  1. Personally I have never bought into psychological profiles from filling out questionnaires. Too simplistic. When I was in college I took a graduate level course on psychiatric nursing which essentially rebuked all the stuff they taught in basic psychology. So I never understood. Why they taught it in the first place. The most important thing I did learn was that there are different frameworks. And they are all essentially theories. Personally I believe we are all souls having a human experience. It is easy to try and psychoanalyze other people so that we can feel better about ourselves.

i may have to agree with you on some level. there are classic cases of mental issues like depression anxiety ocd things of this nature that are just black and white text book cases. but they can also be considered personal demons for lack of better verbiage. the human mind is a odd little thing some of the i can say i would never entertain the thought of diving into like dalmer manson and the type people that would harm and other person. those minds i dont understand and to be honest i would not want to even get close enough to explore.

but a person that battles and fights to have a better way of life and rises up above fear and depression one that fights to be strong rather than weak i see nothing but opportunity for learning and sharing and helping others come out of dark places that hold them prisoner. just a thought :)

  2. im reading alot of comments about mood swings. i would like to say that there are plenty people out here in this old world that are moody as hell yet find a way to function daily. when your a chronic mood swinger you do learn to incorporate skills that do allow you to function as normally as possible in daily life. just for example he use to show up hours late for shows yet he has not done it in years. i do not think that he cares little or nothing for his fans. i think in order to get new material he has to live thru experiences in life that will aid in the production of songs. Not to mention at 53 there is no rule that states that no matter how much you care for your fans you should have to tour yearly. Golden years of our life should be spent doing what we want when we want it.

    Just food for thought

  3. Your descriptive view strongly resembles incarceration syndrome. Its not that I dont agree with profiling. I am a single woman and I can assure you I firmly believe in profiling however with you not knowing him I cant see where I have any voice to agree or disagree with your findings as I do know him my self. Axl that the world sees is not the same as William Rose that is in his heart and soul. He is one man on stage and in the public eye. He is another man when he is free in his own world without the constant view of people he has never met.

It is easy to define anyone in anyway we want but does not mean that it is realistic to truth. People who are reclusive are that way for the most because it is safer in the world we hide in rather than the open world which can be a very cold unfeeling place. I see him as strong man who found fame as a kid and had no freaking idea how to handle it combined with the fucked up shit that happened to him and his siblings as a kid. Combine all that shit and try to find some kind of normalcy in life and all i can say is good luck. Shit like that will drop the strongest person right down on all fours.

He seems happy inside now no more internal war and from all i can see he is trying to show the world that he has matured, changed and looked the demons right in the eye with squared shoulders and taken back control of his life. all i can say about that is CONGRATS thats some hard shit to rise above.

I have been thinking about your post, while busy doing other things. I don't grasp all you are saying 100%, due to the fact English is not my native language. (It´s pretty good, but sometimes just not good enough).

It seems you feel I pigeonholed Axl with my post and that I shouldn't have done that.

I'm very aware that I don't know him, and that therefor my view on him is very limited. I'm guessing on basis of what I see in the media, trying to peel the obvious bullshit off. I know there is a difference between what we see in public and the man he is in private. So my 'analyses' can be completely wrong. I'm not saying I know the truth.

What I seek was a way the find an explanation for the choices he made so far. To understand. Just because I'm interested and because I thought it was fun doing.

There is so much complaining about the choices he made and the things he has done/not done. I thought it was nice to look at those things and try to see them in a different light. I think the INTP is beautiful :)

Anyway, thanks for reading and replying ^_^

I thought the read was very interesting. I actually am the type person that deals only in black and white grey areas do not exist in my world. In short I deal only with the facts in life. My reason for posting was because i believe that Axl Rose on stage on tour is different from the Axl Rose on a daily basis. I think that the bad boy image sales records much better than a man who a normal joe when outside the view of the public. I wondered how your report or findings could be accurate if it was based of public eye Axl rather than behind closed door Axl. The fact that you did do the report was awesome and very interesting.

Incarceration Syndrome is the cousin to prisoner of war syndrome. It is said that after 18 months of being confined and told how to act walk and talk in short how to live that the person who is being controlled looses the ability to make choices for him self. Simple things that we take for granted like spur of the moment choices to roll with our friends or pay bills and so on are greatly challenged by the side effects of incarceration syndrome. It can also come from being reclusive. Look it up and see what you think on a comparison to the report you gave . I think you will find it fascinating to read and to incorporate in to the reporting formula you used to start the post.

  4. not sure how old many of you are but i can honestly say that ofter 40 its really hard to maintain a little hard body like i did back in the 80's. i dont think extra middle age weight makes anyone a bad person. does it make us a little less easy on the eyes? haha depends how old them eyes are thats looking. everyone changes its just the circle of life. round is a shape to ya know lol

  6. I saw this lineup today and was taken back for a second. this is almost the reunion in fact it is the reunion less 2 people. I would love to see a reunion but honestly I dont think Axl or Slash is stopping it. But if they choose to do it I know Axl will be on point back in better health strong voice because he is a perfectionist he cant half ass do anything its balls to the wall or not.

