  1. Well...  This was some kind of "insanely memorable" show.

I know slash had "one of those days" but still this is guns n' f...n roses baby.  This show must be added to the " nice for a live dvd" list (along with san Diego, houston, etc etc)

Even the mcbob intro was extra nice.

Axd did a wonderfull job, and the band had that "feeling" . .. And with those 90.000 people going crazy...     Im really loving all the vids

  2. So .. I casually heard this on the radio. And well..

This band called "pretty reckless" (ive never heard of them before) have this song called "oh my god" wich would mean nothing, but when u listen to the song carefully...

Take a look and let me know if im going crazy

Just chek this out and share what u think:

Plus, at some particular momentos the music kinda haves some olg gnr/snakepit sound/spirit or whatever dont u think?

  3. Wow .. 400 weeks??

Is unbelieveble how gnr haves so many acomplishments with so little work.

Just 4 albums of original stuff and its enough for them to reconquer the world whenever they feel like.   They were that unmatchablely ENORMES.

That "greatest hits" had no promotion at all, the band didnt existed by then, and yet the álbum was number 3 on billboard and now its just the 7th álbum ever to reach that (plus it has sold 6 million copys and counting).

When u think about it, the álbum was just ONE NEW ORIGINAL song short and a little promo from being number 1.  Its insane.. But thats just another proove of how giant, diferent and special Guns N' Roses is and was.    (How nice is to say that in "present", )

November rain just reached 800 million views.  The most viewed vídeo on youtube for any band ever.  ( and if u put togheter all the non vevo/oficial nr vids is close to 900 million views)

The second most viewed vídeo ever for a band?? SWEET CHILD..  with 488 million views ( more than 550 million if u include the non vevo scom vids)

    What a band..

you guys seem to be real pros, you know how to get a person to talk

there are so many people in the GNR universe that would be fascinating to listen to on your podcast, specially people from the early days who have interesting stuff to say.

my first pick would be chris weber who played with axl and izzy on hollywood rose, co-wrote anything goes (and shadow of your love also, if i am not mistaken), he may have a lot of insteresting stuff to talk about them specially songwriting stuff and how they were pre-fame

oh, and i have to tell you this, one of you guys mentioned that GNR is great "because it made the transition to piano yada yada",

you are completely mistaken on this. the entire planet -- guys and girls, young and old -- was ADDICTED to Guns n Roses in 1989/1990 pre-illusions. The "rocker" guys were into everything, they loved appetite from beginning to end, and the girls and the more "generic pop audience" also liked/loved the band specially due to sweet child o mine and patience.

no need to november rain, no need for axl piano "epics", they had already conquered the planet way before these songs came along

hadn't axl pushed the issue to turn GNR into his piano epic eletronic whatever band, we would have dozens of great GNR albums by now

Totally disagree.  And the 800 million views of NOVEMBER RAIN VIDEO ( by far the most viewed for gnr and any other band on youtube) also shows youre wrong.

I liked like crazy the afd and líes. But the illusions were the albums that made me became a GNR insane , and made me decide to be a musician.

I know gnr was already the number 1 band after afd and líes, but the illusions took them to the next level, genius axl work, besides most songs were already wrotten befor lies came out.

If u wanted a colection of albums with the same music thats good for u and i respect that, but that would never get u to the places that gnr conquered. Evolution does.

Im 100% sure that if slash and duff wouldnt have leave the band songs like twat, better or til would be memorable hits by now.

Its almost some kind of profanity or something like that if u dont recognize the succes and artistic value of the "illusions albums".

Septem, are you from Venezuala? If so, I hope you are safe!

Yep man.. Thanks..  Things are undescribeble hard here.

Goberment is killing people (specially teenagers) every day since about 50 days a go ( we have 67 deaths so far and counting)

Yesterday they broke in to a building close to where i live and just took people away to "military jails", broke a part every single car on their way and killed 2 guys.

And there s. so much more i can tell u.  This is literally a living hell.

Im sorry to bring up all of this.  I apologyze to everybody for writing this, now more than ever GNR is my little window to smile and enjoy.

    Thanks for asking man.

Yes, Slash and Duff are friends with everyone now. I'm not sure about back then. It seems that Slash looked up to Hetfield but I don't know if it was reciprocal (I doubt it).

