I'm just proposing perhaps Izzy, who has a history of not exactly enjoying touring (especially stadiums/arenas), couldn't agree to terms that were offered, based on the longevity of the tour. Another issue could be Izzy only wanted to plug in for guest appearances, which I think would alter his earnings significantly and rightfully so.

I don't think so.  I think this is all about the money.  And the 3 of them don't want to give a full share to Izzy.

Also, let's not forget the proximate cause of all the dissension:  Axl's drive for power in the band.   You can make claims about each original member having some role in leaving, but the heart is Axl's power plays:

    1. Axl was already angling to get rid of Steven Adler when Axl fucked Steven's girlfriend live on Rocket Queen.   Really?  Who is going to claim that wasn't an attempt to push Steven out?  Not exactly conducive to band chemistry.

    2. Axl tried to force a contract on Izzy in 1991 that would reduce his share of the band's income and limit his movement on stage.   Ridiculous!

    3. Axl threatened not to go on stage one day unless the rest of the band signed ownership of the "Guns n' Roses" name to Axl.  (Since the name came from Tracii "Guns" and Axl "Rose", the name might not have had IP rights otherwise).

    4. Axl tried to force employment contracts on Slash and Duff in 1996.  That made them leave.

    5. So let's not push it too far with blaming Izzy.  Axl wants to pay him less, and Izzy's saying that if this is a real reunion of Izzy's band, then Izzy should get his fair share.  I can see disagreeing with Izzy's demand to get fair share after leaving pretty early.  But I don't see any basis for saying Izzy's the problem here.  C'mon

I think that Izzy was offered the same deal that Mick Taylor got on the last Rolling Stones tour: Guest Appearance for a few songs at each show. Does that sound like a good deal to anyone? Following a band that you founded like a puppy dog to play a few songs with the "current" band? To me, that sounds like watching your ex girlfriend getting plowed by the new boyfriend in front of a screaming crowd.

Izzy hasn't had his heart in GNR since 1991. Too much of a free spirit for stadium greatest hits rock. He gets plenty of publishing money anyway.

It is what it is, and it could be (and has been) a lot worse! Perspective, folks.

I agree that getting Slash, Duff and Axl on stage together itself is pretty miraculous, and more than I expected to see given prior statements.  And, I would be that Duff is playing the long game of getting the band back together more & more as time goes by.   In fact, there would be a certain symmetry in the band's reunion going the opposite of how it came undone:   First Axl, Duff & Slash, like it was from mid-91 through 95.  Then Izzy rejoins, and then Steven takes on a larger role.

For me, the importance of Izzy has nothing to do with the touring.  I went to the early 91 shows and I don't remember anything Izzy did.  Instead, it's about the songwriting.  I'm afraid that without Izzy any new songs won't be that good.  It's hard enough for bands in their 50's to write good music.  So if you're going to try, you should go back to the winning formula.

The thing is Izzy had all of that. He was an equal partner and was rewarded for all of his songwriting, influences, and being there from the start. He then made the business decision and left. He didn't want the risk/liability that came with the reward. Now the other 3 stuck around, and have maintained the brand for nearly 20 years so that this scenario of a stadium sized reunion show is even possible. Izzy wasn't there making branding, merchandise, synch deals, and running the business side of the GNR catalogue during those times. Think about all the lawyers those guys had on retainer over the years, to help control their interests. Time spent thinking not only but the brand, but about the other parties involved.  By no means is he entitled to now just walk in and demand equal equity on this pay day. This is the other guys payoff for all that work.  I'm sure the other 2 could of sold their rights to Axl if they didn't want the headache. They were just smart enough to stick around.

You're right.  Izzy has not been much of an ambassador for the GnR brand.   He did walk away and did not put in the work the other three did from mid-91 through 1994.

That is the strongest argument against him -- and this is where the "flake" resonates.  Izzy's particular hubris is that he picks up and walks when he wants (a luxury he has due to the success of the early albums).  Izzy walked away from the Ju Ju Hounds.  And he walked away from promoting 117 Degrees.  So he's not without blame.   Fair point.

All that said, if -- as your tagline says -- you're "just waiting for the new Guns album to come out", then you want Izzy because he writes well.

As a fan I'd love to see Izzy there.

I however understand Izzy gave up his partnetship. Don't pin Izzy's drug issues and arrests on Axl like wtf.

