  1. I'm going to the Charlotte, NC show. I must admit that I'm only going to see Alice Cooper. I'm not a big Maiden fan but mostly because I don't know a whole lot of their stuff. I have Iron Maiden's first 2 albums and I just downloaded The Number Of The Beast so I can least some of their Bruce Dickinson era stuff. Sounds like TNOTB is their most famous album so I thought I'd start there (plus it was only $3.99 on Amazon). I am looking forward to the show though. Maybe seeing Maiden live will make me a fan.

Check out the Seventh Son Of A seventh Son album. They will be playing alot of stuff from that one. Plus it's a great album.

Definitely check out Seventh Son, Charlotte will be the first time some of those songs have been played since 1988, and the first time some of them have ever been played with a 3 guitar lineup ;) Off of NOTB, you're likely to hear The Prisoner, Number Of The Beast, and Hallowed Be Thy Name.

The rest of the setlist will consist of all 80's songs (Unless they throw in Fear Of The Dark again :vomit: ). Off of the debut, they'll definitely play Iron Maiden, and I'm always hopeful they'll bring out Phantom Of The Opera. Off off Killers, the title track is the only one that really has any hope of being played. From Piece Of Mind you'll likely see Die With Your Boots On and Still Life, maybe The Trooper. I doubt they'll play anything from Powerslave. From Somewhere In Time, you can expect Wasted Years, and maybe Heaven Can Wait.

Take my predictions with a grain of salt because they are just that, predictions. But I've also been pretty spot on with the last 2 tours in my predictions; in 2010 I guessed 13 out of 18 right (I say 18 because I'm including the 2 songs dropped throughout the tour...Brighter Than A Thousand Suns and Paschendale. I didn't guess Ghost Of The Navigator, Wrathchild, Dance Of Death, Blood Brothers, and Running Free). In 2011 I guessed 15 out of 16 right (All I missed was The Evil That Men Do)

Thanks for the suggestions/predictions. I'll start with Seventh Son and go from there.

  3. Couple of Maiden albums. Worst band ever.

Couple of Jeff Buckley live albums. There's about 50 of them and they are all shit. Buy Grace and download the song Everybody Here Wants You and you have all the Jeff Buckley you need.

Oh, and the absolute biggest regret was spending 30 bucks on that Hollywood Rose: Roots of GnR album. Gilby should be shot for getting involved with that shit.

I agree. Nothing against Gilby but as soon as I picked up that album in the store and saw Gilby's name on it I thought, "What business does Gibly have remixing Hollywood Rose songs?" To this day I only listen to the original demo versions of the songs on that album.

  4. I'm pretty excited about this too. Not wild about the fact that we're getting 1 song we've already heard and 2 old ones that are being reworked. Almost like they couldn't come up with enough new material to make a whole album. I'm still pretty eager to hear this. If it's anything like Endgame, it'll be great.

  5. Aerosmith (Raleigh, NC)- Saw them in 2006 when they were touring with Motley Crue for the Route of All Evil tour. Always been a big Aerosmith fan but seeing them live was an amazing experience. The set was killer and every member of the band was right on point. Unfortunately Todd Hamilton wasn't playing with the band that night because he was undergoing treatment for cancer. By the way, Motley put on a good show but Aerosmith really stole the show on this particular night.

Guns N' Roses (Greensboro, NC)- Also saw them in 2006. Besides taking forever to come onstage, this was a spectacular show. Everyone played great, Axl seemed to be in a great mood, and the set was really good. Considering the fact that I NEVER thought I'd get to see GN'R live made this concert even better.

The Goo Goo Dolls (3 times in Raleigh, NC and 1 time in Greensboro, NC)- These guys put on a great live performance. I've seen them 4 times and feel like I got my money's worth everytime. They just announced that they are coming back to Raleigh this summer and I assure you I'll be going to that show too.

Joe Cocker (Cary, NC)- Joe played a great set and was full of energy. I am just a casual fan but after this show I realized how good this guy really is.

Robert Plant (Raleigh, NC)- Saw him in February 2011 for the brief tour he did for the Band Of Joy album. The set was great. He did a nice mix of Zeppelin, solo stuff, and new takes on Zeppelin classics like Black Dog. The man can still hit the notes in songs like Rambe On from the Zeppelin days.

Eric Clapton (Raleigh, NC)- Saw him in 2006. The set wasn't great to me because I'm not familiar with a lot of his more recent music but when he played Wonderful Tonight and then went right into Layla I think my heart skipped a beat. He closed the show with Crossroads which was just plain cool to see live.

Heart (Raleigh, NC)- Saw Journey, Heart, and Cheap Trick when they toured together. Journey and Cheap Trick did great like I expected but I thought the Heart set was gonna put me to sleep. I know Heart's hits and I like some of their songs but I really wasn't looking forward to hearing them as that much. As soon as Nancy played the first cord and Ann started singing, I was in shock. EVERY song was great. What really stole the show was their cover of The Who's Love Reign O'er Me. When Ann Wilson hit the note at the end I thought the speakers would bust. It was unbelieveable!

  6. Wow that's the first good praise I've heard from the frist 2 albums Desperado. Even when I read Cooper's book he didn't speak on them too much so I figured they weren't really worthwhile. I might have to look into them.

Good praise so far on the weird albums. I have heard Clones (We're All) since it was on the Mascara & Monsters album and I like it. So if I get them should I start with Flush The Fashion since it came out first or is there a better one to try out?