Also this story (probably most people here have heard of it) from the promoter Barry Fey:

And then there's the one about how he supposedly held a gun to Axl Rose's head when the Guns N' Roses frontman mysteriously disappeared from a gig at Mile High Stadium that Barry had booked with Guns and Metallica (spoiler alert: didn't happen, even if Lars Ulrich remembers it differently).

    ....

    So what's your favorite story?

I guess my favorite story... oh, God, that's hard. Dave, that's really hard -- and I'm not being cool - but the one I had most fun with is debunking the story that's not true.

    What's that?

The Axl Rose story, as told by Lars Ulrich. You've heard about that one, right? That story is, I guess, the most famous of the stories. We had Guns and Metallica at Mile High. And there was 48-49,000 people there. It was a big tour, and they alternated closing. One night, one band would close, and the other night the other one.

This one, Metallica opened, and... the whole story's in the book, but I'll tell you... Metallica opened, and I went out - it was a great set - I went backstage for the opening number of Guns. I went out, and they played "Welcome to the Jungle." I'm walking out - I'm going to give you the language, and you clean it up however you want; I'm just telling you how it happened - I'm walking backstage, and this guy comes running out and says, "Barry, Axl just left."

I said, "'The fuck are you talking about, 'Axl left'?" So I ran backstage, and I found out that he had come down off the stage, got into the limousine and left the site. So I said to... I went up to - his name was Big John; he was the guy who ran the limo company - and I said, 'You don't work for him; you work for me.' I said, 'You ever want to see another fucking dime of this company's money, you get that car back here.' And he said, "What?" I said, "Yeah. The only way he gets out of that car is if he jumps out. And if he jumps out, you leave him in the street. But you get that car back here."

So he gets on his little telephone. People are getting a little pissed by this time. Guns is up there just jamming, right? They played "Welcome to the Jungle," and then they didn't do anything; they were just jamming, and people were getting a little pissed off. In fact, I found out that they were taking their Guns N' Roses T-shirts back to the concession stand and throwing them at them and saying, "Give me a Metallica shirt."

So I went into the Guns and Metallica dressing room. So Guns sends down an emissary -- and this I know for sure because I was standing there within three feet - and he tells Lars, "Would you guys consider coming back up and jamming with us, because the crowd's going to get out of line?" So Lars tells him, word for word, "You bozos don't have enough money in your collective bank accounts for me to get back on that stage."

So at that point, I left the dressing room, went back out to the parking lot and got my .357 out of my glove box and put it in my back pocket. So I go out there, and I don't know what I'm going to do, because, you know, he had caused a riot in Montreal, I believe, by leaving and not coming back. Well, a few minutes later, the car comes back, and Axl gets out and talks to his manager - his name was Doug Goldstein; he was a glorified security guy; he use to do their security, and he took over their management. But how do you manage, manic depressive heroin addicts? That's a pretty good trick. I don't know how you do that.

So he [Axl] comes and talks to his manager and goes right up on the stage and gets back into it. So I put three of my, what do you want to call 'em, security, goons, thugs -- the toughest ones I have - at the top of the stairs and three Denver cops at the bottom. My instructions are: "The only way he gets out, if he leaves again, is that way," and I point to the crowd. Doug Goldstein says, "Barry, you can't do that. Axl will get so pissed." I said, "I don't give a fuck about him, and I don't give the same about you. I care about them," and I pointed to the people.

So that, basically, is what happened. But Lars tends to tell a different story, and Lars has far more credibility out in the industry than I have. He swears I put the gun up to Axl's temple and said, "Get on that fucking stage or you're going to die." It [his .357] never left my pocket. But every time he sees me today, he says, "Barry, are you packing today?" So that was that story.

Of course, that also was Slash's bachelor party that night. It was downtown at the Embassy Suites, which is no longer there. They were handing out little tickets - a blue ticket, like if you wanted a blow job, a yellow ticket if you wanted to get laid, a red ticket if you wanted to do both. It was a crazy night. And it turns out, I found out later, the reason Axl left was because he had a fight with Slash on the stage. But you know, I didn't really care. I just... I wasn't going to let him get away with that.