Not what I was saying.   Izzy claims that he left the band, in part, because Axl started saying Izzy should only get so much money because he did not travel with the band, and Axl also tried to restrict the area on the stage where Izzy could perform.   My point is it was (i) part Izzy getting sober because of his arrest for pissing on a plane; and (ii) part the Axl power play in trying to cut Izzy's pay and restrict his area on stage.

  5. Truth is, stuff like this happens with so many reunions.   First, from an equity perspective, I agree with Izzy that he should get an equal split.  Izzy wrote as much or more of the Appetite, Lies and Illussions material than anyone else.  Izzy also is responsible for helping to craft the band's musical persona.  When you think about what gave the band it's identity, it's very much Izzy:  Punk, Stones & Hanoi Rocks influences.  Also, Izzy is the guy who started it all by leaving Indiana for L.A.  Axl followed Izzy!   There is also the de facto point that Guns n' Roses ended as a band that made new material when Izzy left.

Second, on the other hand, squabbling over money happens with many major bands, especially with reunions.  Zeppelin tried (and succeeded) to cut out Jon Paul Jones from one reunion.  The Eagles made original member Randy Meissner an employee.  Brian Jones was the original leader of the Rolling Stones, but ended up dead in a pool.  When you add to that the fact that Izzy freely walked away from the band, partially because he had to get sober due to an arrest -- albeit partially because of the same Axl power-play business we are seeing now.  Indeed, the reunion tour we just saw is pretty much the Illusions lineup from 92-93 -- minus Tracy & Roberta and the horns :)).   Having abdicated his role with the band, Izzy has given up some of the moral high ground.

Finally, my vote is of course that I want more Izzy.   Any real fan of GnR knows that Izzy is a major part of the band and the band's history.  There is a strong argument that he is the most important member -- and he's at least top-3.  So it is a major loss not to have Izzy on board.

  6. In response to:  WhazUp's statement:  " The only thing thing that isn't subjective is that people's use of the term "masterpiece" is subjective. "a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship" is the formal definition of the term, and artistry is inherently subjective."

You have the definition wrong:  The historical definition of Masterpiece is "A piece of work by a craftsman accepted as qualification for membership of a guild as an acknowledged master."  http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/masterpiece  From that, the modern usage of "an artist or craftsman's best piece of work" and "work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship" is derived.   Chinese Democracy is not an accepted masterpiece by Rock N' Roll peers or by respected critics.  Not even close.  So it doesn't meet the historical test of masterpiece.  Also, your reasoning is circular:   You're claiming that Masterpiece is subjective because it is art, which you assume is subjective.  Just not true.   Beethoven's Fifth is a masterpiece, period.  You can argue all you want and never change that.  End of Story.

It's sacrilege for a GNR member to cover an Elton John song without Axl.

Agreed.  And although we don't know if Axl was given a right of first refusal, I don't agree with Slash recording solo material during the band's reunion tour.  Although I suppose it's fair game if Axl is touring with AC/DC, I think the less of this solo stuff that happens, the better chance there is that we'll get new music from this current lineup of Guns N' Roses.

I'm afraid it is a subjective matter, just because you don't like that people have a different opinion than you doesn't mean you can just try and act like yours is fact, you seem like someone who can't fathom the idea of people not thinking like you do. I don't mind that CD songs are on the set list, although I wish they'd stop doing better, he can't sing that song well live anymore. I do think CD is a masterpiece honestly, I can listen to it all the way through and enjoy every moment. I agree a lot of people think differently but that doesn't mean that my opinion is wrong, it is just that, an opinion, not fact. You seem to think that just because you're in the majority it makes the minority's opinion irrelevant or somehow conclusively wrong, that's not how it works.

It is not subjective.  Were it subjective, I could confidently announce that I just released my "masterpiece" albums "Fart Volume I" and "Fart Volume II" as I read your post.  My opinion that my "Fart" albums were "masterpieces" would be as valid as your opinion about Chinese Democracy, or, an actual valid opinion:  "Appetite for Destruction" IS a masterpiece.  You can't have it both ways:  Either my "Farts" are just as much a masterpiece as Chinese Democracy, or this is an objective question & CD isn't a masterpiece.  P.S.  I can listen to my farts all the way through and enjoy every moment....