  7. I've been an Alice Cooper fan for years now but only really knew the hits. Over the last year I've really gotten into his music. I've got all of his albums except for the bands first two releases (and I'm not completely convinced I'll ever pick that one up), Lace and Whiskey, and his four albums from the early 80's: Flush The Fashion, Special Forces, Zipper Catches Skin, and DaDa. I know a lot of people consider to be those 4 albums from the 80's his weird and not so popular albums since he was drunk out of his mind during that time period and he was experimenting with a New Wave sound and all.

So are there any Cooper fans out there who like any of the albums from this era?

  8. The first time I heard Sweating Bullets (which was also the first time I saw the video which is pretty ridiculous itself) I couldn't help but laugh. I thought it was the worst Megadeth song I'd ever heard (and yes that includes the majority of the songs on the Risk album). However, once I bought Countdown To Extinction, Sweating Bullets ended up becoming my favorite song on the album.

  9. Brutal Planet is a really good CD. The title track, Blow Me A Kiss, and Sanctuary are my favorites. I just got Dragontown a few weeks ago. My favorites on that one are Every Woman Has A Name, I Just Wanna Be God, and It's Much Too Late. Both are very good albums. They both took a couple listens to really get into though.

  10. Led Zeppelin's Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman) from the Led Zeppelin II album. As soon as Heartbreaker is over I quickly reach for the "Skip" button so I don't have to hear this damn song. Never liked it one bit.

is funny because if you listen to radio, you'd think they were a single song... :shrugs:

Yeah I can't stand how the radio does that. Again, as soon as Heartbreaker ends I change stations or turn the radio off.

  11. Maybe I missed it but has no one mentioned Off He Goes? I don't know that I can confidently say it's my favorite Pearl Jam song (because I can't honestly say that I have a single PJ favorite song) but it's definitely in my top 5.

My other favorites are : Black, Wishlist, Better Man, Yellow Ledbetter, Rearviewmirror, Lukin, Go, Thumbing My Way, State Of Love and Trust, Light Years, Down, and I Got ID.

  12. I really like Third Eye Blind. I was only a casual fan up until last summer. Pretty much just knew their hits. I went to a concert they did in Norfolk, VA last summer with a friend of mine and after that I really started getting into them. Got all their albums. Their first album (as someone already said) is great. I am only into a few of the songs on Blue. Out Of The Vein is a little more my taste. Songs like Blinded, Crystal Baller, Forget Myself, and My Hit And Run really do it for me. Ursa Major was a good CD too. I mostly like the first half of the CD more than the second half. If anyone who's a fan ever gets the chance to see them live I HIGHLY recommend it. Stephan Jenkins has so much energy and charisma on stage. The drummer is also really good. When I saw them he did a killer drum solo towards the end of Jumper that literally made my jaw drop.

  13. The past couple months I've been listening to a lot of Alice Cooper. Listening to Constrictor and just bought Alice Cooper Goes To Hell.

Also listening to Cheap Trick, Something For The Rest Of Us by Goo Goo Dolls, and I just bought Countdown To Extinction by Megadeth the other day. Oh yeah... a lot of Skid Row/Sebastian Bach too.

  14. dude paid his debt.

Not really... after the Dingley crash he was more or less sentenced to tour with the band.

I do have a certain amount of sympathy for him though. Sounded like he went through hell with the death of his daughter and that. Not sure why he's releasing this book though... can't see it being that much different from The Dirt. :shrugs:

I thought the same thing when Tommy released his book Tommy Land

  15. Okay personally I'm not the biggest U2 fan. I mean I like a good many of their songs. One.... awesome! Sunday Bloody Sunday.... amazing! Elevation.... amazingly awesome! Anyways I can definitely say that they do the damn thing. They put out albums on a consistent basis (And from what I've heard from their albums, they are all quite different). They still tour quite a bit. Like I said, I'm not the biggest U2 fan but I can't knock them. They do everything that a good band is supposed to do.

  16. I'd have to agree that as good of a bad that Pearl Jam is and as good as they sound on their albums (especially their stuff from Ten to Riot Act) they are superior as a live band. Every member of the band absolutely goes all out in concert. I've never seen or heard a Pearl Jam concert where I felt that any member of the band wasn't giving it their all.

The Goo Goo Dolls are also an excellent live band. I love their studio albums but they really bring out impress with their live music. Next month I'm going to see them for the 4th time.

Metallica is awesome live. Again, their studio albums rock too but they are AMAZING live. I put Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin in this same category. Great albums but excellent live performances.

  17. I haven't heard the new Eminem yet album yet (yeah I know I'm super late but I'll get around to it soon) but I can't say I completely agree with this statement. Although many might disagree, I use Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, and Metallica (namely James Hetfield) as an example. Even though they all made some kick ass music when they weren't sober, they've all made some really good music once they put the drugs behind them.

  18. Any you guys ever see killa season?

Yeah I've seen it. A buddy of mine was really into making beats for rap artists a few years ago. He even went to NYC and met with Cam'ron and his guys. He gave me the DVD to borrow and watch. From what I remember it was not made really well but it had it moments. Wasn't unwatchable but definitely didn't deserve any awards or anything.

  19. Just watched Raising Arizona. Pretty ridiculous movie. John Goodman was funny. There were a few moments that made me chuckle. It seems that with the exception of The Big Lebowski, I don't "get" any of the Cohen Brother's movies.

Watched Mad Max and The Road Warrior over the past couple days. Mad Max was decent. The Road Warrior was damn good. Going to watch Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome is next on my list.

Watched New Jack City recently. Ice-T looked like a black Axl from 2006 in the movie. Overall a pretty good movie.

Watching When Harry Met Sally now. I saw it a couple years ago in a college Interpersonal Communications class and thought it deserved another viewing.
