Releasing it on vynly is the stupidest thing ever.

    Everything is digital these days

They Don't even install CD players in new cars anymore.

Way to say F-You to your fan base.

I guess we all will have our first listen off of a recording of the vynly playing...a la the juke box recording of Perhaps.

    So...stupid

Are you also mad about movies not being on VHS anymore? :)

yeah but it's not exactly breaking news. Slash said recently that he wants to record brand new material so from the time he had this positive feeling until a potential release, years seems like a realistic interval imo, if you consider all things. I hope Chinese tunes happen in the meantime, cause that's already done so my focus is mainly on what we actually have a good chance of getting.

Well said buddy! 💪🏻 Have a good one

  3. oh and this wonderful talkative rocker (who at least my countrymen will recognize in an instant from the description) ”guesses” that probably no (brand new) recording of new stuff (not including the CD leftovers, which in my opinion should be shelved forever) will happen ”in years”. So we might as well can expect this thread to be at least 3000 posts before something everyone waits for happens.

In my opinion: milkin the cow while its still possible. Cant blame them if i’d be 60 and have a possibility of milkin the cow properly i’d milk the fuck out of it. Might seem illogical to die hard fans from Brazil at their 20’s yet to experience capitalism. To me, Guns are doing the most logical thing. What they do now, can’t be done in the future. Forcing the creativity they lost 30+ years ago and using Pro Tools is possible for a longer period of time.

can’t wait for 2028 when they have new album out and people are whining why arent they touring every possible city in the world 😂😂

  4. Long time no see fellas. Nice to see the old gang still keepin the forum active 👌🏼

Talked this morning briefly with one dude who sang on Spaghetti Incident and played harmonica on Use You Illusion in the bus and he said that Slash has been saving riffs for Guns already before recording of ”4”. Also he said that even though fans are ”WTF” with the new stuf - the band is not and they have a clear plan on how things are gonna roll. He compared the situation to AC/DC where Brian has lost so much of his voice (listen to the most recent feat. live performances he did) that it’s physically impossible to sound like he used to at his best era (in my opinion the 90’s when Rudd came back) and then compare what the did with the latest album where he sounds great. Axl has full capability in sounding like his old self short periods of time in the studio, but pulling of tours like this (with even the voice/tone he is pulling now) will be impossibility in the near (5yrs) future. That’s a good hint on what they are planning.

and salute to all my old buddies at the forum!

  5. Yes, australian citizens do not even need a visa to visit many european countries, so it's fairly easy to come down here without any paperwork done if the australian authorities are ok with it.

  6. Thanks Bossy for a great insight in US Law! Good to know! We don't much concentrate outside-European laws, so thanks for correcting my assumptions.

A bit off-topic but YES it's supereasy to get waived in Europe for Australian citizen. He has probably filled out a few forms and that's it - ready to tour. Some eastern europe countries might be a problem, but the mainland, Scandinavia, UK etc is fairly easy to get waived, it's a few months job. :)

  7. With Canada it's easy to get the criminal record -policy denied by submitting an application that proves that you've been rehabilitating yourself after the crime, usually meaning a proof of psychotherapy. It's harder for Phil to get into the USA, but it is still possible with a waiver, which includes an interview with the person applying for visa with consular people. The meaning of the hearing is to prove that the criminal, in this case Phil, is rehabilitated and he is eligible to get a USA visa. And just to clarify: "permanently ineligible to enter USA" doesn't mean that it couldn't be waived - only in cases where you've been deported from USA it is almost impossible to get back in without presidents approval.

These rules doesn't apply only to "superstars", but it definitely comes easier with a top notch lawyer involved.

Just to get an insight that it's not "impossible" for AC/DC to tour USA with Phil.

    Greetings,
    European Law Student

  8. "I live downtown by the Shangri-La, and was walking on Alberni just by the entrance to Urban Fare when a group of men walked out through the doorway. I caught sight of one guy and, being a lifelong diehard AC/DC fan, instantly thought "Hey, that guy looks exactly like Phil Rudd. That's weird." Then, as we walk past this group, I come face to face with another guy in the group. The first thing I notice is "Wow, this guy is crazy short." Then I realize I'm looking Angus Young in the face.

We made eye contact and did that kind of shuffle people do when they're in each other's way and need to determine who's going to go which way. He looked at me with this sort of thinking expression on his face and we all just kept walking in opposite directions. I looked back and said to my girlfriend "I'm like 99% sure we just walked by two of the guys from AC/DC."" -Reddit

There's also a few more sightings of Angus Young in reddit's Vancouver group, so it looks like pretty much they're doing AC/DC, not anything else. :)

  9. Rudd back is so beyond cool. At least about a year ago he had a f*ckin' killer groove in Copenhagen. I like Slade, but there's just something magical about how Phil keeps the train rollin.

  10. Two posts on Reddit about this, no idea of the credibility of the users/writers, so might be bull or might be not.

"The rumours of the band being in Vancouver are just not going away - Phil, Stevie, Angus, Brian & Cliff all supposedly been sighted: been working in the studio for a month or so... Also talk of Axl in town but there's confusion around that and may not be the case....Sources close to the band confirm that something positive is happening but unable to reveal any more at this stage..."

"I saw Angus, Stevie, Phil & what looks to be Cliff as well, yesterday in Vancouver. It definitely looks like they are in town recording and also believe that they might be working with Mike Fraser as I think that I also saw him with them, all in one spot. I've got some pics as well. New on here and not sure if I can post them or not. Neither Axl or Brian were present"

So did Contraband actually sell more copies than Chinese Democracy?

Yeah absolutely, Contraband has sold 4 million copies, a million more than Chinese.

Just gotta remember that record sales (overally) in 2004 when Contraband was released was almost 700 million. In 2008 when Chinese was released, record sales had dropped to 350 million. http://www.npr.org/sections/money/2010/08/25/129428450/album-sales-hit-record-lows

There's gotta be some decent dropoff between everyone that heard it, and everyone that loved it, enough to want to hear those songs in a reunion tour.

Yes, most definitely. I downloaded them in '08 from Napster/Kazaa/Dc++ whatever was it back then, and decided not to go buy it, and haven't listened to it since.

There are multiple threads/topics here & in Reddit about fe. Catcher, and wishing them would play Madagascar. I kinda came to a conclusion that if some people in a forum, that consists mostly of die hard 87-93 Guns fans, wanna hear that stuff, there must be more outside these boards. It also seems like people are talking about CD left-over materials or the CD2 or even remixing the original CD a lot down here. Just can't help myself not thinking that if there wouldn't be people who liked CD enough to hear those songs on a reunion tour, why would they even consider of ever wanting to listen something that's been vaulted in the process of making that album?

Just my two cents on what I've been reading. I'm completely fine with switching all CD songs to UYI songs if I may.

    That sounds a tad exaggerated.

The album sold 3 million copies in a time when everyone was already downloading everything and album sales dropped drastically. There are loads of people who are fans of that particular album. Just to clarify: I'm definitely not one of them.

  14. There's literally shitloads of people who wanted them to play Sorry and/or Catcher in the Rye. There were even more people who wanted to see Guns reunite with Adler. There's also a huge amount of people who wanted them to play fe. Coma, Out ta get me etc.

Some people argue about shows being too similar. Some seem to argue that they vary too much(?).

From my point of view, they are playing 100% for the fans. Giving everyone what they wanted in bits and pieces. If you happen to go to the Adler-guest-star-show instead of the Catcher-in-the-rye-show, that's just your luck.

They are doing a great job in my opinion, we've gotten what we were entitled to expect & shitload of huge n' small surprises along the way. Some people just aren't never satisfied :D