Now I remember why I spent so many years away from this forum. People not reading posts correctly and making up facts as they go along with people's opnions. If you re-read my post, I clearly state it's "GNRs version of Dark Side Of The Moon when it comes to layers and hidden tracks" never did I say it's on the same level of creativity and depth that Dark Side Of The Moon has. If I had to choice which is better, then I'd pick Dark Side anyday over Chinese. And never did I bring up album sales. In my opinion,  album sales are irrelevant since the dawn of the download age. As far as a masterpiece,  why does it bother you so much that I see as one? Some people view One Directions last album as a masterpiece,  doesn't mean it's viewed that way to everyone.  It's simply based on one's opinion.  As far as I feel about the people I mentioned who go to the shows and crap on the new songs and shout Paradise City inbetween songs. Again,  it's my opinion and it's how I feel. I understand casual fans go to hear the radio hits, but to be ignorant and not give the new songs a chance (which the majority that were near me at the concerts never heard of the Chinese Democracy material ) and keep shouting Paradise City inbetween songs is annoying to me. People go to concerts to enjoy themselves, people pay alot of money to go. Just because you don't like some songs, or you are there to hear the hits, doesn't entitle you to make the people around try to feel the same way.  I highly doubt you shouting Paradise City from 100 yards away over other screaming fans and loud music is going to make the band play that song, with them only 4 songs into the set. I don't care for This I Love, but I didn't crap on it during the show, I listened with open ears and gave it a chance on both night's and even with Slashs amazing guitar solos, I still didn't care for the song. For me, the song got overplayed during my youth when I was going through some tough times relationship wise.

Calling me a Kool aid drinker because I actually like CD I find funny.  I do like grape flavored kool aid btw. you could call the people who go to concerts to only hear the radio hits kool aid drinkers too.

CD is a Guns album. Go to itunes, Amazon or any record store, its right with all the other Guns Albums. Simple as that, don't like some of my opinions,  then I'm sorry you're losing sleep over it.

Go ahead and like CD.  But calling it a masterpiece is just not credible.  That opinion puts you in a small minority, most of whom are Axl's entourage.  A masterpiece is a rock n' roll classic.  And Chinese Democracy is no classic.  It's not a subjective matter.  No credible rock n' roll publication or critic holds Chinese Democracy out as a masterpiece.  And, as widely reported, most Guns n' Roses fans do not want to hear it -- including Howard Stern and multiple interviewees at Concerts, as reported by Alternative Nation.  http://www.alternativenation.net/howard-stern-doesnt-want-guns-n-roses-play-chinese-democracy-payday/

All the overdubs and multi-tracked vocals and guitars just ruin the album.  There are a couple of OK songs, and some good ideas on others.  But most of the songs just don't come together, because the album lacks a stylistic focus and because of the perfectionism.  The title track and Shackler's Revenge are ok.  But the others just don't come together, e.g., second verses/riffs that sound like entirely different songs (e.g., Riad n' the Bedouins, Scraped).   As a GnR fan, I'm also embarrassed by the choir and synth openings (TWAT, Madagascar, Prostitute, If the World, Scraped, & even Better has a terrible intro).  And then on other songs with generally good music, the lyrics fall short or the songs goes nowhere (Sorry, Better, Catcher in the Rye).   Seriously, lyrics like "I'll kick your ass like I said I would" on "Sorry" take a good song and put it into "Get in the Ring Territory."   And the navel-gazing self-pity on TWAT is off-putting.   So, just mediocre.

I'm with Jon Pareles, the New York Times reviewer, who wrote that Chinese Democracy is "a shipwreck, capsized by pretensions and top-heavy production.  In its 14 songs there are glimpses of heartfelt ferocity and despair, along with bursts of remarkable musicianship.  But they are overwhelmed by countless layers of studio diddling and a tone of curdled self-pity." J. Pareles, "How Axl Rose Spent All That Time," (N.Y. Times, Nov. 23, 2008), available at http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/23/arts/music/23pare.html

As you should be able to tell from the above, I've given Chinese Democracy plenty of chances.  I bought it, listened to it, and waited 15 years for it.  It was a massive disappointment, primarily because of the over-production, but also because Axl tried to do with without the rest of the band.   Having lived through that disappointment, I'd prefer not to be reminded of it at a concert where I am paying hundreds of dollars for a "reunion" of the original band, which implies they will be playing songs from their prime.   When Chinese Democracy songs bump "Don't Cry" or "Patience," and indeed, all of the songs from "Lies," then that is a problem.

