  1. You should really take this with a grain of salt. It basically says that a reunion is in the works and will eventually happen in 2016. But since Perla and Slash are not yet divorced they won't announce it because she is still entitled to get 50% of Slash's earnings.

    Welcome To The Jungle!

  2. It's a publicity stunt first and foremost. Why? While it might help these "poor" people momentarily it will not change the circumstances they are living in. If someone really cared he'd try and change the fact that a lot of people have to end up on the streets in the first place. It's a shame that a rich country like America treats the weakest of its society the way it does. But that's just my opinion and I don't think it'll change that easily nor at all.

  3. I always thought of him as a freak. I did back then and I do so now. Having read the insanity he pulled off in the studio made me shake my head even more. A bitchsmack is what might have helped him back then. Sure he can play but so can many others...at least as far as Guns material is concerned. I would take Slash over Buckethead any given day because as far as I'm concerned I relate more to the feel of the playing insted of the technique.

  4. The whole situation has become far, far beyond ridiculous. It's obvious that TB is keeping Axl away from doing anything that will push him to deal with the real world. I have been more or less active in diverse GNR forums over the last 12 or 13 years and after CD came out I decided I'm not going to expect GNR to ever release anything again. I also recognoize that this time it seems to be a crucial turning point for NuGnr because people are starting to turn their back on the project and it's something I don't remember to have witnessed in all those years. Hell, even I have defended the ridicoulus circus with Buckethead and Finck for quite some time.

I have read many times that GNR do put on a great show. Three hour sets and stuff. Explosions and fire. Sure...they do. I've seen them in the o2 in London the day before Duff joind (great) and 2012 in Germany. While London was fun because I had an easy standing place six rows from front of stage and Axl was in real good shape, the German gig was kinda boring because it was basically the same setlist and his voice wasn't nearly as strong. Properbly that was due to it being an open air. Still...I could have watched the same thing on YouTube and there you go. Axl as enough money to hire all the players, tell them to play for three hours and then hide behind the stage for half of the time sniffing oxygen. Yeah, that's great three hour shows. Sure.

I pitty the fools (!!) that spent a fortune going to the same show a dozen of times.

I have been to other artists shows by then who give a shit and who actually are the same band that wrote the music that's played: Rammstein. There is no bullshitting about them and their show. Also they always throw in lots of suprises in the show and setlist. I have seen them four times over the last 10 years and it's never been the same.

The Rolling Stones (Hyde Park 2013): For every gig they ask fans to vote for a song of their choice to be played live (out of 4 or 5 options). I do not need to tell you anything about how seriously Mick Jagger takes care of himself, his voice and his b®and.

One last thing: If that tweed was aimed at the questions that have been collected in this place this is a shame. Not more and not less. Sure, Axl can ride the ame as long as he wants but if this shit goes on and on he's become nothing more than a sellout with a huge bunch of monkies on his back. The sad is that he is just more than happy to allow these people to blind his eyes and piss on the fans who still give a shit.

  5. What a shitty statement. Of course the do know if they intend to tour, intentend to put out new music or intentend to release a Dvd. It's not like some promotors are calling them at some point and tell them 'Axl, pack your bags, tour starts tomorrow.'

This shit is getting beyond ridicoulus because by putting out a statement like this, it's always going to look like someone else is to blame. In that case the people who have not yet made any confirmations to any plans the band obviously has (but is not going to tell the fans about it - so they basically have information but don't share it).

Myve the should get someone who's able to really handle their PR so it's not that obvious how they fool their fans.

  6. If it comes down to what Duff has accomplished for music history, I'm sure he'll be ranked higher than Stinson.

What has Duff accomplished, dude? Get real. He never changed anything in music history. He's not influential nor inventive. He's known and that's about it. Do you know The Replacements? Read a few stories about that band and educate yourself a bit more.

Oh, we've heard Slash live. Plenty. I've never heard his guitar sing though, not even once.

