  1. I think she looked older in her control days especially in the film clip when I think of you, than she does now. I am thinking because that was the 80's and some of the 80's style made people look older and she was going for the I'm mature and in control look.

I don't think she was fat, just chubby.

    I agree.

Its interesting watching that clip - my god 80's fashion was attrocious. I cant believe i ever thought that was a good look...but we did. The big hair, the shoulder pads, the Paula Abdul choreography, the loud makeup....good grief.

  2. It's not so much the song, but the video for Fat, by Weird Al that I love...you need to have seen the atrocious Bad video to really appreciate it though....very very funny.

  3. Does any think that Janet was fat back in her Control days?

He's a clip from that album:

When I think of You video

She was definitely overweight back then. Still very pretty, though.

You'd go as far as to say she was "fat"? Not just a little chubby?

Well, she was certainly more than a little chubby. Quite heavily overweight.

Does anyone else agree with Angelica?

The reason I ask is that I remember this clip, and at the time, I thought Janet was absolutely beautiful - I didnt at all think, oh yeah, she's a pretty fat chick.

Now that I compare this early look, to more recent years, I think she looks heavy, I just dont think that she looks that bad, but I constantly hear others say they think she was fat.

Was she fat then, or just beefier than in later years?

  4. no i probably wouldn't want money but i wouldn't want to see the other person dead either but the fact is, some people do and will, different strokes. try looking at it is this way if you will, if you're really looking to angle this one. OK, the kids life is all but ruined by the ordeal, whats gonna benefit him more, seeing Jacko go to jail or getting what was it, 10 mil? so that at very least he can live the rest of his life in financial security. theres lots of ways to look at things if you try. see you term it as "here is the money, you got what you want, leave me alone" but you could just as easily rephrase that as "heres the money, dont prosecute me, i am guilty". wasnt there some report around that that kid described michaels genetalia or something in vivid terminology i.e. whatever make them distinctive, i dunno if he forgot to bleach em or something i dunno but that kid would have got Jacko sent up the river if that case'd got going and jacko greased his old man up so he wouldn't have to. fact is, out of court settlements look okay in a divorce situation but when theres a big allegation like this, you should ante up and get ready to clear your name (if you can). whatever happened to running marathons? i think the truth got a stitch or something.

Being a parent, I would sooner see someone in jail then want their money. If this had been a regular Joe who supposedly molested their son, they wouldn't be asking for 10 million. Why would you want him free to do this to other boys? That entire story was complete bullshit. Personally, I don't believe MJ did it. Just greedy people wanting his money and will lie to get it. The 2nd allegations in 2003 (or 2004?) were the same, and in some cases worse. The mother had been charged with lying about being assaulted at a JCPenney store by the guards. They were also up on charges of welfare fraud. Some of the witnesses for the prosecution testified that Macauley Culkin had been molested by MJ, a charge which MACAULEY HIMSELF denied.

However, MJ is either completely naive or just a total dumbass. He put himself into the situation to be accused in the first place.

Agree. And someone, not sure who, someone who was involved with MJ musically around the Thriller album, told him then, that he was asking for trouble by hanging out with little boys. They said his attitude was 'you cant tell me what to do, Ill do what I like'.

I dont believe he did it either, but I cant figure out is his attitude towards guests who sleep over. He says "I say, take my bed, Ill sleep on the floor"....so there's only one bed at his mansion??

  5. but esp his change from black man to white woman (so very unnatural!), all the cosmetic surgery

only in America can a poor Black man become a rich white man :P I heard that somewhere.

Isnt that supposed to be "a poor black man can become a rich white woman"?

  6. Loved her on "Good Times".

She was also on Different Strokes. She played Willis' girlfriend Charlene. I remember seeing her on that as a kid and thinking she was the prettiest girl I'd ever seen.

She also had a role on Fame, I dont think I ever saw those episodes though.

  7. Favourite MJ vids:

Purely for the sentimental factor - Beat It and Billie Jean.

I, like most people when these songs were number 1, loved them, and I loved Michael Jackson. This was Michael Jackson, WHEN he was cool. When he still looked hot. When his music was still relevant and popluar. Before his ego had gone beserk and turned him into a freak.

I like the following two videos for a different reason: Rock With You, and Dont Stop Till You Get Enough.

If you watch these video's you see a Michael Jackson that was real, and "down to earth". The joy he expresses as he sings these songs is a pleasure to watch. This was Michael Jackson standing on the threshold of international adulation and success. A guy that was too busy expressing happiness in his music to care too much about his hair, or his skin colour.

A far cry from the idiotic and self indulgent Bad video - where he makes a complete fool of himself. It's a pity he didnt stay innocent and joyful, but instead turned into an egomaniac.

  8. I'm with Frank and Amanda. He's a fucking loon, and that's by far the nicest possible thing I can bring myself to say about him.

*On topic* That one with Naomi Campbell. I know she's a psycho bitch, but she's a damn fine looking psycho bitch.

fucken loon, huh, so have you actually met him and spoken to him, so who are you to judge him like that?

possibly not but im sure she hasnt met adolf hitler either..

so are you comparing MJ to Hitler?