1-2 songs off CD would be fine, especially since Axl's doing my personal favorite from Illusions, "Coma."  But 3-4 is a bit much.

Calm down dude, it seems you didn't read his post properly. He didn't say CD was as good as DSOTM, but that it's GNRs version of that album to him, because just like the PF album it has tons of layers and effects. Ofc the albums don't compare quality wise. That said, wtf with the sales argument, One Direction sell millions, what a good band right?

He called it a "masterpiece" and compared it to "Dark Side of the Moon," when it's actually closer to mediocre "Queensryche."   I appreciate your sane concession that the album doesn't compare quality-wise.

Sales argument has meaning in the rock/hard rock genre.  You don't get there unless you're a great album.  Even in any genre:  I don't see anyone saying that an album reaching this from any genre is bad.  You only get that high when you do something memorable.  One Direction is nowhere near that level.  Even their prior-day analogs, Backstreet Boys and N'Sync never got there, even with 20 years for people to keep buying those albums for 99 cents a K-Mart.  But my point's really focused on the genre:  In Rock/Hard Rock, you only get there with a great album:  Look at the list:  AC/DC "Back in Black," Led Zeppelin "IV", The Beatles' White Album and "1967-70", the Eagles "Hotel California" and "Greatest Hits", Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and the Wall, Boston's "Boston" and Metallica's Black Album.   It's a pretty good barometer of a great album.  There are not a lot of great rock albums out there that aren't at least at 5-10 million albums sold.

Thank you so much for sharing this and I completely agree with the majority in this thread.  Chinese was a underrated album and was a masterpiece.  I'd seriously view as GNRs version of Dark Side Of The Moon when it comes to all these layers and hidden tracks. Once you slap on a good pair of head phones, you begin to make out some of those tracks you don't normally hear in car speakers or a stereo.  It seriously feels like for me, every time I take a listen to this album,  I find something new.

As far as the concert goers and reviewer's who trash the new songs.  They are nothing but arrogant casual radio hit posers. When I saw Guns live a week ago, alot of meatheads that were near me kept shouting Paradise City inbetween songs. I don't value people's negative opinions on Chinese because I find people who diss it, diss it because "Its Not Guns N'Roses" or "it doesn't sound like Appetite " way I see it, you either love the album or you hate it. People who hate tend to go out of their way to make people who like it, to change their minds. I just see those people as ignorant.

You must be drinking the Axl Kool Aid to argue Chinese Democracy "was a masterpiece" and compares to "Dark Side of the Moon"!!   "Dark Side of the Moon" is one of the greatest selling albums of all time, across all genres.  It's sold basically as much as Appetite for Destruction in the US, and is one of the Top 3-4 worldwide bestsellers.   And Chinese Democracy is no Appetite for Destruction.   Dark Side has classic songs, like "Money" and "Us and Them"  AND unifying themes of mentall illness, greed and death.

Chinese Democracy is just a mish-mosh of Axl attempting to be like Nine Inch Nails in some points, Andrew Lloyd Webber in others, and NuMetal in other places.  It's just mediocre, which it's 1 million of sales reflects.   Hey, I love Axl's songwriting.  I love November Rain, I love Breakdown and most of Estranged, I love Axl's idea to add whistling to Izzy's song "Patience" and I love pretty much all of the lyrics on "Appetite."

But sometimes you just gotta call a spade a spade:  "Chinese Democracy" is mediocre because it is all over the place and over-produced.   But Axl's writing on Chinese Democracy is not that good.  Some of it was the over-production, some of it was unfocused musical style.   Most important -- and you can't ignore this one -- a good chunk of the problem was that he co-wrote 13 of the 14 songs, mostly with mediocre songwriters.   I'll bet that the CD2 & CD3 demo-material ends up much better after Axl, Slash and Duff work on it together.

  12. 1 hour ago, Apollo said:

It's Axl's band though. He isn't forcing anybody to listen to anything.  You decide if you want to buy a ticket. Axl and the band decide what they want to play. That's the way concerts work.

