From what I've read, the Ritz in 1991 was not the same venue as the Ritz in the 80s. It was the former Studio 54 and had a balcony.

it doesn't seem to me that there's footage from Pantages (or other shows) in the YCBM video.

Upon further review…..you’re right. I never knew that the ritz in 1991 was a different venue. How confusing. That explains a lot - the video I’ve seen always felt bigger and it was. The lit up shot of the venue from 4:06 shows what looks like a studio 54 ceiling. Very pretty

Uhh..hold on but since when does that seem unlikely. And especially when he knows it's being filmed? That they included film footage from other shows, of which there are like 2-3 only, is a dumb conspiracy theory lol. What would even actually be the point of mixing in footage from other shows, when you have footage of the entire show where it was played, I don't understand peoples logic sometimes.

He’s right. You can see some shots from what I guess is the pantages theater. Ritz interior has an identifiable quality to it and not a theater type - no balcony

Yeah, we didn't even know the complete setlist they played in Las Vegas concert……. Las Vegas should have been released on DVD or Blu ray too, instead of just being audio.

I’m pretty bummed that this one isn’t getting released on film - feels so incomplete for it to only be audio. But like you said - at least we have the setlist now. I think it’s the same songs from the San Diego shows a few days later. Still excited to listen tho

The pics from the Munich show are actually not from the show itself but from the re-shoot they did in California somewhere

Not true. You’re thinking of the footage they used in the video with slash playing the guild doubleneck. The beautiful pics in this thread are indeed from Olympiastadion in Munich

I've been to 20 shows since Slash and Duff came back and loved every one of them. Would I like more UYI songs? Absolutely, those are my favorite albums ever. However, the shows are great and I'm happy that I can see those three together on stage. I've seen Pearl Jam more times than I'd like to admit, and they play many covers at their shows, too...and do them well. These shows aren't just for the die hards on message boards. I'll never forget them pulling out Dead Horse and Locomotive in OKC in 2019, and looking around and seeing at least 80% of the crowd having no idea what they were playing. The Seeker and Witchita got huge roars from the crowd. If people were disgusted with the setlists, they'd stop going to the shows...and they haven't yet.

Dude I was at the Oklahoma show as well. It is unreal to have been able to get the first dead horse since 1993 out of nowhere. And then Locomotive right after. I have to laugh at how lucky that seems

The truth is both Slash and Axl perform way below 50% of what is possible, even taking their age into consideration.

The difference is no matter how weak Axl sounds, 99% of the time he actually does hit the right notes, in like an F will be an F regardless of it being sung in baritone or falsetto.

Slash now often plays entirely wrong notes or scales that just don't make any sense within the harmonic structure of a song.

Who are any of you guys on the internet to say that a professional musician or singer is performing at any percentage of “what is possible”? What does that even mean. We are all just making up stuff at this point. The boys are 60 years old and touring across some of the most beautiful countries in Europe in the year 2022. Let’s be happy and celebrate that while we can. It will be better for everyone, and most importantly, ourselves

I would love it if they brought back The Garden. It’s one of the few greats on UYI, imo. The only thing is, it doesn’t really translate well to live. Like at Saskatoon 93, it’s cool to hear it, but even with the hq audio it’s a bit iffy.

It would’ve worked better with the Tracy, Roberta etc backing singers doing the ayyyyyyy vocal bits probably. Anyone know if it was played during their time, 92 ?

in a way, Garden is the opposite of DTJ. Garden done in the studio is reall good, but live it’s a bit sketchy. DTJ is great live, some of Slash’s best guitar work like Argentina 92 n 93, but album DTJ is a bit flat, doesn’t express the epic experience of the live UYI performances..

Great comment. I totally feel that now that you point it out. Love me some Garden

The Vegas 1992 concert has always been an enigma…. I wonder what the other one would be. Imagine being something like Locomotive or Breakdown. It would be killer. I guess we'll have to wait for the boxset to see. Also, every single song we know that was played that night sounds killer.

This was my thinking when I first heard about it. We could be getting a pro shot Coma, or like you said Locomotive or Breakdown. It would fly right to the top of the greatest footage we have of this band just like that

    It's Vegas 92 not 89.

If I'm not mistaken Rocket Queen and Paradise City from Liver Era are from this concert.

Also Ritz '91? There are plenty of footage from the warm-up concerts.

Give us something more interisting like THE FORUM concert that lasted for almost 4 hours when they released the UYI records.

Can wait for a Locomotive (Demo Version), Crash Diet reworked (w/ a lyric video like SOL), Just Another Sunday, Too Much Too Soon, Beer and a Cigarette and Bring it Back Home.

But this is GNR so we will have Ain't Going Down (again) and 17 different versions of KOHD.

Nightrain as well. Bro, for all we know GNR played Coma and Locomotive that night and now we could be getting it on blu ray. The set list has never been known. Plus Slash was wearing damn orange leather pants that night. This is probably going to be the best footage that we have ever seen

  10. Imagine this shit really comes out. Blu-Ray quality Las Vegas 1/25/1992, Ritz 5/15/1991, Great Western Forum (the last night where they played Locomotive, Dead Horse and all those other deep cuts), and more.

Finally that Las Vegas show is exposed and we find out the setlist. Come to find out that they played Coma & The Garden live that night and we get the pro-shot/remastered of each. Bonus points for Slash wearing orange pants. And a black t-shirt that says "STARE".

I was at Slane and yeah the energy and the crowd that night was fantastic. Irish crowds rock :headbang: And yeah it's a very scenic venue lol

Where you at the Slane ‘92 show?

also to the guy above me, Dodger Stadium 2 was indeed a kickass night for Axl. And that is 2016 standards

    What makes you say Slane?

Think Mexico has been the raspiest version since 2016, before that Lubbock, TX 2013.

There’s one YouTube video in particular that really captures the vibe of being there in that venue. It’s also still light out so that’s weird. The tempo is good and the energy throughout, especially the end, is awesome

also yeah, that Lubbock, Texas one is awesome!
