  1. Saliva???Muse????????????Alter Bridge?????????????

Guys!!!You are GnR fans...how the fuckin' fuck can you listen to that crap?

    it makes my ears bleed!

Bon Jovi's box set is coming out in 4 days...

Ah, and Europe's last record is ok.It's better than most of their fellows albums. It contains some really good rock song sbut also some nickelback type of shit.

All in all a decent album.

  2. worldwide album sales are between 50-60 million.

    50-60 million eh???

well...that would mean they easily sold out bands like Metallica, Guns N' Roses or Aerosmith outside America and it would also mean they sold as much as U2 or Bon Jovi outside America.Wouldn't be anything wrong with it, if these bands didn't have twice as long careers.

Well...you don't know shit! How old are you? I mean, the last time I've seen someone making up that kind of numbers was when a 15 year old boy tried to tell me how much bigger Megadeth are than Metallica.

  3. Who the hell wants to see this band???

I mean..."Blair was supposed to be the saviour" shit. Come on...a saviour for what? And how can one compare them to The KINKS who are like the second biggest British band ever?  It really doesn't get in my head.

I have listened to really tons of music, from Punk to storytelling rock. Also OASIS...but why there is such a mania for some guys who pretend to be the reinacarnation of John Lennon, that's one thing I won't understand.

    says the twisted sister fan.

seriously have you ever tried to educate yourself about music? and how it appeals to people? sure twisted sister might sound fucking great in a club at 2am when your out of it but can you seriously respect the merits of those fucking bands like twisted sister and cinderella and motley crue, can you fuck! :)

Hehe...well...your post is just ridiculouse and i have no clue why i answer.Probably because I want to be ridiculouse too.

    Well, ok then.

You're accusing me of not educating myself in music.Well...

Actually TWISTED SISTER are a band who actually revolutioned rock music. It might sound funny but they really tried to do it in a funny but also rebeliouse way.

Have you looked what names are playing on the Twisted Sister Tribute cd?Have you actually listened to STAY HUNGRY which is a masterpiece that deserevs it's place on the same shelf with Apetite for Destruction and Back In Black.

What have Oasis created.Let me try to quote one of the Gallaghers:" Why should we try to write something new if so much has been written before?"or something similar...

Well, that just about says it.

Motley Crue - it's not a must to like them. They couldn't even play their instruments sometimes but they gave back SEX, DRUGS AND ROCK 'n' ROLL to people. One may say that's not really good but hey, Guns N' Roses were doing the same with Apetite. And besides, Motley Crue have at least 3 classic albums and they will 100% be rememebered for much longer than OASIS.

That you bring up Cinderella in this discussion proves you have no clue about Cinderella, you have no idea what their albums sound live.

CINDERELLA is the most BLUES influenced band of the 80s. Actually they are purte blues rock. Tom Keifer is in my and not only my opinion the male version of Janis Joplin.Their songs are excellent and even their 90s albums like STILL CLIMBING are a class of their own.

Not to remember your opinion on VAN HAEN...you said their 3 best songs are Jump, Panama and Erruption...that's like D'oh!

So now, you are teaching me lessons about music education?I mean you, who judges a band by their appeearence, by their big singles and by the current you heard they would fit in. What's this if not prejudice?

On the other hand I listened to EVERYTHING...even to britpop and there's a band I quite enjoyed namely THE VERVE. There's another band you prbably never heard of called ZOB who I actually loved. But hell, I am not music educated.

One more thing: something like education in music shouldn't exist. We should listen to what applies to us, to what makes us feel good. But we should give bands a chance. I certainly listened to Oasis but I still wonder how comes somebody like them have this succes and other British bands who created something UNIQUE like URIAH HEEP get to be overlooked. I mean i haven't seen anyone on this board saying that he listenes to them. Still songs like July Morning, Lady in Black or Easy Living are masterpieces...but that's another topic.

  4. *edit* I've just check your profile and seen that you are from Romania. I therefore don't expect you to get it. They were band who's aim was to appeal to people in Britain

    Now that's really funny.

Your last comment would mean I wouldn't like The Kinks either who are , YES ARGUABLY, the 2nd biggest British RnR band , because you said yourself they just apply for British people?

Let's take Bruce Springsteen for example who's been always singing about thw American Working class...well what??? Does this mean he sucks , ot I think he sucks, just because he doesn't sing about the Romanian working class?

    Shit, no!

Do you know if they played acoustic before???

    Just wondering!

  6. one word: INFLUENCE

yes they influenced a lot of awful bands :)

    Right...

Let's take UGLY KID JOE for example...they said their biggest influences are VAN HALEN and BON JOVI...well...

    whateva' sista!

UGLY KID JOE? yer man one of the best of all time

cmon man, its time to take the gloves off.

their best songs, panama, jump and eruption.

I can only appreciate one of those songs.

I don't get what bands you'd like to be influenced by VH or BJ? Ugky Kid Joe were at least one of the last bands that had some good tunes and made it quite big.

