  1. I remember it well. The leaks where out when I woke up. Put them on my phone and listened to them on the way to school. Better was only 1.20 as some here has said, and it was rumored to leak later. So that was pretty exciting. This was the time before the tour was official If I remember correctly, and there had been a Axl sighting at a Korn show or something.

On this forum, it was the bests of times.

  2. We are probably getting smarter as a whole, but it doesn't look that way when people and the media loves exposing the stupidity of others. We've been making great breakthroughs in most scientific fields the last 20 years thanks to the internet and how it has connected the academic community. At the same time we got: "Americas funniest home videos, Jackass and youtube exposing idiots too the world. So saying that the world is getting dumber based on how you perceive people is like discarding global warming based on a chilly day in June.

We're not as "handy" as our grandparents were, as mentioned earlier in this thread, and as stated earlier that is because we don't need to be. A great society is a specialized society where each member can specialize most of their work effort towards separate goals that as a whole create the best of everything. If we all needed to be handy, then we wouldn't have much time to specialize and really excel in our fields.

  3. Got Infamous Second Sun yesterday and I must say that it's a really good game. I already liked the first two, and this might not be big as the other, but it is fun, and it got that Infamous feel. The graphics are FANTASTIC! By far the best looking game on the PS4, and it might be the best looking game I've played. Or at least up there with Crysis 3 on PC. If you have a PS4, this is a must buy.

Oh, and the Main character is a DJ Ashba lookalike.

  4. Haven't read that book, but seen a few movies based of it, and some documentary and synopsis on it.

How good of a book it is depends I guess. Thematically I don't agree with her vision of the future and the state, but it can be a good start to some other political philosophy. The premise of the story is a oil crisis and the government is trying to block the industry leaders from building new profitable railways. So it's about the government hand trying to stop innovation and prosperity. The main character is the good business woman, and her brother is the guy trying to please the government. Needless to say who "wins".

The problem with Ayn Rands thinking is that she believed that the marked in it self is good, and that the rich has good intentions for the poor and the well-being of mankind. But personally I don't believe that to be true. The idea that wealth trickles down is not very well empirically founded, since the wealth gap is ever widening, meaning that wealthy people are getting wealthier compared to the rest of the population. So I don't believe that Ayn Rands free marked is the best, is the right way to go, since most of the wealthy states in the world today are wealthy partially because trade regulations.

  5. Nobody is suggesting that Axl is perfect, and hasn't made any mistakes. That's simply impossible.

Perfection has nothing to do with being good, good people make mistakes too. How a person responds to their mistakes is whats important. Are they honest? Are they trying to improve? That's what makes one good. It's more about the person's intent.

Axl has admitted any mistakes he's made, and has made real efforts to grow out of it and better himself when he does. Axl's intents are good. That's why so many have described him as having a good heart.

You are completely right that AXL suffered SEVERE abuse growing up. That's where Axl developed his Depressive mood disorder from, and that's something that too many people are much too quick to forget. Axls moodswings are a direct result of his Depressive Disorder. So by labeling Axl an 'Ass' for his mood swings is to attack him for a disorder he can't help. The people that judge him by his mood swings are the REAL a##holes!! Picking on a abuse-derived disability is completely DISGRACEFUL!

Axl's childhood abuse even caused him to stop maturing emotionally at the age of two,

"My growth was stopped at two years old. And when they talk about Axl Rose being a screaming two-year-old, they're right. There's a screaming two-year-old who's real pissed off and hides and won't show himself that often, even to me. Because I couldn't protect him. And the world didn't protect him. And women didn't protect him and basically thought he should be put out of existence."

All the abuse also caused some issues for Axl, of course since he isn't made of stone, and has in fact even been described as naturally very sensitive, but notice how Axl handles it,

Look at these statements from Axl that TOTALLY CONTRADICT what has been wrongly spread against Axl's character'

How do you stop the cycle?

"I don't know. It's finding some way to break the chain. I'm trying to fix myself and turn around and help others. You can't really save anyone. You can support them, but they have to save themselves. You know, you can live your life the way you have and just accept it, or you can try to change it. My life still has its extremes and ups and downs, but it is a lot better because of this work. I'm very interested in getting involved with child-abuse organizations. There's different methods of working with children, and I want to support the ones that I believe in."

Now that's truly GOOD AT HEART.

What the hell is this? Looks like a Myspace page from back in the day.

Just because you can use colors and different types etc, doesn't mean you should, but we get of track.

Is Axl an egomaniac and an Asshole? Probably. Is there nuances? Yes, he is a person, and often a person has a complex set of behavior impulses.

As some said earlier, as you get older, the more you cut through the bullshit and sees the world for what it is.

Edit: Bipolar can at best be an explanation, not an excuse. Stephen Fry is bipolar, and he doesn't bit Swedish security guards in the leg etc.

  7. I've got one and I must say I enjoy it.

This weekend I've played through Tomb Raider: Definitive edition. That game looks great and plays even better. If you haven't played it on the old consoles yet, that is a sure buy. I've also got NFS:Rivals and Killzone. I'm not that big on shooters, but I got Killzone as a pretty game to show off my new console, and it is pretty.

One thing that is fantastic with the PS4 is that it really is instant. If I've allready started playing a game and want to watch netflix. If I've opened netflix earlier, I can be watching breaking bad 1 second after I left the game. And I can get back in the suspended game where I left of one second later if I so please. It's great!

But it needs more good software. Looking forward to Watch Dogs and Infamous Second Sun.

  8. I like that he posts so many selfies too... he don't give a fuck

    Yes he does.

Anyone who posts pictures of themselves is just baiting for attention.

I know from first hand experience. Trust me. But now I'm getting fat and don't give a shit anymore. That's when you've hit Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. You fucking accept the fact that you're going to grow old and become a fat asshole. It's the circle of life.

McCoy will hit that stage eventually. It happens to some people later than others.

At what level of Maslow's hierarchy of needs do you find yourself on. As far as I remember there wasn't an "accept your fat destiny" level, but it might go under your self realization level.

  9. Mirrors Edge is one of the best games of the past generation. At first it's not that fun to play, but when you start to get a good feel for the control and a good flow, that game is fantastic fun to play. The aesthetics of the game was very fresh and vibrant when every other game was a different shade of brown.

Really looking forward to a sequel on the new hardware. With the Frostbyte engine, that game is going to look fantastic.

  10. After what I've seen on this board, this thread might be a good idea, but it is not accurately named. In the threads I've seen a McCoy post it is usually the same thing. He post some problem, photo or whatever. Then you get 2-3 pages with the same "popular kids" giving him "advice" on how to be a better man and giving him criticism for his actions/style. So maybe this thread should be called "The thread for discussing other people so we can feel better about ourselves"?