They don't compare at all, and yeah people can judge him if they choose. But then again think if it was your life in papers and every step you made was taken into a 100 peices for a story for money. Think about if you made a mistake and it went world wide. Michael is human, but comparing him to Hitler is wrong.

No he's not comparing him to Hitler, he's saying that you cant say that Hitler isnt a loon just because you havent met him either. You can see that he's a loon without having met him.

yeah and im calling MJ pretencious based on fatual evidence too. and in answer to your question of what i would do if my life was under such scrutiny in the public well i'd do one of two things. 1) be low key and not so ostentacious 2) be ostentacious but develop a thick skin and learn to understand that if i act weird, people are gonna notice and point it out, that is the nature of fame and celebrity, what i wouldnt do is do is go around pissing and moaning interviews criticising the media when they take pictures of me dangling little children from hotel windows and walking around with a surgeons mask on my face to hide my Ken Doll nose. these things are factual too, someone so obssessed with their appearance can again not be deemed as down to earth. its vanity its the mirror opposite of being down to earth.

Spot on. Also, have you seen that interview that got him into trouble - the Martin Bashir one..anyway, MJ was seen clearly LYING at stages through the interview.

For instance, Bashir asks him "did you have a relationship with Blankets mother?" MJ said he did, implying that their was a sexual union.

Later, Bashir asks him the same thing, and he says no.

Also, view the footage of MJ inside that shop at Vegas where he just walks around saying "Ill have that" to everything, dazzling Bashir with the way he seemingly spent around $3m without blinking.

It was reported later that he sent everything back, couldnt pay for it, and had only done that to show off during the interview.

Hardly the mark of someone that is down to earth...

the thing is how can you even compare your life to Michaels, none of us would have any idea unless someone here had a similiar life to him, come on now. And about the baby dangling, yeah sure it was a mistake, I myself will admit as a mother that I made some mistakes through being a parent but would I want to be ridiculed by it for the rest of my life, of course not, I knew I made a mistake and I moved on for the better. I'm sure other parents are the same. Even Michael as a parent himself. I'm not perfect and either is Michael.

And about Michaels appearance. It has nothing to do with his personality and how he interacts towards his fans and who he meets.

There's a scene in the Bashir interview where a female fan is pleading to be allowed inside the limo, to get to MJ, "to get a hug". If you listen very closely (most people would have missed it) you hear MJ mumble to some other guy sitting near him "Ill give you more than a hug" and the other man laughs.

Nothing wrong with that, but what Im getting at, is that I dont think he's the innocent, saint that youre trying to make us think he is. He was also found to have a very large collection of pornography that included girls of around 16 years old.

According to Lisa Marie Presley, and Walter Yetnikof, he also DOES NOT talk in that high pitched whispery voice either. His REAL voice is deep and manly. He puts on that little boy voice, as he was trained to talk like that as a teen, and cant let it go - he believes it's part of his Peter Pan image.

Hardly 'down to earth' is it? It's hardly 'down to earth' to have giraffes and carousels etc around your home.

He may be an ok guy, but he is not down to earth....Elton John is more down to earth than Michael Jackson...

  9. i feel sorry amanda i really do  you always get into this arguments where you have to explain some of the stupidest shit. OK, down to earth = being yourself, bleaching your skin is not being yourself now you can say "so what, he wants to" well great, no ones saying he shouldn't but its still a pertinent fact that that act does not come under the definition of being yourself. to pretencious, whether they are fine or not it does not get away from the fact that naming a kid blanket and parading them around under veils and masks is a pretencious and strange thing to do, it is NOT the act of someone who is down to earth. he's free to do it sure, but again, not down to earth. thats not a criticism necessarily but its a real painfully obvious undeniable fact.my favorite MJ video

Thank you for your sympathy, and thank you also for stepping up to the plate after I went to bed. Saved me my usual job of explaining the most elementary basic shit, that hardly needs explaining.Ffrank is correct, you seem to trying to say that you think he is a nice guy - maybe he is, but he IS NOT "down to earth".

he named another kid blanket  and yeah, that definition was necessary because i think some people are misunderstanding the meaning of the term down to earth.
Yep. The term "down to earth" and Michael Jackson dont normally go together. This man also coined the term "king of pop" to describe himself...very down to earth..
Blanket is a nickname, he explained that and Michael never called himself the king of pop, Elizabeth taylor was the first to call him that at an award show, and after that the name Michael jackson king of pop was everywhere by fans etcthis is the first time Michael is called the king of pop by Elizabeth Taylor in 1989, the name king of pop for Michael went from there

And you dont think he told E. Taylor to say that?? I read, from a reliable source that he wanted himself known as the King of Pop, as he was jealous that Elvis was known as "the king". He thought he was royalty too...ever noticed the princley style, military jackets etc - the man has a royalty complex and likes to think of himself as a prince or a king - hence the TWO kids being called Prince Michael...hardly the mark of anyone thats down to earth..

that doesnt dispute the fact that the definition of down to earth does not even come close to describing the man, its just a fact dude. it not necessarily a criticism, its just a truism.

