Ok, this is what I mean.... your words: ''particularly a celebrity''. Fame means nothing... the guy in your local supermarket isn't more or less important than someone who happens to be famous. I hate it when people look up to celebrities... that's why I also never understood the autograph concept. Why would I want a piece of paper with someone's name on it? I understand admiring someone for their talent, but I admire my postman for bringing me my mail every day too even in the rain, but I'm not asking him for his autograph either.
Anyway, I don't think asking this question would be implied as "I'm not fully satisfied with this finished product your presenting me!" as you put it. I don't think Axl is slow in the head, I'm sure he, and everyone else, understands that almost everyone wants to see the AFD 5 up there and how popular Izzy is. So it's really one of the most obvious and normal questions to ask. But that's just my opinion.
I'm not talking about LOOKING UP TO CELEBRITIES! I really don't think you understand what I'm talking about which is why you're twisting my words around. Because they're celebrities they get asked the same questions all of the time, price to pay for fame sure, but that doesn't mean it can't get pretty freaking annoying after a while (weather you're a celebrity or not.) Who (other than you) said Axl is slow in the head?! He's obviously a smart guy but with a volatile disposition. If I met him I wouldn't want to test that (although if I was a 16 or 17 year old kid again, I might have asked that about Izzy?)
Dude, do you know how many rock stars I met back in the day? Faith No More, Jerry Cantrell, Pantera, Danzig, White Zombie, Ministry, Black Sabbath, Trent Reznor, Queens Of the Stone Age, Iggy Pop, Social Distortion, Soundgarden, Motorhead and too many more to list. Most of these meetings occurred in the mid to late nineties (when I was a kid and really went out of my way to meet these people.) During that time I learned the best possible meeting experience was to give em space (after I show if I couldn't get to the venue during soundcheck which was always the best time to meet a band.) I remember talking to Glenn Danzig and some fan kept asking about the Misfits and reuniting with Jerry (a simple question yes but one many Misfit and Danzig fans knew he didn't like talking about), Glenn was like "nah, not happening man." Dude: "Well why not, it would be awesome I.... Glenn: "Dude it's just not happening." Now he was looking pretty annoyed at this point, off stage for only a couple minutes, came out to sign autographs for fans, people keep asking for pictures even though they clearly (and nicely) stated he wasn't feeling well and wouldn't do pics that night, but he would sign anything. A little later some of those people (after Danzig signed everybody's stuff and returned to the bus) were just bitch, bitch bitching. "Oh, he wouldn't take a picture with me! Waaaaaa, what a dick", et cetera... Danzig gave them a few inches and they were mad because he didn't give them a mile. They just couldn't understand that they were pushing they're boundaries lacking tact and common courtesy. Sure you may get away with more with say Chris Cornell or Mike Ness than you would GD or AR, but of all the known individuals that I've met or haven't met - Glenn, Axl (and Mike Tyson for that matter) are some I was a little more mindful regarding what I said around them.
Anyways, I hope you get to meet Axl one day and it's a positive experience!

Well, I don't treat rockstars and celebrities any different from non-famous people. I find THAT embarrassing. They poop the same as everyone else, you know. That being said, I really don't understand what's ''rude'' about asking a guy in a band a very obvious question concering his band... it's nothing personal or weird, it's a normal question.
Sure it's a normal question for most people in most bands and many of them probably wouldn't care or find it rude, but look at it from Axl's perspective too. As I noted earlier, it didn't sound like he appreciated that question posed on a sign in Tennessee and why should he? That is basically implying "I'm not fully satisfied with this finished product your presenting me!" Now whether they mean to imply that or not (and I'm betting most people wouldn't) really doesn't matter. Even though we all poop the same we also all have different ways of looking at and interpreting things. It would have been awesome if Izzy was involved but he wasn't and I accepted it when I bought a ticket and walked into NRG Stadium.
If I first meet anyone, particularly a celibrity, I wouldn't want to bring up something I had a feeling they weren't comfortable talking about. Especially if that celibrity could be a little sensative on certain issues. That's all I'm saying. I see he just addressed this question anyways.

I called the other day because I wanted to cancel my XL bullet t and either exchange for a large or straight up cancel and he said they were "processing" and it was literally about to ship. Wish it would have gone out Friday though. I still don't know if XL or large is the right size? I thought I read on here from a poster that these shirts will shrink quite a bit which is why I ordered XL, but when I look at pics of people selling these "official" shirts on Ebay, the XL looks like a god damn tent! Any info onthe shrinking factor would be appreciated.
Again, if you ordered the Skyline Bullet shirt, dude I called said they just got most of them and they're shipping out over the next few days. There are certain exceptions with multple cities although I don't know which cities specifically? I also asked if they would be getting some more shirts in they're inventory that were left after this recent US leg and he was pretty sure they would be adding some stuff ("yeah, we should see some US tour stuff soon.") So grain of salt people but keep checking. I should have stopped on the way out but the lines had formed again. I offered 50 to a guy on ebay for the official black NITL tour shirt, he wanted 100. SMH...

Great pic man! Congrats! Now to chime in on the new sub-topic of asking about Izzy. If I was in the thread starters shoes, I would definitely have made a point of not asking about Izzy, any bs regarding the original 5 beefs, splits, past loves et cetera. That would be kind of silly knowing Axl, (particularly with that chick holding the "Where's Izzy" sign.) Kind of rude as well. I wouldn't even bother asking about new music (even though that's a perfectly reasonable question to ask) because it's not like they will have time to start recording between Axl's ACDC schedule and this GNR tour that will keep going probably through most of next year. I would be nice, chill and polite. Many rock stars appreciate that much more anyways. He may be totally cool about it anyways but why bother? A pic and a handshake would suite me just fine.
If one was to ask about Izzy I would wait until after the pic, lol. I don't think you'll get the half smile this guy got. Probably the full frown.

