  1. Ashba should leave. Fortus and Bumblefoot are being underutilized in the band because of that clown. At best, Ashba should be a rhythm guitarist and play 0 solos and he should also be forced to stop being a douche on stage by contract - one more Hulk Hogan ears and you're gone. Take black awful gloves off so you can bend the notes properly or you're gone. Stop trying to look like Slash and hit the right notes or you're gone.

Seriously man the top hat was when he lost it for me.. Ok you ain't that good o well ok you look emo o well, but common The Top Hat

he was wearing those hats WAY before he ever had anything to do with GNR.
  2. F*ck no!!! Dj is a great performer and is a good fit for this band. They're great guitar players but it was embarrassing watching GNR with buckethead and Robin...it was a stage full of freaks. If I wanted to see that I could go to coney island. Whether you want to admit it or not, personality has a lot to do with being successful, and the current lineup performs amazing live shows and they are full of energy and interact with fans while doing it...and DJ is full of personality and interacts with the crowd more than anyone. Bucket and Robin just stand there like corpses and look ridiculous while doing it. At least with DJ, Ron and Richard you kinda feel like you somehow know them a bit because they interact with the crowd so well. Bucket and Robin are the last 2 former members I'd want to come back.

I can't even begin with this post full of nonsense. I can't take a guy like you seriously when you say that watching nuGuns with Buckethead and Finck was embarrassing but at the same time defend and praise DJ Ashba.

Ashba is the cancer of Axl's current line-up.

I completely disagree about Ashba being the cancer. I couldn't stand Robin...he just like bucket just didn't fit in GNR. When DJ came in he brought a huge stage presence and a fun attitude and it rubbed off on everybody. The band seems to be having a great time on stage since his arrival...I really don't think Ron being miserable lately has anything to do with DJ. He brings energy on stage, he constantly communicates with his fans on social media and he is genuinely excited to be in GNR and it shows. I think DJ is exactly what this band was missing.

  4. You don't think he's gona any Chinese wasted?

My money's on duff playing Chinese and Better

I can't see Duff doing 5 CD songs. I have no idea. I don't know how hard it is to pick songs up like Better and Catcher.

maybe they will rehearse a couple but it might easier to just do old stuff he's done before like So Fine and Mama Kin.

Duff was at rehearsals with the rest of the band before the tour started.
  5. Oh fuck they dropped This I Love? That better not be a regular thing at all, not only is it the most well received by live audiences, it's also consistently the best performed of the CD songs.

Was it dropped? Because I've seen a few setlists saying it was played between live and let die and Tommy's solo.
  6. Highlights of the show. great video.

They should take 1000 South American fans on the rest of the tours as part of their entourage to add to the sound.

He sounds pretty good in that Better clip. TIL wasn't so hot. YCBM should be dropped at this stage. Cool to see Bumble embracing the rock-star image with the shades during the SCOM solo. Did he play the Civil War solo during 2011-12, I thought Ashba did?

Fuck it, I'm excited for my show again. I feel like a guy who's forcing himself to love his increasingly unattractive wife and denying that he'd rather have a younger, hotter thing.

Ashba plays the first and third solo and bumble plays the second.

  7. It didn't really fly. It just went up in the air over the stage. It's not like it went out over the fans. That would have been cool, but Axl falling down wouldn't have been so cool.

I thought it looked good especially for the shows in Vegas where anything can happen.

Yes it did go out over the crowd...I was at the nov 14th and 17th shows and it definitely went out over the crowd. The piano stayed on the stage for the first couple of shows...maybe when they first decided to lift it in the air it just went straight up for the first show or two then they found a way to float it out over the crowd...they were tinkering with the stage show throughout the residency. Shortening the ramps ect.
  8. Wtf is Ashba media? I just don't get how he gets all this income... there is no way it all comes from GNR

Ashba Media does displays and costumes for I think all of the different Cirque De Soleil's in Vegas. They also do makeup and costumes for movies and tv...I'm pretty sure they've done some zombie work for The Walking Dead. They're in the process of making a Tim Burton style animated movie as well as doing music for tv shows and movies. Ashba also produces albums for a bunch of bands and singers. Say what you want about the guy but he has a company that's doing all of that...plus he's got his own clothing line, his own signature car with dodge, a 4 guitar signature collection with Ovation guitars, and a signature Les Paul. He really does have a lot of cool stuff going on.

