  1. From asking about it when they meet him, to smiling into the crowd when an individual is singing along...

How do you think Axl feels when he sees, or is in contact with people who genuinely support Chinese Democracy?

Does he think that it's very popular, and he's not surprised that people are interested, or is he genuinely happy, or appreciative, of people's interest and support?

  2. Just listening to the live version there.

I think it has a good bit of potential live. If Axl could nail it down, it'd be a nice aggressive tune.

A bit like how I think Catcher has only come into its own live recently. Early performances below par, but recent ones have made it sound very cool live.

What seems funny though is that many tried, and many failed, to conjure up a decent solo for this song.

  3. We all know how controversial, complicated and surreal being a GN'R fan can be.

But do the politics of this band affect you when listening to the music, or does it all go out the window.

If you're a ''huge Slash fan'' - is listening to post 2000 music and concerts tainted by your so-called ''allegiance'' to Slash?

Likewise is hearing a Slash solo from a GN'R album affected because of Axl being your favourite, and the two not getting on?

  4. Just to chip in on the Hall of Fame thing:

Izzy could well have expressed initial thoughts regarding not attending the event, and could even have declined his invite.

But, if he decided to reconsider - if Axl came along that is - he may well have organised a meeting.

I've no doubt that organisers would manage to fit Izzy and Axl in, even if it was a last minute decision, and Izzy would have known that.

  5. Questions were as good as could have been asked. Very well-thought out.

Especially seeing as it was over email - which can prove difficult.

Remember: Interviewer is interviewing for mainstream audience, not die-hard fans.

From our point of view, only disappointment is the lack of a new music answer. Just set the fucking record straight.

Guns N' Roses is selling out tours in most areas - no need to list them, by the way - based on the name. And based on the hits.

Axl sees newer songs being sang along to, because in the first few rows (barring Brazil etc), there are big fans. Every city has them. And they know Chinese Democracy.

But for goodness sake, it's not hard to tell it straight. Just say what you've been doing in the last five years - and if, because of touring, you've had no time to record or write, say it.

If you have, when do you think it will come out? Or why it may be delayed.

  6. Going down is slower paced, acoustic-ey, that something Bob Dylan could have done. A Tommy Stinson song.

(i'm paraphrasing him, but it's pretty close)

It also features Stinson on vocals and Axl on main chorus.

(That's me saying that, not Bumble -> NOTE: i'm not insider and i don't have the song, so don't pm about that)

That sounds great. Massive Tommy fan, and would love to see how Axl would approach a song like that.

Tommy's solo stuff is great - looking forward to hearing this at some point now.

  7. Do you think Axl owes money to the record company? Thoughtful and insightful answers welcomed.

    No. I don't.

Do I think Robin Finck's guitar solo on a demo of 'Light My Fire' is quite possibly the meanest fucking solo to surface under the Gnr banner since Slash's 'Sweet Child'? Yes. Yes, I do.

In the very near future, I'll be curious to see if others agree.

Am currently listening to the Doors, hearing Axl recorded on a Doors song would be sweet.

  8. So, what do you think now?

    Strong voice here.

I must be deaf then. I thought the reading proshots were utterly terrible compared to what Axl is capable of. This is a good reminder to me that not all was great in 2010 either.

    Dislike this video too.