  7. http://youtu.be/pJXonPUeFt0

These brilliant minds say that sources tell them that it will happen at Coachella 2016

Why should I trust some hipster cunts who can't even get their facts straight?

I know it's fun to buy into the Axl myths, and he's sure done some weird stuff. But the Ninja Turtles and shotgun stories are long-refuted, it's been a while since he's regularly made audiences wait for hours to show up, and based on all his behavior over the past two decades, there's no way in hell the almighty dollar would be the sole motivation for him to reunite with Slash. "Bullshit reunion tours to make back the money he lost" -- due to the Best Buy presale, nobody really lost much money on Chinese Democracy...except for Best Buy. Axl definitely tours for money, but I think he could get by decently the rest of his life doing what he has been doing. If a reconciliation was reached with Slash it was surely on its own terms and not because either one of them are desperate for a cash grab.

I'm the last person to just defend anything Axl does, but there's so much bullshit in that video, which makes me seriously doubt they have any idea what they're talking about.

Haha hey I agree with you. These 3 people suck, so yes you're right, they likely know absolutely nothing! But sometimes it's these idiots that have made friends with the right people and on the off chance that he has a source similar to Trunk's then they might have heard something. A broken clock is right twice a day.

It's driving me nuts that everyone all of a sudden has a source and has heard something.

I aint gonna believe it til I see Axl Slash or Duff announce it. All this he said she said stuff is for the birds. Im a black n white person grey does not exist in my world

  8. I honestly believe they would be stupid not to reunite based on the money alone they could change history records again.

I also do not believe that they will reunite until they make one public appearance somewhere together.

by together I don't necessarily mean singing and jamming just simply showing up at a function the whole band together.

due to the extreme success they have been sucess has taken away their privacy they are all deeply embedded in the public eye. based on the fact that they have had all of these years separated and doing their own thing they have gained a very small amount of privacy once they reunite or commit to doing a reunite CD or tour they will never have privacy again.

  9. Axl all but begged for the Indonesian President to spare the people rather than use them to prove a point or a cause of fear. The President executed all but the woman involved. Sadly that in my view is mis=use of ones power that is granted as part of the position in life. I feel so sorry for these people who knows the lives they could have changed by the story the could have told. These people could have been a positive role model to others that could be headed down a wrong path in life. The fact that a single man who bleeds red and puts his pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us used his fame to lend aid to others is the best you can do. Being rich and famous and not helping others would be a selfish and shallow existence.

I have said before that I feel that the old mature Axl is a different man than big bad rocker dude Axl. I read the letter today and I was left almost in tears at the compassion he showed for people he had never met. I my self believe in forgiveness and giving people a chance to prove they have changed. It is a simple task that so many choose to not allow others.

This is a side to the once renowned hot head that I like. I like the new humble caring man way better than the man he was back in the day. I feel that he has found inner peace and this comment is coming from a person that is half Irish and half Indian coupled with the fact that I am a born and bred Texan. I know all about inner wars within ones own skin. It is not easy to overcome wars within self or family weather your a victim or the started of the feud.

Im all for positive life changes from anyone and everyone.

I feel the need to point out that Axl is the same man he's always been, or at least the same man he's always shown to the public. If you have a negative opinion of him as a young man then you only know the media's side of the story and never paid close attention to his lyrics and the things he says in interviews.

I think he's grown -- as most people do, if they want to keep thriving. He's the same person, but you don't hear about him engaging in some of the more destructive behaviors he had in the past. And he copped to those on his own. In fact, he's said himself that he has done a lot of therapy, both conventional and unconventional, to work on issues he feels he has, like anger management and attitudes toward women. Just looking at him in interviews from 1987 to 1991 to the recent Jimmy Kimmel one, he seems as though he's more settled within himself and that's been a work in progress.

As far as his letter goes, it's great that he's politically aware and felt strongly enough to write about it.

you verbed that so much better than me. thank you. i like the new axl and admire the strength it took to come out in the eye of the public. once you voice the demons that have a hold on you then they no long have the power over you they once had. to me, he has grown and i can see from what i see it is for the best.,

  10. it would be a hugely profitable business decision should they reunite however money has lost its value with them. Money can buy things we only dream of yet for them, I would venture to imagine that they would trad lives with us. I say this because they all payed the price of loss of privacy we maintain the ability to roll thru life doing what we want. I am quite certain all of the GNR members of GNR know that us the fans would love a reunion. In a way it would be them paying homage to us for sticking with them thru thick and thin. And I am sure deep down inside they have to wonder what would happen if they all hooked up again. None the less, Steven and Axl most likely cant be in the same place at the same time. Slash and Axl go together like peanut butter and jelly, Duff is a fukin hero for beating addiction. Seriously I got soooo much respect for him for beating the monkey.