And if you polled 25 people on this forum and asked what 20 songs they wanted at the next show you would get 25 different lists. So no matter what songs Axl plays, some fans will moan and complain. It's pretty arrogant to think that Axl should do exactly what you think he should do. You don't speak for all fans. You are mad about 4 CD songs. Great  that's your perogative. I've been a fan since 1987 and I would much rather hear IRS and SOD at the next live show than hear Mr Brownstone and Live and Let Die. And I would much rather hear The General and Soulmonster at the next show than hear It's So Easy and Heavens Door

Is 12-13 minutes of a 2.5 hour show really that much to complain about?

Maybe just remember that it isn't all about you and that lots of people have different tastes than you do. Axl has to do his best to please 50,000 people a night.

And GnR is his baby. His job. He deserves the right to play whatever songs make him happy. We, as fans, can then choose whether or not to pay money to go see him perform.

Aha!  So the Axl "owns everything" baloney finally comes out.   But it's blatantly false.   Izzy Stradlin and Slash had just as much or more songwriting input on Guns N' Roses as Axl.

It is NOT Axl's band; not by a long shot.  Axl does not own all of the rights to the Guns N' Roses songs; not even close to a majority of the rights, either.   Even Steven Adler owns 15% of the songs that he played on.  So it's not Axl's prerogative at all -- even if that were the only issue.   All Axl owns unilaterally is the "Guns n' Roses" name, based on a contract and him taking Tracii Guns's name and merging it with Hollywood Rose/W. Axl Rose.   I also suspect Axl doesn't even own the Gn'R Iconic logo, judging from the fact that he wasn't displaying it prior to the Reunion.

More importantly, it's not Axl that's drawing all of the fans to a 50,000-seat venue.  It's the reunion with Slash and Duff.  Axl was barely filling the hard rock before the reunion tour.   And plainly most fans don't share your Chinese Democracy preference because they are just not buying Chinese Democracy.  The reality that Chinese Democracy was just as much a dud as The Spaghetti Incident has to set in, my friend.  Both albums sold a million, that's it.  The fans' verdict has been rendered.

This isn't about Axl's "right" or what he "deserves."  He's part of selling us a product called a reunion, and if you're selling a reunion you shouldn't be playing songs from when you were apart.  And if he keeps larding the setlist with Chi-Dem songs, attendance will start dropping.  It's not 12-13 minutes:  When they do 4 Chi-Dem songs it's at least 20 minutes of a 150 minute show.  That's totally uncalled for in a reunion show -- if it was 1-2 songs that would be a different story, but here we're seeing Chi-Dem songs bump songs from Lies completely out of the concert.

"Axl's uninportant solo album". This is crazy. I respect everyone and we have our musical tastes. But CD is a Guns Album and is Important  (in many ways). I think stop complain the set List.  I for example would delete KOHD. But they like it. I love TWAT and think it is one of the better songs ever. Way better of Dont cry.  But they are musical tastes. So in the end what the hell are you complain about? Nonsense At all.

It is objective fact that Chinese Democracy is not an important album because it did not sell well and it did not influence any rock n' roll movement at all.  It's simple:  An album that sells only 1 million copies (most from a Best-Buy pre-order) is nowhere near as important as an album that sold 5 million copies (Lies), an album that sells 7 million copies (each Illusions album), or an album that sells 18 million (Appetite).

Chinese Democracy is not important to most Guns N' Roses fans.  Most Guns N' Roses fans did not buy it.  And many who bought Chinese Democracy did not like it (including yours truly). So those fans should not have Chi-Dem songs forced down their throats at concerts that are supposed to be about reuniting the Iconic lineup that did not play on Chinese Democracy.

People aren't shelling out hundreds of dollars per ticket for a STADIUM TOUR to listen to Axl's favorite Chi-Dem songs that Axl.  People are paying for a reunion of the old Guns N' Roses. If Axl wants to unilaterally pick his much less popular Chi-Dem songs, then he (and you) can go take those songs to the 5,000 seat venues he was playing with his replacement band before the reunion.   He can rehire DJAshba, Bucket-Bumble-head-foot, and Tommy Stinson to play those songs.   And I won't be going.

You are entitled to your own tastes.  My problem is that Axl, you and all the Chi-Dem sycophants are for forcing his choices on the rest of us, who loved the prior albums.

  14. Chi-Dem fans keep talking around the facts:  Appetite (18x), Use Your Illusion I & II (7x each) and Lies (5x) are 5-18 times more popular than Chi-Dem.   But we're getting just 0-1 songs from Lies, 3 songs from Use Your Illusion I, 3-4 songs from Use Your Illusion II, AND 3-4 from Chi-Dem??!!!

