  1. hey hey i just bought a djembe. for those who dont know its one of these

    djembe03s.jpg

mines straight of africa, antelope skin and odom tree, single piece. shes a beaut. so to speak

anyways, i was wondering if anyone here has one, or knows a good amount about them and could offer me some tips for playing and upkeep, because it wasnt cheap and i wanna make good use. i already know about the bass, tone and slap. i know im doing bass right, but tone and slap aren't exactly easy, so some tips couldnt hurt thanks much.

  2. dead kennedys - give me convenience or give me death (GO BUY THIS ALBUM)

various - punk and disorderly (GO BUY THIS ALBUM)

thats it, my girl burned me a cd of various artists and a monty python song (i bet you they wont play this song on the radio - *honking noise followed by scream* hilarious - only monty python fans might catch that one)

and i burned johnny cash at folsom prison, go buy this album its worth the money...i burned because i had borrowed it just to have a listen and liked it a lot

  3. anyone who owns Loco Live by the ramones, its a recording of a concert in barcelona i believe in the early 90s

regardless, anyone who owns it go listen to the track pet sematary, after the songs over and before judy is a punk, theres a short song played and i cant pick up any of the lyrics, and its really bugging me, can anyone help?

  4. I thought Breakdown was written with a split in mind. Axl knew he was gonna screw everyone. Listen to Locomotive. Sometimes it's best to walk away. Yesterdays? 14 years of Pain? Dust N Bones? I don't need your Civil War? He knew what he was writing. Basically "game over, dudes."

dude, 14 years and dust n bones are both izzy for one, maybe he saw it coming, but really i dont think civil war is anything more than a political song, a great one and that

  5. im downloading it now, if its just guitar could you send me any kind of tabs or any way of learning it?

    great song by the way

Edit: nevermind its just you singing along

hmm, seems a bit overdone if you ask me, you sound like you have that voice thats good if you use it right this just doesnt sound like your style

dont feel bad, you cant beat the king

  6. i normally play drums, but i wanna pick up just a tad bit of guitar, for fun

i wanna learn this song but i can only find it in guitar pro, so is there anyway to transfer it to a real tab

the song is takin care of no business by jimi hendrix

    guitar pro things

if you need the song pm me with an email adress (preferably hotmail) and ill email it to you or send it via msn or something

    thanks much

  7. the point of a cover is kinda like to give tribute to a band you like, or maybe just songs you like playing. sometimes covers can be quite original (guns have done a few, hendrix as well) where you take the song and play it in your fashion. it can also make it easier for an audience to connect with a new band if they play songs they know mixed in with originals. Or as in the case of the spaghetti incident, it may be to rush out an album (just kidding), i think the point of TSI was because they liked to play the songs, and also some songs were lesser known (ie down on the farm) to the general public, and in the booklet it says these songs rock check out the originals (or something to that effect)

as for cover bands, maybe they just really like the band?

edit: i like this quick edit deal

  8. Jimi Hendrix Experience and The Beatles -- No reunion tours with the original line up    :(

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    dude

do you wanna see somene tour as the jimi hendrix experience without hendrix, its just not the same, ive seen some good tribute bands but nothin compares to the original, as for the beatles, it could be done, i dont know how well accepted it would be

  9. actually ive read somewhere that iron maiden has had over 20 lineup changes (your probably thinking just singers) steve harris is the only one who hasnt ever left the band

    wikipedia says.....

listening to the clansman right now, troopers up next, then ill throw in killers perhaps, this threads made me in a maiden mood

  10. not only is bob dylan one of the greatest if not the greatest songwriter of rock n roll history (im unfortunately just getting into him now) and deserves the highest of praises, but also you've stolen my avatar

no sarcasm intended i hold the guy in amazingly high respects

  11. Metallica is fuckin crap, sellout shit

just cuz a band moves on in their music doesnt mean you have to like it

and if a band moves on in their music and you dont like it doesnt mean you have to put it down, its what they wanna do let em do it listen to other stuff of theirs you like

    for example

i dont like post justice metallica as much (black albums got some good stuff it just doesnt hit me as much, especially the second half) so i listen to kill em all, ride the lightning, and master of puppets ( i wore my ride the lightning and metallica cds out completely so i had to buy new ones of each, didnt replace master of puppets yet)

the band isnt custom fit to meet your needs as a listener, sorry but deal with it, otherwise were gonna have nothing but simple plan and good charlotte etc (bands who are custom fit to the listeners)

  12. actually genesis, im taking the beautiful young lady out to dinner at a real nice place, then shopping afterwards, so :fuckyou: ....just kidding, but the dude im 16 was pertaining to fukajis comment:

if anyone tried to get into my knickers by giving me a cd id hit them.

im sending her flowers as well....which reminds me i gotta go do that

  13. try taking her to a nice restraunt or bar and buy her drinks and that, dont give her a cd of shit power ballads.

if anyone tried to get into my knickers by giving me a cd id hit them.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    dude. I'm 16.

  14. sorry for my ignorance, but marvin?

and im goin for more serious love songs, nothin really pertaining to lust, ill check out that song you mentioned, just thought id add that note

as for voodoo child, the first time we went out was to a hendrix/janis joplin cover band, and through voodoo child we just spent the whole time lost in each others eyes, by the way shes got the most beautiful eyes youll ever see...and i mean ever, and that song just brings me back to that night

  15. so im making a cd for my girl, her birthdays in 10 days, im taking her out to dinner and shopping and stuff, i have 9 songs right now