I cant rule out the possibility that they could reunite and BTW I totally wish they would however until proof becomes a ingredient in the pudding I cant say this will happen. I dont think Axl is keeping it from happening. I think he would be willing I think they all would be willing I just dont see them making this option a top priority. Axl is a moody man and should be based on his scars he carries yet he lost much respect because he removed him self from the brotherhood of the band. Hell bringing shrinks and massages with him on the road those of us who live with depression, tension and all sorts of mood altering things daily cant afford the pre-madonna way of life he did. Those of us who saw the raw GNR as just normal people like us all had to say "Dude its just life take the bull by the horns and raise up or simply deal with it."

I recently got my first twitter acct, late in the game yes. Social media controls so much of our life. I have a facebook, chopped full very dear friends that I grew up with, I visit with most of them daily. My tweetie bird account is all about GNR cause most people dont dig them like most of us do. I love the fact that most if not all of the members past and present GNR have real accounts and communicate with the fans. This to me shows they care about us. They want some sort of interaction with us of course less the stalkers. Them people trip me the hell out.

Guns and Roses touched me deeply with first and foremost the honesty They were just a group a men dealing with fame while coming from nothing and all the while knowing where they wanted to end. The lyrics, well lets just say Axl and me did not have much different childhood lives in many ways. Slash, honestly this will trip many out, but I hold way more respect for him than Hendrix. That man OWNS they guitar.

Gods, hell no not one of them are a God. They are all nothing more than human no matter how much talent they have. WOW what a rant I ventured off on. I am a fan of OLD GNR trying to love new GNR. I saw Slash here in Dallas and totally tripped when he busted out Sweet Child and so many more because the riffs were right on the money but the lead singer was good but aint no Axl. I cant bring my self to go see Axl with the new dudes cuz I feel like I will trip out.

All I can say with a pure heart is this is one of those things that will or wont be. It is what it is.

But if it were to be all I can say is I would be glad to see them kiss and make up. Nothing would stop me from going. They were and are the greatest bad ever in my book.

oh no i dont hold a bad opinion of him in your years. I have been a fan of his in beginning it was the music that drew me to him but the more I saw videos of interviews or attended concers the more i respected him for his strength that it took to come out about his childhood situations. Im a firm believer that if you confess something that caused you to have problems then the thing that caused the problems no longer has the hold on you that it once did. what i was referring to is that i like this new axl because he seems to have calmed the inner wars that raged inside of him. he seems more at peace. that is all i ment the angrgy or depressed axl was taking over while he was healing. im sure that there is some mental anguish in him but i see where he has fought and won the wars that were causing the outburst

  12. As a fan more of the ORIGINAL Guns I would love to see a reunion. I know sales for tickets would be off the charts. I do feel that it aint gonna happen yet I can honestly say that things change and people forgive. Anything is possible in this thing we all call life.

For whats it is worth I think Slash and Axl make a great team and while they both hold their own in the world of rock combined they are without a doubt the best minds in the creative rock world. And Duff and all original members should reunite but I see no way that they will ever allow Steven back in the group.

  13. Axl all but begged for the Indonesian President to spare the people rather than use them to prove a point or a cause of fear. The President executed all but the woman involved. 14. It's like people that have been whining and crying for decades that KISS isn't KISS without Ace and Peter; the band's still gonna go on like clockwork as long as Gene and Paul are alive

This is a very true point. In all honesty I would never completely rule out a reunite however I wont believe there will be one until I see it fall right out of both Axl and Slash's mouth. I am more than certain that if there was one it would gross more if not as much as the use your illusion tour. But on that same note, Im old school GNR I am 48 yrs old and spent 10 yrs working in the music industry between the 80-90's. Based on my own view of the business I can honestly say that there does come a time when MUSIC is not all that matters. There comes a time when the price of fame has robbed you of all your privacy and the money becomes in many ways an embarrassment. They come to a point to where some sort of normalcy in life is all they desire so it is just my opinion for what its worth but I say if they did to a reunite tour it would be the last kind of like one goodbye kiss for all of us who stuck with them.

  15. My personal view may differ from most. I believe that the original GNR is not an individual person. It took all of them to make the band what they did. Popcorn aka Mr. Alder chose to not only put his self in danger but to put the band in danger my his choice of submission to his addictions. Not saying he was the only one using but he was the first to become a non functioning addict and had to be sacrificed so that the band could continue. It does not make him any less a part of the GNR foundation.

Due to the paths they all traveled to climb the hill of fame I feel that it bonded them for life. I see the new GNR as a business and the old GNR as more of family toward one another.

Slash was so junked up he was seeing little demons. He ran through a holiday resort stark bollock naked, fleeing these little demons.

Yet he never missed a show and showed up to rehearsals and was able to play....... :shrugs:

You just get into the high and create the sounds it simply becomes a way of life. Anyone who has ever had an addiction knows you push hard to stay functioning while you use. Once you pass the point of being able to work shit goes down hill fast. In the beginning before GNR was big back when they were just trying to make it is when the addictions began. The amount of success and money they got came quick. The culture shock and the power they struggled with did alot to feed the dysfunctional life they led while trying to find some sort of balance and adjusting to how life was going to be. I admire them for finding the best calm they could for the storm that of life that engulfed them. Personally I dont know how anyone would be able to handle all that change.
