  1. worldwide album sales are between 50-60 million.

    50-60 million eh???

well...that would mean they easily sold out bands like Metallica, Guns N' Roses or Aerosmith outside America and it would also mean they sold as much as U2 or Bon Jovi outside America.Wouldn't be anything wrong with it, if these bands didn't have twice as long careers.

Well...you don't know shit! How old are you? I mean, the last time I've seen someone making up that kind of numbers was when a 15 year old boy tried to tell me how much bigger Megadeth are than Metallica.

who cares how many albums they have sold? Ive noticed you cannot speak very coherently as english i presume isnt your first language? so i dont understand what your saying, accusing me of being a childish 15 year old? and what are you talking about making up numbers?!?!? I havent made up any numbers?

  2. just dont like em, just is ok but i cant see the mass appeal. ive got load of mates whon love em though. their sound just bores me and theyre so damn miserable - i prefer to see a show from a band of entertainers like Guns rather than the singer songwriter types who stand there with their guitar warbling on about how depressed they are. so i assume its probably because they lack real energy in their music. I appreciate that theyre very good at what they do though

yeh motley crue are better than radiohead

Motley Crue are ahell of alot better than Radiohead. I don't really like Radiohead they aren't the worst band on the planet. I find the way Thom sings annoying and i just can't get to grips with the name "ooh ive got a radio for a head..."

I suspect you are 10 years of age? yes? :shades:

  4. one word: INFLUENCE

yes they influenced a lot of awful bands :)

    Right...

Let's take UGLY KID JOE for example...they said their biggest influences are VAN HALEN and BON JOVI...well...

    whateva' sista!

UGLY KID JOE? yer man one of the best of all time

cmon man, its time to take the gloves off.

their best songs, panama, jump and eruption.

I can only appreciate one of those songs.

  5. Who the hell wants to see this band???

I mean..."Blair was supposed to be the saviour" shit. Come on...a saviour for what? And how can one compare them to The KINKS who are like the second biggest British band ever?  It really doesn't get in my head.

I have listened to really tons of music, from Punk to storytelling rock. Also OASIS...but why there is such a mania for some guys who pretend to be the reinacarnation of John Lennon, that's one thing I won't understand.

    says the twisted sister fan.

seriously have you ever tried to educate yourself about music? and how it appeals to people? sure twisted sister might sound fucking great in a club at 2am when your out of it but can you seriously respect the merits of those fucking bands like twisted sister and cinderella and motley crue, can you fuck! :)

You know, you have a point, but, on the flipside, you're doing just what you're accusing him of doing. Oasis is a half rate pop rock band who had limited success outside of Europe, but to hear them tell it, they're the frickin Beatles. At least Twisted Sister doesn't claim to be the "saviors of rock", and stays within their limitations. You know, Oasis is a lot like Tigger... they fail because they don't know their limitations.

well in america oasis sold 7 million albums.

worldwide album sales are between 50-60 million.

and your right, Liam Gallagher saying he was bigger than jesus and bigger than the beatles probably damaged their career, but again if you fault oasis for saying these things, its as if you feel threatened by them. Their music is great and thats it.

This is what noel gallagher has said

"if you tell everyone your the biggest band in the world, 50% are gonna believe ya"

and no doubt oasis were the biggest band in the world for 2-3 years.

  6. i like u! ur kl!

    1) huge oasis fan

    2) u always post stuff i understand

    3) i like evry1 n am a very exitable person...

    good for u, katie

i like yer sig, makes me wanna go to a whiskey barrrrrr

  7. I'm really keen, I have Echo park and Comfort in Sound. They have become albums I couldn't live without. Anyone else feel the same?

    they have some great tunes.

  8. why does everyone think something has to be on mtv for it to be good.

Yet at the same time everything that is played on mtv, you all moan and complain about. Ive noticed this mentality in a lot of posts. If you dont like MTV dont watch it. Simple as.

MTV is shit, the awards are shit, and everything related to it is shit. Infact every thread with "MTV" is shit, Just forget it! it has no effect on music anymore.

  9. Who the hell wants to see this band???

  10. I saw the video last night.. eh. I imagined something different. Its interesting though, Bono's still looking cool.

Haha I laugh everytime they go "hola".

    HELLO HELOOOOOOOOO HOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  11. jump is one of the worse songs ever.

if i had to choose Id choose van halen, but still i dont think either deserves a vote :)

That's pure ignorance. I bet you judge Van Halen by some poppy songs(even if Jump just kicks ass)you see on MTV or hear on radio.