    Correct.

well I know for a fact that his attitude is down the earth, more so than people think, sure he is not the every day kinda person but if you think about his life and being one of the most famous people on this earth well that's to be expected. And it's not like he can go out and do everyday things like you and me without getting photographed or video taped every second. For most who have met him say he is really nice. When he was on trial he invited his fans to his ranch and mingled in with them and they said that Michael was very welcoming and easy going.

Nice does not mean the same as "down to earth". Would you like it explained again - down to earth means plain, ordinary in style and demeanour. Not showy etc etc. A comparison, Keifer Sutherland or Patrick Swayze would be described as down to earth. They dont prance around in sequins, and military jackets. They dont bleach their skin and dance on top of cars, they dont call their son Prince Patrick the second, they dont portray themselves as a christ figure....blah blah blah. Nice people though.

can you explain to me what you think down to earth means? hows this, you wanna see down to earth? this is real down to earth right here, watch this video, wait til about the 3:40 mark, namely, the part where poor homeless helpless afflicted looking people gather onstage which jacko prances around them, only to stop after a while, strip off til he's all dressed in heavenly white, stand there with his arms out-stretched while the poverty stricken around him then turn to his embrace. ever hear of a Christ complex? this video is positively obscene. now you could interpret that as "oh, he's putting forward a message of love and togetherness" but look at the imagery, look at the set up, performances are coreographed, look where he places himself in relation to other people. if he wanted to convey love and togetherness he'd do that by possibly (just a suggestion) dressing up as them maybe? holding hands with them on their level? as a message laden performance that would still be pretencious but this one is just flat out disturbing and he makes himself out to be a dick. on the unedited version of this performance Jarvis Cocker from the band Pulp ran onstage and mooned the crowd and generally messed around in protest at what he thought was just a ridiculous degree of pomposity and im inclined to agree with him. and ridiculous claims made by Jacko like the one where he said that white society has been out to get him since he started out-selling elvis or something, thats just fucking ridiculous and im a black person saying that.
but still, my question if you could answer. what does down to earth mean?

True. What is your understanding of down to earth Axl rules?

and the difference between them is that what Hitler did is a world known fact.
MJ has done many loonish things which are world known facts (multiple bizarre plastic surgeries, admitting to regularly sleeping in the same bed as children who are not his own, baby dangling etc).

Yes Angelica, the man is nuttier than a Xmas Pudding..

  10. he named another kid blanket  and yeah, that definition was necessary because i think some people are misunderstanding the meaning of the term down to earth.

  11. The pick of the litter (I know, that's not saying much). I like quite a bit of her stufff, especially the Janet record from 1993 and The Velvet Rope. Should have stopped having plastic surgery in the mid-nineties, she looked great then.
I agree with you. BTW, why dont you like her looks now.Apparently she's piled the weight back on too...what a shame.
to be blunt, i would fuck the BRAKES off her!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D now and then :lol:janet-jackson-picture-1.jpg*shrieks*uh huh!!! that there
The question is then - are you big enough for her? She's a size queen.
  12. ^^

    Cool. MJ's just very misunderstood.

He is. I wish him all the best, he has gone through hell and still manages to just be so down to earth and stuff like that.

You think Michael Jackson is down to earth???

This is a guy who called his second kid, "Prince Michael 2nd"....not to mention the surgical mask, the bleached skin and the kids with masks on everytime theyre in public..

Why judge him on bleached skin? If he wants to look white so let him.

The public tends to go down hard on his surgery even though there are so many other people who have/ and are doing the same thing.

I can't say anything on the masks though. Although people say its to prevent people from going after them.

Im not judging him on bleached skin. Im saying it's hardly a quality of a black man who's down to earth is it??

    ^^

yes I do think he is, and so what he called his child prince Michael

Did you ever think that the name Prince comes from his grand father who was named Prince and Michael named his child(ren) after him?

As for his youngest kid I do beleive his name is different than what people think, but who knows.

The mask is his decision, I mean he is Michael Jackson one of the most famous people on this earth and they are his children so I think he made the right decision making his kids wear mask and scarves because the press will follow them around all the time taking pictures and what kind of life is that, come on now, it can't be easy, he is trying his best and for those who have met them say they are really nice manners down to earth children and also he explains to them why they wear the masks and scarves and he said if they want to stop wearing them then he would be fine with it. And just because his kids wear scarves and masks doesn't mean they don't have a social life because they do but people don't recoginize them which is probably a good thing.About the bleach skin, does his skin colour matter, he has vitiligo and that's it. That doesn't change who he is on the inside?

Definition of down to earth: Not pretentious or affected; straightforward. Not overly ornate; simple in style. Realistic; sensible.

The point is - he didnt just name his "child" Prince Michael - he named the first one that, the second one that AS WELL adding "the 2nd" on the end.

Is that normal? Do you normally called your kid a name like that, after yourself, and then do it again for the second kid?

That is, if youre down to earth!! And if you believe that he's now a whiter shade of pale due to a skin condition youre very very naiive.
