No, that era, that fire within him is long gone.
He probably started SSRIs or other depression drugs in 2009 or so
Would explain the weight gain and sudden lack of want to release/create music(from what we can tell on the outside)
Those drugs numb the sad but turn you into a zombie and I'd imagine creativity takes a huge hit

Crazy that Axls post illusions output has been about a dozen songs lol who would have guessed that in 1991?

I think you're all kidding yourselves contemplating single release vs album release ... It's sooooooo so obvious that what they're doing is drip feeding us songs to add excitement to each new tour lol this has nothing to do with artistic / creative integrity
If you think casuals, who are the ones who make tours happen, even know about the existence of the general you're delusional lol

He plays the intro to By The Sword so lightly and tentatively, like he's nervous to mess it up. He seems to do that with a lot of clean parts these days.
Probably reading too much into it, but I wonder if Stockdale will be on the new album as a guest singer.
By the sword is top 3 post-VR Slash songs IMO hope they play it in Dublin this month

Haven't seen Slash and Myles since 2014. Myles at that gig was the best singer/frontman performance I've ever seen. Is he still that good?

Halo is the worst song on AL wish it was dropped for literally any other AL song

1. 3 Arena Dublin 2012 (my first ever gig so holds a special place in my heart)
2. Slane castle 2017 (I don't even remember this gig tbh I was wasted
3. Marley Park 2022 (Axl sounded awful and I was surrounded by people who only knew sweet child and paradise city)

Unless Axl starts collabing with Ice Spice the general public DO NOT CARE about new guns n roses music.

It's a weird feeling. I craved new music from Axl for 15 years.
I would sit and dream about how he's sitting on these amazing mythical behemoth such as The General and being perplexed why he isn't releasing them.
Now here we are finally getting new guns n roses music but im just totally, utterly, completely disinterested in the songs. They are nothing songs.
It's honestly HILARIOUS how little these songs do for such an Axl Dick rider like myself hahaha

Chinese Democracy is my second favourite album of all time. These new songs have not resonated with me even a little bit apart from "it's cool to hear Axl sing a new song again"
Talk about underwhelming though. First original material since 2008 and this is what they could muster.. Axl is creatively bankrupt.

wow awesome! any other notable performances from this era?

350 pound. Oooof.

Axl is just getting his "medicine" from the source nothing else to see here

Well bba, I haven't listened to GNR in a long time, except when they inevitably are on the radio. They are a bygone phase for me, as is usually the case with most bands, not that, that's a bad thing.
I'm shocked people still listen to gnr daily after 20+ years and shit lol I had a phase from 14-19 when I listened to gnr daily but now I'd only listen to them when I'm drunk

Pity we didn't get 2010 Axl at Glastonbury but we did get that amazing Welcome to the Jungle pro shot from Reading festival. Man he really had the power in 2010 with that intro scream!

I wonder why they're not doing Ireland this time around? Show was decently attended last summer

When I saw them in Ireland in the summer almost everybody there was a sweet child o mine/paradise city casual who didn't know or give a fuck about 90% of the songs in the set.
People are severely underestimating how many people are willing to drop 100 euro on a ticket for a band they wouldn't even listen to unless their hit came on the radio.

When rock and Axl ruled the world.

Think im done seeing Guns at this stage. Will be 100 euro for a ticket next time round for the exact same show just worse again because Axls voice will be a year older. It sounded painful for him when I saw them in the summer, not mickey just painful on his poor old chords at this stage.

We don't exactly have many to choose from lol

They picked some absolutely garbage songs to cover lmao don't know what they were thinking with most of the choices

Axl was so hot 06-08
