You were right! We went back and looked at the timestamp on the pics. I know I looked at my watch at 9:10, so now I wonder what it was that caught my attention then...?? And I guess I was overly generous with the ending time -- that was when we were actually leaving our seats after staying to watch Duff distribute all his picks and show off his Seahawks cap one more time. I edited my original post to prevent any more confusion.

ha! All I had was water. I'm pretty sure it was right after 9:00 when they started, but no, it doesn't really matter.
(But that's the one thing you got out of my whole long post? lol) "Early" -- can we agree on that?

Alright, I know you guys don't know me because I've been primarily a lurker here for years, but I'll post my little review. When the NITL tour started, I watched the streams of the first couple shows and then caught videos here and there, but leading up to this show, I had purposely stayed away from it all because I didn't want to be sitting there all night comparing this show to all the previous ones. I mean, it's not baseball, we don't need stats. I wanted this show to live as its own entity in my mind and memory. So, I don't know how Axl sounded in Houston and I'm ok with that. I do know what he sounded like pre-2016 and I can say that, without a doubt, Axl put Mickey well to rest. Also, I was just amazed at his energy. The man never stops moving (except during NR, of course). Fine, he's got his middle-aged man belly, but he basically just did 2 hours of cardio, WHILE belting the crap out of those songs and not getting winded; I think we can cut him some slack.
The show started at 8:55, for those who wanted to know (and ended at 11:35). I had read a review from SF where the guy was out wandering around the venue and then vaguely wondered why they were playing recorded GNR music right before the show when he realized that they had started early, so we made sure we were in our seats well before time! We weren't in the best seats in the house, but they were pretty good -- about halfway down the field in the front row of the upper deck -- so really, closer to the stage than about half the people on the floor. I always thought ISE was kind of a weird choice to open the show with, but seeing it live changed my mind. Like, there's no easing into it, you're just flung headfirst into the show. Some kind of runaway train. The sound was great and I felt like the mix was good. Sometimes I had to stop myself watching the screens because it started to feel kind of unreal, like I was just watching TV -- watching all the guys moving around on the stage together cured that. Highlights for me were Estranged (it's my hands-down favorite). With all due respect to BBF, it has needed Slash and it was just beautiful. Coma was awesome. Duff's bass just kills me on that one and he owns it live. Personally, I think Axl had one of his strongest endings, too, and the crowd's energy just escalated through it, like we were propelling Axl to a victorious finish and he was pulling us along in a fury. Jungle was strong; OTGM was so fun. I'll probably get skewered for this, but YCBM is one of my least favorite tracks, however, much to my surprise, it comes off much better live, especially now that Axl has rediscovered his voice (there were some truly painful renditions in recent years).
My section was pretty tame. I rocked out as much as I could without getting obnoxious. The guys next to me were among those "teary-eyed middle age white guys" somebody else mentioned. They were loving it, even if they weren't going to get up and dance. When SCOM started, a girl a few seats down from me stood up respectfully like it was the national anthem; didn't move at all, just stood there and quietly sat down when it was over. haha I guess we all have our own way to enjoy GNR. I sang along to everything (yes, even The Seeker, so sue me) except CITR because... I didn't even recognize it. lol Not until almost the very end of it at which point I was kinda like, "Huh. Weird." The CD songs are kind of take-it-or-leave-it for me, especially the ones they choose to play. Of the four, I'd say TIL is my favorite. I liked Duff's backing vocals on CD, though. And seeing Duff get back to his Seattle punk rock roots on Attitude was fun!
Other thoughts/memories:
- The traffic cop between Safeco and CenturyLink was telling everybody to have a good time; I thought it was cool and wondered if he secretly wished he could go, too
- Axl introduced Melissa (wearing a Sonics shirt) as "Another one of your own" which elicited a few more feeble courtesy cheers. I kinda felt bad for her, but I suppose she's used to getting less applause than the other guys.
- Hearing Axl say, "Slash" without anything else following it is kind of surreal and I'm not even a Slash fan.
- And, not being a Slash fan, he has my mad respect. It was something else when the cameras would zoom in on his fingers. My thought was, it'll be a sad world if he ever gets arthritis.
- The Slash-Richard guitar duel/duet was cool. I know some people get bored during the solos and instrumental stuff (additional thought: very glad there's no drum solo), but this was neat
- I realized that Axl and Slash's copious amount of bracelets is more than just looks -- those suckers are freaking rain gutters! The amount of sweat flying off of them is impressive in its own right. Duff does away with pretense and just wears sweat bands, but Duff has got to be the epitome of rocker cool so he elevates those sweat bands to a whole new level. Now I want to wear sweatbands.
- The show, the whole production, is just fantastic. It's tight, it's well done, just an overall awesome experience.
I've got some pictures and small video clips, thanks to my husband, that I can post with the caveat that 1) we weren't close and 2) he's not a hardcore Guns fan so he chose some odd moments to record.-

I mean it is in his home town, he was the first one to share the design on his Twitter (I believe) and he even said #sonics in his post which means he liked the team. I also think this is the first time we have a core member actually share a litho from this tour so I'm guessing this one means something to him.
I don't know just a thought that I had.
I definitely think Duff had some say in this. Anytime stuff comes up about the Sonics, he's all over it. He was even on some kind of committee or think tank thing for trying to bring the team back. The design may seem an odd choice to non-Washingtonians, but it went over big here last night. Seattle has never stopped loving the Sonics and has never forgiven the ownership for taking away their team. GNR was hitting right in the heart with that design!

