  1. The end of GN’R touring?  NITL. I wish the final show of the tour had ended with a proper  Guns concert and not a festival. Virtually no CD songs or deep cuts - a bit anti-climatic. But no complaints about the tour. And for the first time in a long time, I’m looking forward to what might come next. Thanks to all who were kind enough to do the work and source the streams - particularly cineater and Blackstar - as always, it was greatly appreciated and never taken for granted!

  2. 3 1/2 hour show.  No surprises.  Setlist will include songs in regular rotation that were not played last night plus a couple of CD songs that have gotten played with far less frequency on the current tour.  Taken on those terms, the last US tour date be a great show and bookend for the only city/venue lucky enough to get more than one show on the NA leg of the tour.  Still wish that the new music would drop on digital streaming services tomorrow and get played tonight - but it's a minor quibble given the considerable (and much appreciated) setlist shakeup this year.  I hope everyone going tonight has an amazing time!

  3. It is an utterly iconic venue.  I think every band and musician wants to play there at some point and consider it an absolute highlight of their career.

That said, traffic and parking are horrendous - particularly with a 6PM start time on a weekday and you're traveling from out-of-town.  Acoustics are infamous for being particularly inconsistent and challenging.  The expansive layout, boxes and benches tend to diminish the impact and experience of hard rock performances for those not in close proximity to the stage. (the pool circle should be a GA pit. but I think bands are prohibited from doing so).  There's a hard 11PM curfew and volume restrictions due to the the adjoining residential neighborhood.  It makes for a unique and enjoyable (if somewhat problematic) experience, but ranks near the bottom of the list when it comes to concert venues where I would like to see a band perform.  As an unrelated side note, we were in Vegas two weeks ago to see U2 at the Sphere - putting aside my diminishing interest in their music, it was the most batshit-crazy mind-blowing musical experience of my life.  For any band that fully utilizes the video and sound technologies employed there, it is the best musical venue in the world that I cannot recommend highly enough.

Back to the Guns' upcoming Hollywood Bowl concerts, I don't know how a performance can be marketed as "legendary" before, you know, the performance has actually taken place and can be considered so.  All that said, I hope everyone going to the shows has an incredibly great time!  Unless any new music is released to digital streaming services later this week (always a possibility), there is no chance it will be performed at the concerts - but I hope so for the sake of anyone lucky enough to be there.

  4. It never made much sense to me that the vinyl would be manufactured and shipped in such close proximity to its official release on digital streaming services - far to many ways to it to leak beforehand.  There is no reason to assume the song’s release and the shipment of vinyl are closely tied to each other - particularly with the band in question.  I would think there is a very good chance that the song drops before December.  I would love to see them pull this out at their final US shows at the Hollywood Bowl next week - because it makes absolutely no sense in an utterly appropriate and contrarian way. I may have become a sentimental sap at this point in my life, but I just remain grateful for an unexpected gift I had never hoped to receive and will be thrilled whenever this ultimately comes our way.

  5. We were in the stadium overlooking the field awaiting early entry and the sound/mix during the SC was simply dreadful.  But I imagine that is what SCs are for.  There must be a curfew - I’m guessing 11. Hoping Guns hits the stage no later than 7:45 and we get a 3hr+ 30+ song set. Significantly more excited than when the tour was first announced - I mean that in the best possible way - best shows since 2016. Not to sound self-serving, but hoping everyone here gets an ass-kicking show. Did I mention how dreadful the SC sounded…
