  1. What do you like most with Guthrie Govan? the Erotic Cakes album or his work with The Aristocrats? :)

    I kinda dig Cakes.... :D

wow since bumble on the thread just had to chime in and say i finally lived my dream of seeing gnr live in december of 2011 in nashville. the band was perfect and ron knowing that you were in pain with each step you took and every time you held a guitar you were fucking outstanding!

Appreciate it, thanks a lot :)

Got to see Fozzy a few weeks back, Rich and Chris killed it live. Their past two albums have been some killer stuff. It's ironic you mention lending Rich guitars because the first thing I noticed on Sin & Bones was that his sound was...revamped. What'd you hook him up with?

Lent him the Bfoot sig model & a 2nd one, I don't remember if it was a fretless or a single cutaway.....

Hey Bumble, thanks for taking the time to chat with the fans, its awesome. I was just wondering if we can expect anything different or special for the vegas shows or if they will be similar to the last tour. Thanks again for chatting and being a kick ass guitarist.

Thank *you* :) Let's just wait and see what comes together before I speak about it - will see when we're all together and shootin' ideas... :)

  2. Music geek question coming :D

How much theory do you apply to the music you write or use to analyze the stuff you write? Meaning how much do you utilize all the shit that schools teach in theory classes versus using your ear and not worrying about identifying each and every little nuance, because rock music isn't the most complex in terms of applying theory (unless you are in Dream Theater or something lol)

Music theory explains why certain things react the way they do, but it's all about the *ears*. Do what sounds good, what moves you, forget what you know until after the fact......... :)

  3. Hey Ron, some quick questions:

    - ever considered playing Coma?

    - favorite pink floyd song?

    - the beatles or the rolling stones?

    I've considered it, yes.

Sooo many, but maybe Shine On....

    Beatles....

    How 'bout you?

  4. I've said in a dozen interviews that the plan was to get together with Tommy, Frank & write. Said in the chat it hasn't happened, family & health stuff needed to be my priority, and told what those personal things were. Said what I'd like to see happen, but that's all I got for ya. Sorry.

Isn't there another album that was already recorded that is more or less ready to go? What happened with that?

No secret that there's lots more music Chi Dem era music laid down.... with any album, nothing's ready to go until you feel like it is - and even then you still feel like there needed to be changes after it's released, that's just how it is when you make an album. It's up to Axl when he feels that music is ready to give to the world, I don't have the answer. I can't speak for anyone but myself - again, sorry. :P

  5. Attention. That's all they want.

    This.

The nice folks here have a life outside of GNR, so do I. They don't. :P But they must have a good life, imagine if your biggest problem was worrying about what some guy ya don't know does with his life... stick 'em in a starving country, give em some perspective.

Just had a good workout with the arm gadget thang I got - low-impact, great for injury rehab, hit me up if anyone wants info :)

    Ron

No offense , and don't get me wrong here, you seem like a cool dude,

But people want to know about NEW SONGS! and the future of Guns N Roses. Playing the same set list for almost a decade is starting to get old. PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR NEW SHIT!

And whats your point with the starving country crap? I was in Iraq for a year, just saying.

EDIT: Is there a future? Or "can't you say"?

I can speak til I'm blue in the face but certain one-track minded people will say I've said nothing until they hear what they want to hear. As for time served overseas, God bless ya, I'm a supporter, and that's what I'm talking about - insulting a bandmember because you don't like what Axl did thusfar is pretty fkn petty in comparison to the real world, NO? Even when I'm here, I'm still in the real world and keep it in perspective. Most people here do. The ones that don't are obvious, and tend to ruin it for the rest of ya's. You can disagree without disrespect. Not enough of that here, & ya know it. But I came here anyway and spent time with ya's. Am glad I did. The few cupcakes on here won't ruin it for the rest of ya's, it's as easy as simply not caring, lol :)

  6. If I may take a minute away from the trollers, THANK YOU RON! You are incredible I will always remember the Electric Factory show in Philly. Even though you were in obvious and excruciating pain, not only did you play your ass off, but you hung out with us in the pit before the show, and took entirely unreasonable amounts of time hanging out with fans out back afterwards. One of the coolest nights of my life, and I can't thank you enough. Thanks for always being here for your fans, and just generally being a total fucking boss.

His awesome to the fans good to everyone

I remember man, good to meet ya! :D

  8. Like I said, big talker when I'm *logged out*, lol. COME TO VEGAS.

Anyway, again, was a pleasure to chat with a lot of ya's. :)

lol... Don't flatter yourself. I had no idea you were logged out. Anyway ... regarding your invitation to Vegas, sorry. I don't travel to see coverbands. Don't worry, though. I'm sure I'll be able to keep up with what's going on when you send your pissing and moaning tweets about how Axl is putting you, the crew, or the rest of the "band" in danger.

Have fun covering Slash's riffs in Sin City.

Yup. I'll keep living, and you'll keep reading :)

  9. I think most of you are fans of the band and like interacting with the band. We like it too. :) And some of you are just looking to make trouble from the point you reach out to what you do with the responses. It's pretty unnecessary. Everything's your choice, folks - I'd rather be your friend and get along and have a good time together, not make things negative, have drama, negative attention tactics... not necessary. We'd be more available without all that, and would like to be :)

From a bandmembers point of view. We're not 'the enemy'.
