here . . . . . . .

To those of you sitting at home moaning about the set list, I agree with you in some ways, it would be nice if it could have been mixed up a bit (I'm pretty sure it wasn't much different than 2010) but at the same time pretty much everybody on here who actually went to a gig had an awesome time. It's a great show and well worth the entrance fee, surely that's the main thing isn't it?
