Regarding Mannheim: if you watch the video of the show, Axl is hit by something after Live and Let Die, says "thanks a lot!" and leaves.

If you saw the Mahaneim's show on YT, you can see clearly at 25'10" (just when after Axl leave the stage at the end of LALD) Izzy shooting something (maybe the microphone ?).

  2. It's difficult to knows exactly. The Wertcher's gig 5th June 1992 was mentionned on my olds 92's magazines, it was also mentionned on "Gn'R on Tour" website. But according to you, there's nothing else about Guns N' Roses booking in 1992's Werchter Festival. Or, maybe it was shedulded and they cancelled long time before the kickstart of the europeean leg of UYI tour.

  3. Before this show Axl has seen on tabloïds, Stéphanie Seymour & Warren Beatty were seen together... He was on terrible mood ; at the same period's, he taken lots of vitamines, energetic potions and he dont sleep more than 3 or 4 hours per day.

They cancel next show in Werchter festival and go directly in Paris, for the 6th June 1992's famous pay per view show.

  4. I think in the top 10... You have the rolling stones, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Journey, U2, The Doors, ACDC, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Queen, The Beatles... Etc. GnR has to rank up there with them. Their quantity may not be a lot but they do have a lot of hits off of the few albums they do have.

    Journey ! It's a joke ?

Gn'R is apart band from the rest of rock n' roll history ; loved by them, hated by them but some of their songs were respected by all...

For many things they were number one of all rankings and for others things they just diseppear of memories.

The book's title "Guns N' Roses - A Band That Time Forgot" is well found.

  5. 1min55 to 2min10 : climax of "Dtj" solo's with awesome bends... Just after listen on the same disc "Dead Horse" solo (1min33 to 1min00).

The sound, the progression, the same tone, same skillz.

One truth : A big Les Paul 59 plugged into a big Marshall Jubilee ; and Slash behind.

Booklet notes was a mistake or a misunderstood, between writers, performers imho.

There are bends on the intro to Back Off Bitch.

My booklet also says that is Izzy.

So it must be Slash then?

Point is... Nobody knows 100% unless we get the answer from Slash, Izzy or Mike Clink.

For to make this kind of bends, you need a guitar with big sustain... On UYI recordings sessions, Izzy used one & only guitar .

In 1991's period, he was played on Les Paul custom (Rock in Rio 91), a Les Paul junior (3 dates of UYI's tour warm-up) and a Fender Telecaster during Alpine Valley concert in May 91 till' Wembley Stadium in August 1991, last Izzy's show with the band ; (until May 1993).

And, it's very specific with Izzy, from GN'R began to his solo career, he used one guitar by one guitar.

Slash was the only one to have THE GUITAR ! A Les Paul 59 replica built by Kris Derrig, better than better Gibson Les Paul exists... (Ok, originals 58/59 models were awesome indeed).

Anyway, it's like what you prefers : booklet lies or the shocking truth !

  6. Izzy plays the first half of the first Nightrain solo. He plays the Double Talkin Jive solo except for the acoustic outro I think, Think About You solo. Izzy plays that great rhythm electric guitar on One On A Million that totally evolved the song.

    Definitely no leads on Estranged.

You can totally tell its Slash playing Double Talkin Jive, that vibrato is finger print like.
Sounds like Slash, but it is Izzy. He's playing the same setup as Slash and so it sounds similar. I think the liner notes credit Izzy also. Acoustic outro definitely slash though.
Wrong. And it's easy to know because Slash tells many times, how many guitars he used on the "UYI" recordings. And he specified, Izzy used only one guitar(maybe a LPJ double cutaway, if anybody must confirm ?) during UYI sessions. Izz has written lyrics & basic music of "Double Talkin Jive", he sings the song, but Slash has performed both solos ! Izzy and Slash has différent tones and it's Slash tone, no doubt... For the electric solo, he used probably his Les Paul 59 replica and for the acoustic part he used a Ramirez.
    not ramirez, it's flamenco !

Guitar World : "Your solo guitar on "Double Talkin' Jive" is really impressive..."

Slash : "Thanx. I loved to make this stuff. This Ramirez is one of my best guitar's digging ; very expensive, but wonderful."

    Slash, guitar world magazine, 1992.

  7. For sure. It was an extract of Slash interview for "Guitarist Magazine" wich appears on french press into a translation inside "Guitares & Claviers". Slash has made guitar's sound facture of "UYI". Izzy told this fact, when he was listen "UYI" Cd's for the first time : "It sounded like a big Les Paul and a big Marshall ; where's my takes ?".