And Lars says to me, "Don't tell me you wouldn't have shot him." I said, 'Oh if he's not going to go on, he's going to get shot." But it didn't have to happen. So that's a great story, but it's true. That's the way it is. If you hang up with me and call Lars, he'll tell you the story, "Yeah, Barry put this fucking gun to his head." Didn't happen.

    http://www.westword.com/music/barry-fey-on-that-time-that-he-held-a-gun-to-axl-roses-head-and-how-the-business-has-changed-5693265

I don't know how credible the guy is though, because there are inaccuracies in his story (I don't think they were alternating closing, like he says).

No, metallica never played after gnr.  They like.it or not GNR was the main act on that tour.

Of course most bands didnt like gnr back then.  THEY WERE THE REAL THING AND THE UNDISPUTABLE NUMBER 1 BAND.

Jo newstwed.. U can talk as much as u want. The thing is u had to name a really huge important thing (gnr) to get others interested in what u say. Otherwise u're pretty close to the "Mr nobody" zone.

So theres hope for something more.

I get that we all want new gnr music ( last axl/slash/duff work we got its from 23 years a go)

But we have more shows coming (wich is wonderfull) and if a recall correctly a lot of people on this forum were dieyin for some arena dates.

So please stop complaining and lets enjoy this enormes tresure: gnr is back

    Peace.

  8. Well.. Judging by this new teaser.  Im gonna adventure to make a wild guess:

The words they used, the songs (interestingly they used 2 "live" songs.  Get in the ring and nightrain)..

Weirdly interesting that they uses a song from a record they didnt mentioned on those "timeline teasers". ( nightrain from LIVE ERA ALBUM)

So..  If i have to bet.. I would say its a LIVE ALBUM, DVD BR OR SO. ( posibly the LA show or troubador)

Hopefully they include a couple of new songs on it.

But this is just a guess.   We'll see.  ( god.. Its like clocks are working slower or something like that.. Even my little nephew and his pal are exited)

  9. We all know how this awards works last 20 years or so.

Labels pay and negociate almost every single award.   Most people inside or at least close to showbizz knows this for a fact.

The important thing here is that we know the tour numbers, succes and impact of gnr.  Even  beyonce was wearing gnr shirts last year.  And that chris something from coldplay im pretty sure is embarrased as we speak.

So come on u guys. GNR is waaay bigger than this.

  10. DEAR G-SUS ..this is so exiting. There r no words to describe how much i love this band.

Ive dreamed about stuff like this for so long (20 years). And now they are again the number 1 band in the world, the most succesfull act out there... AND AGAIN DOING THINGS THEIR WAY, TEASING FANS AND MEDIA.

I thought i would never experience again the exitement of a gnr news/rumors/new stuff.

But the reunion rumor, the coachella thing, that troubador mistery,.. And now this.. What could this be??   It could be a lot of things.

Judging by that "timeline vídeo" it must be something huge.

Days are gonna last about 40 hours each till' wednesday.

  11. I like there vídeo. And i totally get it.  Obviusly its focused on the current big members. Since neither izzy, or sorum or adler arent there, i dont see why they have to put them there.

On the other hand..  We have right here an undisputable proove of how ridiculously unfear is some people with axl on this forum. ... Let me explain myself:

So .. On that little promo vídeo they pretty much kicked a side the whole CD 2000-2014 era.

And most people here said nothing. Some barely said something here and there but thats it.

What an enormes gesture from axls,( we all know the work, fight, suffering, time, etc etc that it took CD for the red head. .. And yet they just name it like some little whatever stuff )

What if things would have been diferent?? What if they would have gave a looong space for cd era, cd members, etc..??  I think we all agree that by now the forum would be colapsed of people insulting and craping all over axls guts.

But, since some of u just have to complain about stuff (just because....// kinda like that grandpha simpson yells to a cloud))., know u're bitching cause they dont mentioned FORMER members that actually ARENT WITH THE BAND RIGHT NOW.

I repeat. I love the vídeo., i love this band with my skin, my bones and my blood.

Cant wait for this super extra historicly succesfull tour to continues on a few days.

True that.   Just sayin ( considering all that bad blood not sharing not rehearsing crapy old tales) that is nice to see/hear that.  Plus it was filmed by slash.

Thats WITHOUT QUESTION axls voice right there.

Pd:  if somebody doesnt recogn axls voice on 2017 (im talking about fans of course), ...