That's ridiculous!   Chinese Democracy is nowhere near as important as either Illusion album or Lies (which includes a Top 5 hit and the Live! Like a Suicide demo).

This isn't about bashing Chi-Dem.  This is about why are we getting so much of Axl's unimportant solo album instead of signature songs from the classic records that we ALL love!

That said, I'm with AxlsFavoriteRose that the Chinese Democracy songs give you time during a concert to hit the bathroom.  They're also great for waiting on line for drinks -- I sing the lyrics to "Better" while I'm waiting for a Budweiser...

    Look, it's really simple.

    1. The album is very poorly produced. Songs that could have been good have been irreparably ruined by the mixing.

    2. Axl has great ideas and is a talented lyricist. However, CD proves he is not guns n Roses. He has the ideas but he can't execute flawlessly without his all star team (Izzy, Duff and Slash). Even Buckethead couldn't save him because it wasn't really a creative collaboration -- he was just cutting and pasting bucket riffs (see below).

    3. The creative process for CD was screwed up. Overusing pro-tools to mix and match thousands of different takes from a gigantic revolving door of session musicians is not a great way to recreate the wild, spontaneous spirit of the original band. That's why so many fans feel the album is soulless -- because it was a Frankenstein product that was cobbled together on pro tools instead of the band jamming together.

    4. Axl stagnated creatively. His lyrics on CD were underwhelming because the guy was still pining over Stephanie Seymour and feeling sorry for himself after the original lineup walked. He was much less interesting and vital during the Chinese democracy years.

The more I think about it, the more I feel that this CD era should be closed and tossed into the rubbish heap. 20 yrs wasted on this shit. For what? A handful of once-promising songs that are stale and ignored at concerts by most fans. Let it go. Nu guns was a failure and a blight on the legend of GnR.

    Well said.  Agreed!

  16. Bottom line:  No one has come up with a good reason why we're getting 3-4 Chinese Democracy songs at the expense of all the songs from Lies.  This isn't about bashing Chinese Democracy (even though it is mediocre and subpar for GnR).  It's about skipping an entire album of the Iconic lineup's work for 4 songs off an album that didn't include the Iconic lineup.  It makes no sense, and it's not fair to fans of the Iconic lineup -- which dwarf the Chinese Democracy fans.

At the 7/23 MetLife show, the crowd was almost silent for "Better" and "This I Love" both because the songs are average and most of the crow did not know them.    Let's skip the subjective point and get right down to the facts, here are the album sales numbers (US):

    Appetite:  18x Platinum

    GnR Lies:  5x Platinum

Use Your Illusions I & II:  7x Platinum Each

    Chinese Democracy: 1x Platinum

With those album sales, there is NO WAY we should be getting 4 Chinese Democracy songs.   Objectively, people just didn't buy Chinese Democracy and just didn't like it as much as the prior albums.  And on top of that Duff and Slash didn't play on it.  So Eddie Money's point that this is due to Axl's hubris sounds about right to me.

  17. I'm with you on the covers.  Way too many covers, too!  I count SEVEN covers on this tour:  (1) Live and Let Die; (2) New Rose/Attitude; (3) Speak Softly Love/Slash Solo; (4) Wish You Were Here guitar duo; (5) Layla Intro to November Rain; (6) Knockin' on Heaven's Door; and (7) the dreaded, Seeker.   And some nights have an "Angie" intro to Patience plus "You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory" intro to the Duff vocal cover.    That's a lot of covers for a band with it's own following.

You only really need Knockin' on Heaven's Door and the Slash Solo cover, and maybe Live and Let Die.  Although I loved the show (metlife 7/23), I went to see Guns N' Roses, not the world's greatest cover band....

Agreed 100%.  This isn't about bashing Chi-Dem.  It's about missing out on great Appetite/Lies/Illusions songs.   "Better" and "This I Love" aren't worth missing out on Patiernce/Don't Cry (mega-hits), Perfect Crime, Pretty Tied Up, Locomotive, Don't Damn Me, Right Next Door to Hell, or Breakdown.   Also, it's strange to have 3 Chinese Democracy songs and 0-1 songs off GnR Lies and call this a reunion of the Iconic lineup.
