  1. Am I alone in thinking that the speculated reunion, in its speculated format defies credibility?

Both Slash and Duff have made it abundantly clear in the past that they would not go back without the full original line-up. Duff has stated that he views Izzy as the most important member of the band, and that his departure was the catalyst to the band breaking-up. I know the offer of a big pay day can have a big influence, but still...

I'm not sure if the following has been discussed:-

    1. the audio clip of Welcome To The Jungle playing in the cinemas does not sound like any line-up of GNR from 85-93 to my ears, the crowd shots are clearly not from that period either
    2. If Steven and Matt are not invovled, why is Eddie Trunk citing that they are no longer in active communication with him? Surely Adler would be pretty vocal at the moment if he was still out of the equation altogether?
    3. When has Izzy ever said he dislikes touring? I know this is repeatedly stated, but I've never heard him say it. In fact, in a Juju Hounds-era interview, he explicitly said it wasn't true. Obviously, he hasn't been particularly motivated to go out and do it on his own in recent times, but has there been anyone pushing him to? Touring was stressful in '91 because of Axl's behaviour and the state that Duff and Slash were in. He was also newly sober himself, so wanted to avoid the triggers that could lead to relapse. The situation in 2015 is very different. In the rare interviews that he has given in recent years, he has said he would be open to a reunion. This is a one-off opportunity, so in the right situation he may well say yes (i.e. committing to an inital twenty shows or so, then taking it from there). When the Stone Roses got back together in 2012, Reni got behind the drums and played live for the first time in 22 years. At least Izzy has put out a tower of solo albums and made a number of guest appearance since then, which is more than could be said for Reni!

Let's not forget that Slash has denied this is happening via Vicky Hamilton. At this stage it could be a retrospective release/re-release. A new best-of? An AFD box-set? Who knows? There is just no primary source evidence out there. Anyone can say they have "multiple, reliable, insider sources" or that they ran into "Duff's brother's girlfriend's cat who confirmed that it was definitely happening". It's also very easy to say Steven and Izzy won't be there (we know reasons why that could be true), but what is the source? Hell, if I looking to up the number of hits on my website that's the sort of article that I would put out because people will read it and I can cite some reasoning. Also, don't forget Axl, Slash and Duff are the legal partners in the firm that constitutes the "original band", so primary negotitations would be with those parties.

I find the idea of a hybrid line-up without Izzy uterly depressing. There would never have been a Guns N' Roses in the first place without him.
