After some thought i thought of these 2...

pearl jam- black

so i've been meaning to post about this band for like 2 months... i love them and they're relatively new...
i was wondering if anyone knew them or liked them??
if not then songs to check out would be twilight, hey lady, secret life, angels on the moon....

oasis are a great band and i like them....
wonderwall and champagne supernova are pretty famous songs....
everything else... is just stuff i listen to... dont look back in anger, the masterplan, stand by me(acoustic pool version is the best) are some of my favorites...i love stop crying your heart out too

fun that people dont like cornell's bands but he's still doing well... vedder is second with pearl jam in this poll and last in the other..hmm...
-
All I have is In Rainbows. I liked it. Is Ok Computer a good place to start getting into their other stuff?
ok computer or the bends prolly are what most people would say..... pablo honey has creep...and there's amnesiac...
i love love love my iron lung.... i forgot about that song when i posted my opinion....

discuss anything from thom yorke, to the songs, to their uniqueness to w.e..
i personally think they're quite possible the best band of the last decade....
each of their albums is unique....
i love yorke's voice...
and they made paranoid android, creep, fake plastic trees, karma police and so so many other songs...
let the discussion begin
-
i can't believe vedder is in last place..... hmmmm...
-
Where the fuck is Scott Weiland?!?!
im trying to stay away from anything gnr related as that would certainly boost it..plus STP werent really grunge as said before
-
i thought it'd be interesting to see which band people like the most so we can see if this is representative of the singer people are picking....
i say pearl jam..they just have a lotta songs that are really good...and continue to do it even today
-
to whoever mentioned hungerstrike above..
yea i thought about that song when i did my vote cuz cornell does sing a bit better... i think i heard though that cornell wanted to do a lower part and since they were with pearl jam members vedder was around and sang the part and cornell liked it so much he let vedder record it....
I think for me what did it more is that vedder's emotion live is so intense...see the mtv unplugged version of black and other songs and i like pearl jam the most of any of these bands..
EDIT: I wonder what would happen if i added guys like thom yorke..... and just made it best 90's vocalists...for me yorke would prolly beat all of these guys listed....
-
just wanna see what people say
for me it's vedder... i like pearl jam the most out of these bands and love vedder's emotion live.....
-
never thought many people on a gnr forum would like them....
but i thought they were just ok till recently and just thought they had like 3 good songs..then recently i saw a concert by them on MHD.... i realized how good and catchy some of their songs are...i had never heard those songs before...what i had was like bright lights and unwell along with 3 am and long day
now i love bent, the real world, these hard times, how far we've come, disease, and the other ones..
-
they're amazing and rob thomas is a great singer/songwriter... discussion is open..feel free to discuss albums, songs, the band.... whatever
-
like i read from coldplay's lead singer in the rolling stone interview... "I'd be a eunich just for writing paranoid android."
radiohead without a doubt...i like the song viva la vida though... best coldplay crap since their first album when they did yellow...but in rainbows was amazing and sold on the internet without a record company...
radiohead had house of cards, weird fishes and videotape...those 3 alone would decide it for me
-
there's a lot for all time
however right now..since they just came up with a new album and have these 2 songs that i find amazing and think are up there with my best of all time..esp fake plastic trees....
fake plastic trees- Radiohead..
Her green plastic watering can
For her fake Chinese rubber plant
In the fake plastic earth
That she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans
To get rid of itself
It wears her out, it wears her out
It wears her out, it wears her out
She lives with a broken man
A cracked polystyrene man
Who just crumbles and burns
He used to do surgery
For girls in the eighties
But gravity always wins
It wears him out, it wears him out
It wears him out, it wears...
She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My fake plastic love
But I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run
And It wears me out, it wears me out
It wears me out, it wears me out
And If I could be who you wanted
If I could be who you wanted all the time
and videotape- radiohead
When i'm at the pearly gates
This'll be on my videotape
My videotape
Mephistopheles is just beneath
And he's reaching up to grab me
This is one for the good days
And i have it all here
In red, blue, green
In red, blue, green
You are my center when I spin away
Out of control on videotape
On videotape
On videotape
On videotape
On videotape
This is my way of saying goodbye
Because i can't do it face to face
I'm talking to you
Before it's too late
on videotape
No matter what happens now
I won't be afraid
Because i know today has been
The most perfect day i've ever seen
