  1. I had been to the Dallas and Houston shows last year (as well as shows back in 91 and 92). Those shows were great. This one was phenomenal!  The band was on fire and were obviously having fun. Axl was in a great mood and everybody just seemed much more at ease than last year. I don't know if it was just because of another full year touring or because it was the last US stadium show but that was something special. We were in the 5th row on Slash's side for a perfect view. What a night.

Is that Arlington litho a different size? I thought every one from this tour was the same?

No it just has a large white border to it. Such a missed opportunity. Could have had a cool cowboy motifs but instead had to go with the loser Cowboys. Oh well, they still got my money.

I really like the Houston one

Houston one is pretty cool. Dallas, not so much.

  3. Will be there again tonight after a great show in Dallas.  Dallas had the front row center section.  Tonight center section row 21.  Looking forward to being a little further back for this one as to get a better overall view of the production.  Was great to see the band up close, now to take in the full scope of the show.

I'll be heading down this afternoon.  Hope to still be able to pic up a litho.

  4. First off, awesome show.  Was there in the front row near center.  Worth every penny.

This whole Axl v Slash thing is a bit overrated.  They interacted about a much as they ever did which was more really then Axl interacted with Duff or any of the rest of the band really. They were out there rocking putting on a show.  Seemed normal to me.

Keep in mind that it would seem all the great singer/guitar player combo's (Mick & Keith, Daultry & Townsend, Tyler & Perry, and now Rose & Slash) barely get along if outright hate each other.  But they preserver for business reasons and for the fans.  They've learned over the years that they are better together than apart.  Unfortunately it took Axl and Slash longer to figure that out.

There are things I would change about the show if I was the one putting it together but that is personal taste and not to complain about.  Bottom line, it was something I thought I would never see.  I left exhausted and happy.

You were in the upper levels at the stones show? And the sound was cool?

We were mid level and it was great but I don't recall seeing people leaving from the upper levels like was being said.

So AT&T Stadium is somewhat notorious for being bad for concerts. They designed the stadium to increase fan noise (i.e. echo) and thus there are many complaints about reverb in the 200 levels and above past the '50 yard line area' (i.e. as you get further back from the stage).  Just read some articles that said people in the 400 sections tend to walk out in droves (for acts like the Stones...no snarky comment)  and here's an article from back when the place opened in 2009: http://www.dallasobserver.com/music/the-sound-sucks-at-cowboys-stadium-but-the-bands-arent-helping-matters-6405558  I have no idea if opening the roof would help that much.

I have no idea about sales for this concert, but if you can negotiate your way down with TM, etc., this is probably one place where it can make a big difference in your concert experience.

    Luckily, I'm pretty close tonight.

Indoor stadiums are always dicey sound wise but I was at the Stones show and it was pretty good. Don't recall people leaving from the upper levels.

Obviously every venue is different, but all of the stadium screens at FedEx and Gillette were off at the shows I was at. Only the screens on stage were on. Might be distracting for the band to have the other ones on, although that's pure speculation on my part.

I went there for the Stones last year and they didn't us the big screen.

  8. Finally, AT&T Stadium is top of the board!  Been waiting for this for sooooooooo long. Saw them back in 91 and then again in 92 with Metallica and of course the various solo iterations since. This is truly a "Not in this lifetime" moment.

Went the VIP route for Dallas with seats in section C, Row 1 29-30. Will be in Houston too in row 21.

    Cheers!