That's just stupid. just buy Van Halen I or 1984, or download them and you'll see how it will change your mind.

Same with Bon Jovi. Buy New Jersey or Keep The Faith or 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit and give them a listen. Then have an opinion!

I dont watch MTV, again why do you think Mtv is some holy grail for music?

  12. Actualy no.You seem to be confused.Make up your mind. You said they sucked and now you tell me they are good? And what's wrong with their behaviour?I like it and I find it very rock n roll.I don't see why their music is non-rock n roll.If they are not rock what are they?

    what music do they play?

well they sound like a cat deely cover band.

and im not saying they are good. I like a few tunes because they are catchy and fun, and thats as far as it goes, catchy and fun, which ofcourse isnt a bad thing.

but its certainly not rock n roll? dont get dissapointed you can like what you like. :)

  13. Sorry.Rock is not about drugs and club-fights.It's about other staff. If you want to hear about drugs and gang fights listen to C-Rap.They are civilized people, they have manners ,they come from the UK you know so of course they have a calm lifestyle.Anyhow,it's not all that calm,I have heard that one of them got drunk once and started to throw bottles at some singers. So there...the cute kitten scratches hard.

you totally missed my point and conrtradicted yourself at the same time?

    i like some darkness songs.

but THE DARKNESS ARE NOT ROCK N ROLL, THEIR MUSIC IS NOT ROCK N ROLL, AND THEIR BEHAVIOUR SURELY ISNT ROCK N ROLL.

  14. I can't believe I'm doing it now but it's a special circumstance...

Korn and even Velvet Underground (probably not even in the top 5 best bands of the 60s) don't belong in the same sentence let alone bands like the Stones or the Beatles...

Modern music is a joke and the bands you used in your argument prove this.

And anyway, I do not believe when people look back on the defining albums of the 90s and 21st century that Issues would even rank in the top 20.

In the 60s their was albums like Pet Sounds, Sgt Peppers, Highway 61 Revisited, Are you Experienced and Say it Loud I'm Black and I'm proud. This albums have cultural and historical relevance... They represent their era and played parts in Vietnam, the Civil Rights movement or just generally redefined music...

I once heard a music critic say that for a band or artist to be truly great they have to release music that no one has ever done, and no one will ever be able to repeat... It's these people that influence people. Does Dido fall in that category? Will Dido ever influence anyone with her boring music that all sounds the same?

If you'd have argued Eminem (who I hate) I may have accepted it... but Dido... please...

fucking too right man.. the last cultural explosion was Oasis, which makes them one of the best bands ever. Music became shit after 1998, have you heard KASABIAN man? they are fucking great, like primal scream but more intense.

  15. However, and this is the big however that drives people to hate the darkness.

Its justin hawkins. His ego is so big youd need permission to land on it.

He openly brags at being the best, and the best rock band in britian. And its come to be known that the band are now practially called justin hawkins & the darkness.

I know your not really knocking the band, but its the other bands members choice that they dont live the rock lifestyle as Justin does. I think I red somewhere that its because the others want to be able to walk down the streets without being recognised, and live their ordinary lives, so Justin lives the lifestyle for them all, as such. Which is fair enough. Extroadinarily funny bloke tho imo :P

live the rock n roll lifestyle???

woah he hurt his hand on a piece of glass, hardly rock n roll mate.

they are clearly fake, they dont do drugs, they dont get thrown out of clubs, they are fakes man, all their funds have been provided by their parents, these are facts, dont let an image fool you.

im not sayin they should do all those things, but they hardly live a rock n roll lifestyle.

  16. Yeah they did... The bands were

    The Beach Boys

    Aretha Franklin

    Bob Dylan

    Diana Ross & The Supremes

    James Brown

    Jimi Hendrix

    The Kinks

    The Rolling Stones

    Simon & Garfunkel

    Velvet Underground

The obvious emisson being.... The Who...

The Beatles are honoury members, so no they didn't leave them out...

did the who make it? i think they should be included in the 70;s really

man looking at the list the 60's were by far the best musical decade ever.. and it will go down as the best in history..

    the kinks

    the velvet underground

    the beatles

    the who

the stones (yeh i love their 60's material)

pink floyd the forefront of psychedelia in the 60's

fuck the 90's is my second favourite decade,

why do people think mtv is the only musical channel? i dont even watch it so i dont know much about justin timberlake and all that rubbish, i watch channels like the amp and vh2, where they play good music. theres no love and passion in the music anymore man, and any cunt that tells you they are in it for the passion theyare probly lying as they are all merely puppets on strings.