    Well...as I said...MTV...ok, Erruption wasn't played.

Right now, I''m listening to Seventh Seel with Hagar...and it just kicks ass!

But as I see, it doesn't make any sense. You'll never change your point of view so let's just stop it.

  7. This poll has been done sooooo many times and VH ALWAYS wins . Every member is more talented than any BJ members and most VH songs kick BJ songs to the curb . VH is a great classic rock band that has always had an edge to them , calling the "weak" is a joke listen to albums like VH1 and II , Diver Down or WACF and you'll see they were ass-kicking . Some Hagar stuff is a bit lighter and "poppier" but all of BJ's stuff is like that .

    Peace GnR Nation B)

Actually, your last sentence just proves that you have heard only BJ Singles.

I have the whole Van Halen discography and of course the whole BJ discography and I can name 20-30 BJ songs that are heavier than anything Van Halen have done.

And about 10 that are heavier(musically, not lyrically)than everything Guns N' Roses have done.

  8. I dont watch MTV, again why do you think Mtv is some holy grail for music?

No!Your only "argument" in your previous post was JUMP.And it'as kind of silly to judge a band by only one song. That's what MTV Generation does...

  9. Well, I think I have already been to the best Festival.

    HEINEKEN JAMMIN' FESTIVAL 2003:

    1st night:

    METALLICA

    Placebo

    Stone Sour

    +some other small bands

    2nd night:

    BON JOVI

    Dave Gahan(Depeche Mode)

    Tricky

    Live

    The Music

    Anouk

    3d night:

    IRON MAIDEN

    Zwan

    Cradle of Filth

    Murderdolls

    Lacuna Coil+ others

    Well...ok, it wasn't quite perfect.

But my dream bands to see during a 3 day festival were:

    1st night:

    AEROSMITH

    GnR

    Motley Crue

    2nd Night:

    BON JOVI

    Alice Cooper

    Skid Row

    3d night:

    AC/DC

    Twisted Sister

    Whitesnake

  11. jump is one of the worse songs ever.

if i had to choose Id choose van halen, but still i dont think either deserves a vote :)

That's pure ignorance. I bet you judge Van Halen by some poppy songs(even if Jump just kicks ass)you see on MTV or hear on radio.

That's just stupid. just buy Van Halen I or 1984, or download them and you'll see how it will change your mind.

Same with Bon Jovi. Buy New Jersey or Keep The Faith or 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit and give them a listen. Then have an opinion!

  12. Well:

Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Skid Row, Van Halen, Kiss, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, Poison, Bruce Springsteen, Sepultura, Pantera, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Europe, Uriah Heep, The Scorpions, Lenny Kravitz, Cinderella, The Sex Pistols, The Misfits, The Clash, The Pixies, The Dead Kennedys, NoFX, Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, The Who, Steve Vai, Buckethead, Richie Sambora, Free, Rockhead, and a whole bunch of others.

And of course classical music. Mainly a Romanian composer named George Enescu.

But also Beethoven and Mozart who I also bang my head sometimes too or Chopin and other pianists.Alos Wagner from time to time and not to forget Haydn and Bach.

  13. it's legendary! The best they ever released.

    This is discussable.

I wouldn't say it's their best album. It's their biggest album but not their best.

  14. I'd say that the Scorpions are the greatest 'hair metal' band ever.

Well...The Scorpions were formed at the end of the 60s.I think 1969.They were anything but hair metal. In my opinion The Scorpions is the most underrated band in history. A lot of people say Uli Jon Roth is just as good as Blackmore if not better.

And Tokyo Tapes from the 70s is probably the best Live Album ever recorded.

However, after Roth left the Scorpions they kinda weakend and they turned into a hair metal band in the 80s.

Still their 70s albums are their best...really brilliant.

I've seen them 4 times live.Last time during this tour in early october. They rocked each time. I even met their drummer who is a real weirdo. He's amazing good on the other hand.

And I'll see Uli John Roth this week who is the most underrated guitarrist ever. You should check his albums out.Just brilliant.

  15. Well...I know, old topic but since they are both 2 of my all time fave bands I'll bring it up again.

Eddie Van haen just revolutioned guitar. He's the most impotrtanat man after hedrix in my opinion. On the other hand Van Halen 1 to 1984 are some of the best rock albums ever released.

Still, Bon Jovi got better and better whereas Van Halen got worse and worse. And I guess you know VAN HALEN opened over 60 shows during BJ's 1995 THESE DAYS TOUR.

And the Berlin Hard Rock Cafe show with Bon Jovi, Van Halen and Little Steben Jamming' was probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen and will ever see. I was just about to die...

  16. There is some story in a Metal Hammer or a Metal edge about a night Slash and Richie Sambora spent together getting drunk. And theer are some realy sweet pic of them. I was wondering if anyone of you has it the artice and would scan it for me.

I suppose it was in the period where WILD THING by Sam Kinison with sambora on guitar was filmed.