Catching up on videos now and I realized that I subconsciously cringe every time I click play on Paradise City, expecting to be assaulted by Mickey. But these last few weeks... whoa, the sense of relief when Axl brings his excellent raspy voice instead! Also, that may have been the fastest PC I've ever heard. Were they cutting it close on their curfew or something?!
(Also also, I definitely needed that to purge that abysmal version by Hole. Gross.)
I never had any ill will towards NuGuns, but maaan, it is just so right seeing Slash and Duff up there. Slash seemed a little off his game last night. Not bad, just a little off occasionally. Still cool having him back. Wondering what his secret is for keeping that top hat on when he's head banging. Staples à la Indiana Jones?

I have all the albums (on cd) besides Live Era, but I don't consider that much of a feat. Dunno whether this is cool or super nerdy, but I figure if anyone else in the world is going to be excited about this besides me, it would be you guys. I make my own GNR stuff. Well, so far it's all Axl-themed, but I've got other things in mind...
My #2 daughter wanted an Axl doll and then #1 daughter wanted one, too, of course. Sweet Child Axl and Paradise City Axl. These were their Christmas presents a few years ago.

And little tattooed arms. The biggest tattoo is the cross at 1.25"; the smallest is the rose at .5"
I made all the kids Axl shirts one year for their birthdays (couldn't just be Guns n' Roses because guns... against school dress code). Can only find pics of two of them.
My favorite thing I've made, though, is my Axl at Rock in Rio blanket. It's about 4.5 ft long. And I sleep with it every night.

I think OP makes a good point. It could have been an issue in the media, but even temporarily handicapped, Axl tore the roof off that place with fantastic support from the band. What they did together kind of erased the presence of the chair.-

They should replace the skeleton sex with x-rays of Axl's foot.
Some of the graphics were ok. The red words flashing through behind Coma (GNR/Duff/Axl/Slash/1989), for example (still trying to figure out the significance of the numbers on the left side. Any ideas? It went so fast that none of them really "stuck.") The falling bullets & rose petals was kind of cool. And any time they used versions of the logo.
The random girl on TIL is confusing (but better than in previous years with the ballet dancers). I agree that a lot of the rest looked like weird screen savers. The heads/skulls mainly. The graphics looked kind of amateur on those.
Were the live dancers out on any other song besides RQ? I never noticed them otherwise. They were easy enough to ignore.
Pyro in and of itself doesn't bug me, but when it feels offbeat or like it causes a drag in the song, then it's annoying and loses its impact. -
I've only just been coaxed out of many years of lurkdom, but I have to say that the atmosphere here has definitely improved in the past couple of months and exponentially this past weekend! I couldn't stay up to watch the streams the other night (I have four little kids who show no mercy), so the day after, I was reading through the threads while watching/listening to Fede's periscope and it was a lot of fun. Made me wish I could have been here to experience it all in real time! Good job, everybody, for keeping it fun!

I agree that Coma is a masterpiece. The ominous opening bass line sets the mood from the get-go. It's unsettling, which is right where you should be, listening to this song. The combination of Axl's lyrics and vocals take you through the whole emotional gamut -- frustration, anger, bewilderment, loneliness, resignation, peace, and the music is the vehicle that transports you through this journey. Then, just when you're lulled into a dreamlike state, you're shocked back alive into that furious ending. It's more than a song, really; it's an experience. So many levels musically, emotionally, lyrically, so much nuance. It's one I can listen to over and over again and not grow tired of because there's always something new to appreciate. I never thought we'd hear it live again, so to see the vids from this past weekend is just incredible.

Man, you guys have got good seats. I'll be up in 312, but I'm just happy to be there! Thanks, @SmackMaster511 for the tip on the parking garage. We usually park out a ways and walk in to Mariners games, so I was wondering what the garage situation at CenturyLink would be like. I kinda hate leaving my car in SoDo that long, but... don't want to sit in the garage for 2 hours, either. Guess we'll walk again and say hi after the show to all the bums sleeping under the overpass.

The topic that finally brings me out of years of lurkdom...
My absolute favorite song is Estranged (I would be shocked if they didn't play it). So many elements to love about that song and to hear Slash reprise his solo would be awesome and I will sob my eyes out at the beauty of it all (I'm just that rock n' roll). On the "Fat Chance Wishlist" is Coma. That would be amazing!
Planning on going to the SEATTLE show! August 12!

Like a lot of you, I really like Dead Horse and Bad Apples. As Len mentioned about BA, the humor in the lyrics makes it fun, but if you pay attention, you're also getting an autobiographical glimpse into their lives. My World I just think is hilarious and I don't mind listening to it at all. Anything Goes...
The lyrics are cringey on that one. I don't think I'd fight a whole lot about the rest of the list; some of those I flat out skip when I'm listening to the cds. Well, Perfect Crime is alright, the music hits hard, it's fun to rock to, but I skip it 'cause I have little kids and I don't want them to have nightmares!
