Sorum's ego clashed with Axl's and to be honest, there just wasnt enough room for two big ego's in the band.
Sorum is a great drummer, that cant be disputed, but he always seems bitter about GNR and i dont think he fully appreciates how big they were at that time. We could argue all day about why the band split up, but Sorum played a part in it just as much as anyone else. His constant berating of long piano solo's and orchestra presence was his downfall. The people who arent massive GNR fans paid to see the band perform those massive ballads and it was one of the main reasons why GNR were massive at the time.
I'm personally not overly fussed if he came back as a cameo, full time or not at all. Like i said, he is a good drummer but he is by no means a GNR legend. Give me Adler any day.

2 tickets bought for London on the 16th June. Nightrain pre-sale prices £85.00 each + £9.95 service charge each +delivery charge .... £195.40 all in for 2 tickets. Worth it in my own opinion. Bought the Nightrain membership for £35, so almost £230 for the lot.

Wow, Axl's voice on TIL from the 2nd Vegas show is incredible! Not an easy song to sing and he nailed it! Must be said, Slash's solo TIL rocks too

Awesome to see the promo clip in full BR. Published on the official GNR FB page too, so can only hope there is more to come. Agreed, the tiny clip of Better is insane to see Slash playing it!

His voice was always likely to change over the years. The drink, drugs and smoking probably gave him the rasp in many are accustomed to, but the guy is 54 and has matured. Look at Phil Collins, one of the worlds greatest singers and yet when he returned to Genesis for the 2006 reunion, he sang in a more grainy lower key and the band slowed the play down to compensate for it. My point being, Axl is not in his 20's and will likely never sound like that again.
People can take the p*ss out of his voice if they want, but i personally think in the clips i have seen, he sounds much better than he has done for the last 5 years or so. I saw them in 2006 in Glasgow and the voice in these new clips is not too dissimilar.

Just watched a YT video of Dont Cry at Auckland and it was one of the best performances of the song in a VERY long time. Axl's vocals were superb on it and there was plenty of rasp.
Cant wait for London!!!