I can't believe I was actually considering not going and letting my pit ticket go to waste. Couldn't find someone to ride with and even though some friends did go they didn't have pit tickets. SO I went alone and was freaking BLOWN AWAY! I never got to see GNR back in the day (didn't get to start going to concerts until I was 16 (late '94 was my first.) I did get to see Velvet Revolver on their first tour and got to see Slash, Duff and Matt perform "Used to love her", "It's so easy" (and "Sex Type thing" for that matter) but as great as that was there was still no Axl.
Wow, just wow! Axl's voice was freaking amazing and I've now come to love a CD song I didn't think much of when I first heard that album... "This I Love" is an amazing ballad, and the way Axl sang it sounded just like the studio version. I was really moved and blown away by that song. There's two parts in that song where he actually lowers his voice and raises it in the same breath; something very hard to pull of in the studio or live but HE NAILED IT! BOTH TIMES! I understand people when they say they would have liked a few more UYI cuts, but I can't complain (although I will nitpick a bit later) as I got to hear two of my most favorite songs from those albums in "Coma" and "Double Talking Jive!" I also loved hearing "Out to Get Me" which wasn't in the set list on some of the early shows of this tour but I'm glad they brought back. Live & Let Die was enormous (Wings on steroids) just like that video I remember watching as a kid.
Slash... What can you say about him that hasn't been noted?! The guy is fucking amazing! The Godfather theme and the extended jamming and solo on "DTJ" and the middle of "Rocket Queen" were freaking awesome! I'm honored to have witnessed the Slash and Axl dynamic (and Duff too for the record.) Seeing those guys full of energy, smiling, given their all, and just generally happy to be up on stage performing together again after all the BS was a gift to witness as far as I'm concerned. I just can't believe at 54, Axl can still sound like he does. His voice was great and he appears to be in the best shape he's been in years! Of course it would have been nice if Izzy was there and Steven too (although I've expected Steven to not be involved over the years based on the relapses and some of the stuff that went down regarding himself and Axl still happy they let him participate as it meant a lot to him and the fans) but all things considered I though Frank, Richard and Melissa did a great job! Love Melissa's back up vocals particularly on songs like L&LD. Plus she's so cute and sexy with those long legs and blue hair bouncing up and down, rocking out, totally into the show! I really like what she adds to the songs and performance.
My only nitpicks are:
1. I should have replaced my Samsung S4 before as I knew I would have trouble with pic's. I did get a few good ones (like below) but so many would be great shots were ruined due to a good phone with a shitty camera! My fault since I knew beforehand and decided to be cheap and chance it.
2. Patience should be played every show, or at least one song representing Lies
3. I totally get the UYI covers as they're part of what we grew up with and part of the band, but why WYWH and The Seeker when we could hear Patience, or Perfect Crime, My Michelle or UTLH? Don't get me wrong, I love their versions of the songs, and I certainly got to hear everything I wanted (except Patience of course), I just think a song or two could be better utilized IMHO.
4. Melissa and I didn't have a chance to get naked together
Overall it was an excellent experience I'm always going to remember! Gun's N Fucking Roses gave us a great show!

I love that song and really dug the performance from last night! I hope to hell they play it when they come to Houston in a few months.

Well, I couldn't get them for regular price on TM, but I got my PIT Ticket so I'm happy with that. Can't wait!

All of the Night Train pre-sale seats are horrible as well as the other pre-sales. You know what I suggest to everyone? Just get whatever tickets you want. This is a once in a lifetime thing. So save yourself the headaches and just get it over with on stub hub....
I'm still debating that. If I go StubHub now then I'll probably BE ABLE to get a PIT ticket during the pre-sale tomorrow, right. If not then vice versa. I wanted a hard (GA PIT) ticket and to be on the side of Slash (he's on the GA1 side, right?) but I guess I can't be too nit picky. One of the Resale site had pit tickets for around $379, that's about $450 with fee's and $200 more than face value. Sucks but not too bad all things considered.
-
I don't like the fact that I won't be able to print the tickets until a few days before the actual show. I just don't trust the listings from StubHub. If there is a mistake I won't have much time to do anything about it. I'll be in a meeting around 10:00am tomorrow, but I'm going to leave in order to be at my desk for the sale tomorrow (I don't trust the WiFi in our conference room.) In a haste I'll probably mess up (Cause I can hardly see the damn things) when selecting the anti robot pics. I'm torn between buying a tic now on stubbhub (that's not too highly priced at the moment) and waiting, Obviously I have no PATIENCE.
-
Thanks. Yeah, I always go for the specific tickets but at 10:06 I didn't have a chance in hell. We'll see tomorrow? I'm just glad I didn't drop 50 bucks like some of the other folks did. At least I didn't lose anything.

Thanks to those with the password help. It sadly looks like I'll have to get scalped to get the PIT ticket I want. I was in at 10:00 but did not receive the option for the spotify or live nation code until 10:06, at which time it was too late! Maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow. I empathize for those of you who paid for password and didn't get the Tix you wanted.

I said it because you keep inferring that I put rock stars or celebrity's on a pedestal! I didn't say you shouldn't ask him because he's a rock star, you tool! Ive given you many examples but people like you twist and manipulate to meet your own rationalizations (wrong or right) so whats the point? I shouldn't have even replied the first time because you clearly don't fucking get anything I'm saying.! Hell yeah, you literaly said "Axl is slow in the head (I'm guessing you're implying i said that which I obviously didn't?!) Your probably the type of person who provokes people, celibrity or not. You also don't seem to understand much about the history of this band (or Axl for that matter, lol) Either way you clearly won't understand so "why don't you just... FUCK OFF!"
