going back and watching this performance made me realize how technically good Axl was in 06, I mean this might have been some of the best vocals he's ever achieved in a live setting in his career and that's saying something. The strength in that clean voice overpowers anything in 02 and I believe this voice was the one he hoped to achieve originally when he was "trying to make his voice clearer"

really nice to go back and hear this I think as time goes on we see what 06 could have been in terms of potential.

The thing that strikes me is his vocals on CD are not as good as the vocals here. The way he transitions at 1:04-1:08 from clean power vocals to putting that grit on it is so unique to hear and shows how on point he was.

Not sure Axl can ever get this good again, he was only 44 here but now we are at a point where Axl's vocals likely will never dramatically get better than they already are. That's not to say he's not singing good now, but there were some moments in 06 that realistically stood toe to toe with his 88-93 prime voice.

Hands down my favorite cover Axl has ever performed. I would love for them to add this to the set list. I can only imagine how great a studio version of this would be!!

I have no idea who that is... literally. And that sucks because this is the show I'm going to.

Edit... oh, I see... another fake ass (check out the credits on his discography... most are co-written by song writers) pop.. er... "country" musician. Holy fuckin' hell lol. Guess I'll spend his entire set checking out merchandise and jamming nails into my ears to prevent from hearing it. Ugh.

Don't knock him till you hear him, his music is the real deal. Not like this modern day BS.

No worries there - there will be. Any tickets that people opt for the refund will be resold by the venue and the secondary markets (StubHub) won't get the premiums that they anticipated because for all intents and purposes, it's not what people paid for. You'll be able to find plenty at face value. It seems that anything the die hard AC/DC fans sell/return will just be scooped up by Guns fans. I also reckon many casual fans will still be interested since it's bound to be unique. I'm in the position where I'm a die hard of both bands as I'm sure many other people are, but nevertheless plenty of tickets will be available.

You might even want to check tickets now if they can be bought for Columbus. I can buy tickets right from the First Niagara Center site for the Buffalo show (it just says date to be announced). Great seats come up in all sections.

I too am a big fan of both, I have seen AC/DC twice and GnR 4 times. Going to Nashville in July to see GnR then Columbus whenever that will be. Tickets aren't available on ticketmaster. So you are saying to try the arena its self?

Yes - it was in the full press release. The dates themselves have yet to be rescheduled but I'd guess September or October.

I sure hope there are some decent seats left for the Columbus show.

  5. I don't ever recall Guns sticking to such a strict set list as they are now in the past, I may be wrong though. I have seen them 5 times over the years and always loved that they didn't really have a set list, it seemed to be what ever mood axl was in or what he felt like he could perform best at the time. Also the 5 times I seen them the show was never under 3hrs and 15 min. Im going to be in Nashville 7-9-16 my ideal setlist would be as follows.

    1. WTTJ

    2 Anything Goes

    3.Pretty Tied Up

    4. Dust N Bones

    5. The Garden

    6. Your Crazy
