I think hair metal is more fun. besides, (IMO) grunge was the beginning of what rock has become (for the most part) these days. little skill, lots of screaming and rage against the world, and its very watered down and fit into a little mold on what rock should be. boring. what happened to the eighties? oh im sad now. bring it back!!!
fyi poison is supposed to be getting back together, and the crue already is on tour

as most hard rock fans know, rock has a great amount of influence from the blues, which was invented in the black community. what many dont know, however, is that the first rock music was also created by black musicians. i found this interesting, because rock is considered a "white" thing these days(NOT BEING RACIST--JIMI HENDRIX ROCKS!). many dont know rock wasnt always this way. the first records were bought by white kids who rocked out to them(this being the days of segregation) and didnt know that they were listening to black artists.
just another stereotype, but one i was curious about. i wonder how things got this way.

Yeah I heard about AC/DC too. If they come to the windy city, im going. Their last tour was for the Razor's Edge album early 90's, correct?

I agree with Shanananaknees up there for GNR greatest hits... it made me a fan as well.....

Personally, I dont think rock bands should get involved in plitics. Isnt rock supposed to be anti-establishment? its like alice cooper said, "anyone voting a certain way because a rock star told them to is an idiot." I agree. Shut up and play your guitar!!!!

I was recently reading Revolver magazine, and they had listed the 50 top rock bands of all time. They named Black Sabbath first, Zeppelin third, and AC/DC somewhere in the thirty's or fourties, with G N' R not even making the list. Now, i know its basically all opinions, but looking at it objectively, i would put Zeppelin first. they inspired millions to pick up a six string. dont get me wrong, i like ozzy, but Zeppelin to me are the gods of rock. I would have put AC/DC, a little higher up, and G N R somewhere too......
just my opinion. feel free to have a different one.

I would have to go with VH. Eddie Van Halen rocks.