  9. Doesn't anyone on this forum have anything better to do with their lives than pick apart and criticize every single thing DJ does and says??? If you don't care about or like DJ why pay so much attention to him? Why read his tweets and Facebook posts? Why look at his pictures? Why take the time to "investigate" his pictures by zooming in on his picture to look at the reflection in his glasses? You all like to talk about how pathetic and embarrassing he is and how he pretends to be a rockstar...NEWS FLASH...he is a rockstar! Last I checked he is the lead guitarist for GNR and Sixx AM. The only thing that's pathetic and embarrassing in all of this is all of the people on here who are obsessed with someone they don't even like and spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to bash him as much as possible. Like it or not, besides Axl, DJ is by far the most popular and well known member of GNR to casual fans and the general public.

I think people are more likely to say "is it buckethead or something like that" next up people know Bumblefoot, weird names are memorable. I've seen more news reports mention Bumble as the lead guitarist than Dj. I don't think Dj is the most well known, I do think he has more obsessive fans and a social network following but the GA don't really know him, at least they kinda know Bumblefoots name and that he plays a foot guitar.
DJ gets a lot of his notoriety from his involvement with Motley Crue and Sixx AM. Motley have a lot of fans and they definitely know about DJ because he was basically an unofficial member for quite a few years. Then you have Sixx AM which is quite popular. It might annoy a lot of people but he is VERY active on social media and has a large following and also does interviews and appearances on Fox News and other various media programs. He's very good at promoting himself as well as GNR. I understand how he can rub some people the wrong way with some of the things he posts, but I like that GNR finally have someone who does as much media as possible and who posts on social media all the time...at least he's excited and proud to be in the band.

  11. I can't wait for the tour to start and see DJ and Ron goofing around on stage and having a great time with eachother like usual...or doing interviews together for foreign radio stations and tv stations joking around having some laughs like they've done many times before...everyone in the band interacts with eachother like this, but I want to see it with Ron and DJ so all of these shit disturbers who keep saying there's this big fued between the 2 can shut up and find something else to bitch about.

You don't the first clue what you're talking about.

Wait, why am I addressing you as if you mean what you say? You're a blatant cupcake.

I'm a blatant cupcake??? Why...because I like this band and don't complain about everything they do? Please forgive me for looking forward to the residency instead of bitching about no new music, and for looking forward to the DVD instead of bitching about Axl's vocals and admitting this next thing on this board is probably grounds for immediate dismissal but I actually...are you ready for this? I actually really like DJ Ashba. I think he was exactly what this band was missing and besides Axl he's my favorite member! God forbid I think this band gets along well and like seeing them have a good time together...it seems like a few people on here only stir up shit and complain about every single thing this band does and want them to fight with eachother and fall apart...in which case why are you here...wouldn't those people be the cupcakes??

Can't believe dj is anyone's favourite member... you are 100% entitled to your opinions, same as everyone else on here is too. A lot! of people do not like Dj, a lot of people do not like Axls current voice, A lot of people don't care about more touring, everybody here wants more music.

I think your ideas for this band are a little far out, these guys are not friends for the most part, fractions within the band are good friends with each other, the other bit are just colleagues... at least that's the impression given.

I don't know if Bumbles tweet was actually relayed to GnR but, rehearsal have just started all his recent tweets have been pretty positive up to the rehearsals... so I can only assume that behind the tweet there was some meaning there for GnR. Most likely what we can read from this is that GnR will be business as usual this year. Don't expect much.

I think it's pretty clear that outside of this forum DJ is by far the most popular member next to Axl. I've seen them 5 times and after the show when people are walking out most of the conversations are either about how good Axl still is or How impressed they were with DJ. Like it or not he's popular with the casual fans.
  12. ...it seems like a few people on here only stir up shit and complain about every single thing this band does and want them to fight with eachother and fall apart...in which case why are you here...

It isn't your place, or anyone else's for that matter, to tell other users they shouldn't be here because they have a different opinion from yours.

And I shouldn't be called a cupcake just because I don't complain about this band.

  15. Richard is quoted in his end of tour (dead daisies) press release that he intends to.focus his efforts on the dead daisies after Vegas.

Not sure if its thread worthy but it certainly looks like there will be a dry spell for GNR in July and highly unlikely they will be working on a new album.

All depends on what Axl wants. We've seen how other members like Bumble have had to drop plans for GNR.

When is Sixx:AM going to release and tour their 3rd album? I know they said they're working on new music and Nikki Sixx said he wants to focus on the band after the end of the Motley Crue Farewell Tour, so far they're booked until December but that's just the US, got Europe and other places to play, too.

Back to Fortus, he always seems to give the impression that a new album is just a case of Axl and Caram picking and mixing existing tracks.

Sixx: A.M.'s new album is finished...Nikki and DJ have both tweeted about it recently saying it's done, and Nikki has tweeted about sitting around listening to the new Sixx: A.M. Album. Motley starts touring in July I think and that tour will last a good year and a half to 2 years...so I don't see Sixx: A.M. Touring until Motley's final tour is over.
