This might sound weird but the last minute and a half of Prostitute. It slowly fades into this cinematic orchestration. It actually stops me in my tracks and I have to pause and appreciate it. It’s not a sad emotional reaction. It’s more of awe inspiring kind of feeling. A feeling of finality. Kind of reminds me of chapters that end and a book closing forever.

I prefer the sound of some of the Chinese demos over the finished product.
The Spaghetti Incident is my second favorite GNR record.
Axl really isn’t fat. And it’s insane the amount of people who are so illogically hypercritical.
I think dolphins are overrated.

Reunion over!
I read that in Axl's rant voice. Lol

When Pitman was suing Axl he said he'd pretty much ran out of money in 2011 or 2012. I didn't really believe it or care. I eventually remembered that that's about the time Axl actually started showing up on time for concerts. Now this might seem cynical to a lot of people but TB and the band don't even care if this reeks of "hey, we've just made our money with this tour and everybody's paid, now let's just do what we really want." I mean talk about a transparent cash grab. It all is boiling down to the almighty green as being THEE motive and it's a sad that they're not even attempting to quash that narrative.

Don't be mad at Fernando. They need to have an occasional weird contention with someone to preserve Axl's mystique while he's actually doing nothing. Putting music out is for normies.

I've listened to the album quite a bit. The bad mix betrays the sophistication of the artistry. It's multifaceted in an some amazing ways but in some aspects is way overdone. Sometimes when you give a musician too much time they can definitely overthink certain things. To be artistically multifaceted without overthinking certain aspects of music that oughta remain pure is an incredibly hard line to walk and Chinese Democracy proves that. Also, the songwriting for me personally is hit and miss.
It's good enough for any old album but the long wait sort of decontextualized the album overall and softened any impact it might of had- especially if it had been released in 2002 or something.
It was just wrong place and wrong time by 2008. The album under the moniker of GNR is weird- for me, delightfully weird. But a large chunk of fans didn't think so. Plus it's not exactly Back in Black or Dark Side Of The Moon, so for most people, maybe not even worth the wait- especially for semi casual fans of the band. Truth is, it probably shouldn't have been called a GNR album. Horrible PR and it's obvious. Public relations is a huge part of music. And historically speaking, we all know this band/Axl has had issues in that department to say the least.

Axl's enigma has not aged well, and then this nail in the coffin...
Can we just officially disregard Axl's mystique any time we talk about him from now on? At least Crazy Axl gave us something to imagine with all of his elusiveness. This Businessman Axl I don't want to imagine.

Axl is really hard to gauge. I personally think the vocal change was something between personal preference and fear of vocal damage. I mean, to be 50 somethin' playing nearly 3 hours a night is hard enough, but trying to deliver power on every single song is a formidable task.
We know he can tear it up on Jungle - or any songs that are near the beginning of the show - so maybe it's just his way of ensuring himself some vocal sustainability. I dunno.

I think releasing it was the most rock 'n' roll thing to do, given that the song is like an earthquake hitting your brain. The first time I heard Axl singing the first few lines of the first verse, I almost kicked my bedroom door down in a sonically induced, testosterone rise.

You know for someone who has anxiety or stage fright, Axl and TB show no hesitation to blame the venues, flight delays, blah blah. Not to mention Axl also showing up late for meetings, court dates, dinners and his own birthday party. Sounds more like he simply sees himself as too cool for school.

I think it's run its course. I personally liked Chinese as an album, especially as a musician. It was versatile, layered and definitely unique. With that being said, I don't think Axl should have ever referred to it as GNR. An Axl solo project would've been more palatable to GNR fans. And as good as it is, it still had some problems: Firstly, it was poorly mixed sound-wise. It was also rerecorded so much that it sounds too synthetic at times. Secondly, they waited way too long to release it. But I think CD is enjoyable especially if you refrain from comparing it to Appetite.

This press release can obviously be interpreted negatively, but I will TRY to give tb and Axl the benefit of the doubt. But he's still canceled an upcoming tv appearance (a day before the show), and still looks pretty out of shape given the ONE recent photo of him. So a brief reminder: 16 years for one album, constant late starts, a canceled tour, going underground for years at a time. Yeah...

If he announces free tacos for everybody instead of a reunion... I might actually forgive him. Thin ice, ginger... Don't jump on thin ice.

Yeah you're right. I think I'm just being paranoid.

And be sued by the promoters of Coachella? I'm sure Axl has Fuck You money but I doubt he wants them on his ass. It's happening.Jesus, Axl is so flighty. I doubt this is a calculated pr move, given his history. I mean could the guy just constantly not fill his fans with doubt? I wouldn't be surprised if this whole reunion thing falls through at any given moment.

Newbie here. I've been reading/creeping on this forum for years now. I had a dream last night that Axl went on Kimmel and denied the whole reunion thing but brought that fuckin burger truck to make up for it all. That tweet is some major trollage though.

I think he’s a pretty down to earth guy who genuinely likes making the fans happy. At least that’s always my impression. It’s pretty inspiring to see somebody like that who’s that famous.