Well for one he's helped create Appetite and helped GNR become one of the biggest acts in the world at the time. I didn't said that he changed (anything in) music history BUT that his accomplishments as far as success (and talent playing a part in it) are concerned outrank anything Stinson can come up with.

  7. Tommy is a better bass player but Duff has more memorable lines. It's a bit like comparing the guitars of Buckethead and Slash.

Why is Tommy a better bass player?

If it comes down to what Duff has accomplished for music history, I'm sure he'll be ranked higher than Stinson.

Buckethead..sure he's a great guitar player. Have you ever seen Slash play...I mean live?

That guy can make a guitar sing.

  8. Duff

    Tommy is boring as fuck

    Replacements too

    This.

Duff has the GNR persona and did his part and then some. Tommy needs to get down on his knees and kiss teh ground Duff walks on for giving him an easy ride these last 15 years. All Tommy is -is a good replacement but hes just a replacement. You will never see Tommy being thought of as THE bass player for GNR when history shakes it down.

    Very well said.

  9. No, there is no other big name band that operates with such stupidity as GNR does. As soon as something is announced one can almost presume it will never happen. Ever. Interviews by any members (Axl being the exception) are worthless. I have seen the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park two weeks ago. With 70 years of age Mick Jagger easily outsings and outruns Axl by now. And he knows how to run this business: You can download the whole gig from iTunes by now and I'm sure a DVD is on the way and will come out this year (not in 2030). GNR has become a cruel and ridicoulus nightmare of obscourities for every fan by now. At this point all one can do is one thing: Smile and shut up!

  10. Dizzy was fired around the same time Slash and Duff left. However Dizzy just kept on showing up... Even after being replaced.

    hahahahaha can you imagine that?

Axl: "What are you doing here? I fired you last year. We even replaced you with this new guy here, this is Chris."

Chris: "Yo. So you're the infamous Slash."

Dizzy: "But Axl, I have nowhere to go, please let me stay in the rehearsal."

    Axl: "OK, you can watch."

Dizzy: "I brought my keyboard, is it ok if a play along?"

Axl: "Uh... Ok I gues... Guys, keep it very low in the mix, please. Chris, are you ok with this?"

Chris: "Whatever you say, boss. Where's the booze?"

Then on 2001 they came to Rio...

Axl: "Dizzy? Are you on vacation here?"

Dizzy: "Well, actually I was wondering if you could let me play with you guys. Keep me very low in the mix, you know..."

Axl: "Jesus Christ, Dizzy... I'll let it, but only because the Rock in Rio stage is gigantic and no one will actually notice you. I mean, I can't do that to Chris."

Chris: "Boss, I already said I don't give a fuck about Slash. Where's the booze?"

Then on 2006 he got braids along with Axl...

Axl: "Dizzy, what the fuck happened to your hair? Are these braids? I can't believe."

Dizzy: "Oh man, I had never noticed you had braids as well! What a coincidence. Hey Chris, where are your braids? Don't have? Ha!"

Two years later Robin got braids - true story, for the NIN tour - so Axl fired him because this was getting of out control. True story.

    Great!

  11. Thanks for answering! :)

I guess as a GNR fan one would enjoy Slash's book the most as it consists a lot of things about his time in the band. Stevens book is ok too but at points it's just like watching an accident: It's horrible but you can't look away. It also leaves a lot of questions open and paints Steven solely as the victim of his drug abuse and all the shit that has happened to him. A tango takes two I guess.

Duff's book was, from an 'literate' point of view, the most interesting one as he managed to write a real autobiography about himself with Guns only being a part of it and not everything the book is about. And I think he also wrote it himself which adds a lot of bonus points!

  12. Hi Marc,

I wonder if you've read some (or maybe even all) of the ex-members biographies (Slash, Duff, Steven). If so, which one do you prefer and why? Do you think, according to their authors individual point of view, each of them tell a 'true', authentic story? Or can you think of things and events which are taken out of proportion or being exaggerated in order to sell a few more copies? Do you feel that the biographies have been fair when it comes to judging and describing Axl and demise of the band?
