  1. I love Time goes By.

That's my favorite solo song by anyone from the band (i consider chinese democracy solo axl).

That's the type of song I like.  I could listen to entire real GNR album with that type of vibe but add in the elements of Axl, Slash, Steven and Duff.  That woiuld be a great record.

But I suspect its the opposite of what some people on this board prefer.

  2. the only thing that can be inferred from this tweet is that IZzy felt insulted and that the distribution of the proceeds from the tour wouldn't have been split in a manner that he deemed fair.

this modano person has created an entire scenario based on an innocuous tweet.  This modano person is stating unequivocally that this tweet means Izzy was demanding an equal slit between himself, Slush, Muff, and Axl.  That's ridiculous to make this claim.  Could it be true? sure.  But should a reasonable, intelligent person make a claim that this tweet provides sufficient evidence?  No.   Obviously Izzy was pissed off when he made the tweet.  It's foolish to claim an angry tweet is irrefutable proof of this imagined scenario

And regarding interest in the tour.

IF you like the current lineup, then good for you.  I really don't care.

Personally, I have no interest in anything other than the AFD lineup.  I'm not sure what some people are personally offended by this stance and decide that's grounds to personally attack someone.

But whatever, that tells me all I need to know about some people's level of understanding. I don't know why anyone is angry over another person not being interested in seeing a rock band's tour but given today's society I should be surprised.

  3. This modono person is reading in between the lines when there's nothing to read into and he's adding meaning to things.

A tweet is not an official legal statement.

This modano is taking the word equally and creating an entire narrative.

Izzy likely misused th e word equally when he really meant fairly.

When I've spoken or even rushed through writing I've used the word equally when in fact what I was trying to convey was fairness.

  4. Great post Apollo,

Frankly axl, slash, and muff are all pieces of garbage.

I have more respect for axl because he's very open and honest about how he operates.

Slush and Muff are phonies without any integrity or character.

I bet there's other reasons why izzy bailed on velvet revolver but he has too much class and integrity to comment.

Izzy and adler are the 2 out of the 5 that I respect.

  5. Invariably hipsters all have the same leftists viewpoints on everything. I guess mix well with duff the feminist Mckagen.

The persona they attempt to project is one of open mindedness, and being laid back.

The opposite is true and they come off like narrow minded social justice warriors.

Plus  a good number of them appear like they havnt been properly groomed or bathed in quite some time.

  6. and in terms of GNR influencing later acts, I assume its the case.

Back n 1987 it was all hair bands and it was so boring.

GNR sounded so different, it was a kick in the ass.

Everyone I knew love Appetite and GNR instantly became everyone's favorite band.

I never found GNR becoming trite or worn out like hair bands so I never paid attention if there was discussion about GNR not being cool or part of the established order.

I only worried about the quality of the music, not impressing people with what's playing on my record player.

  7. I went to college from 1991-1995.

And frankly I didn't caught up in this gibberish about what was cool or wasn't cool/.

I  was a big fan during the Appetite and Lies era.  I was disappointed the first times I listed to Illusions, it sounded like a different band to me.  Now I realize it was due to missing Adler's drumming and Izzy's lessened influence.  I grew to like the albums and remained a fan but I liked other bands better.

A reunion with all 5 would have been a happy ending from my point of view.  I was never interested in anything else.

In terms of other bands, I was really into classic rock during this time.  There was about 2 yrs where I mainly listened to LEd zeppelin.

But really I listened to alot of things: pearl jam, stp, smashing pumpkins, van halen, zeppelin, beattles, rush, yes, gensis (gabriel era), black crowes, allman brothers, pink floyd, the who, etc

NOt once did I get caught up in "is this cool or not"

Yeah Zeppelin were in there with Cream, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath... all rock n' roll bands lol.  You don't need to be punk in order to be rock n' roll, that is why punk is not called rock n' roll

I never thought anyone in the entire world would dispute Zeppelin being called a rock n' roll band lol

    Astounding

Can you believe this guy saying led zepellin isn't rock n roll!!!!!

Every rock band since zrppelin has been influenced by them.

I think the NITL experience got pretty old after the first few months of last year, if i'm being honest. If we take off the rose tinted glasses (no pun intended), all we really have is fat Axl and Slash going through the motions for a payday. And in the process, screwing over 2 classic era bandmates that the vast majority want to see, due to the "core 3's" own personal greed.

Good point, it's hard for me to get excited about fat, rich guys getting fatter and richer.

At least if izzy was there id get a nostalgia hit.

How boring must ones life be, if you find the time and the energy to discuss the same old fucking shit for a millionth time on a forum over and over again. I mean, its not even gonna change anything. Steven is not coming back and so is izzy. So stop acting like annoying pussys and stop making this forum seem like a fucking loop. Cause it just gets annoying after a time.

Jesus, some people here are retarded, i swear,

    You sound really intelligent yourself

You seem a good judge to deem a person retarded.  You must have much experience in this endeavor.

You know that could never work. How many people are in the forum? What difference can we make? I think it's a well known fact that most of the people attending the shows are "casual fans" who go because Slash and Axl are back together. They don't care about the setlist (as long as some of the hits are played), the other band members (Duff included) or anything else so they will go regardless of the band having Izzy Stradlin or Dj Ashba on rhythm guitar. The biggest concern these people could have (ridiculous tardiness) have been solved so why wouldn't they go.

I do find it crazy, though, when some people claim they would never go to a show and stuff like that. I respect it but I think they're missing a huge opportunity. I'm often trying to convince people who's doubtful that they have to go, even if only for selfish reasons (because the band is fn' aswesome as it is now) but not everyone feels the same.

I think those who decide not to go to the shows, don't do it as an attempt to affect the band's finances but because they really feel they wouldn't enjoy it.

My money and time is valuable

I'm not attending something that I do not believe to be authentic.  Am I allowed to have my own preferences?

    EXACTLY.

Same goes for many things like this over years. I've always said the same thing: VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET. When GN'R stops getting the money is the only time they'll realize the fans aren't pleased. All these people that complain and claim that they're never going to a GN'R show again, still end up going. GN'R gets their money and nothing changes.

    Spouting off BS

I havnt gone to a single show, havnt spent a dime.

Gnr to me is Axl, slash, izzy, Duff, and Steven. I have no interest seeing another lineup
