Thanks guys ^_^ Now to find somewhere to live...

Will you be looking to live near the hospital?

Hopefully it isn't slap bang in the middle of Wimbledon due to costs :) Though you did say you live in Guildford which is ridiculous for rent anyway!

Ah cool :) I'm in Guildford currently, if I take the new job we'll probably move to the Wimbledon area.

Wimbledon is a really nice place - my best friend and her fiance rent an apartment there :) The only downside is how expensive it can be, but that's life :)

I hope you're happy in whatever decision you make :)

It would be closer into London than I am now.  Where do you work?

Currently near the Southwater area, so nowhere near London.

Suppose you can call it bordering into Sussex, but I'm looking to move near Redhill in the next year as I've eyed up a nursery place for my little one there which is ideal, fingers crossed.

It's nice to see another vet on here :P

I completed a "for beginners" rock climbing course this summer and loved it. I'm still too pussy to climb on a real cliff though

I've spent most of the night trying to figure out which GNR 2017 shows I'll attend. I wanna hit some Euro shows and meet up with some friends but planning ferries, flights and hotels is a nightmare - kudos to the poor bastard who had to plan the band and crews travel and accomodation itinerary.

It's real good fun! I got into it at Uni, but its tough to organise these kind of nights due to my son being really young and the price of childcare...

I have already saved up for the Vienna show though :headbang:

  5. Prices are sky-high, I feel a bit ripped-off.

I've gone to 6 Guns concerts but feel outpriced! It's why I'm heading to the Vienna one  - their golden circle is half the price of ours... :max: Know a couple of friends there from my uni exchange so should be good.

  6. Hi!

I've just joined this forum, browsed a few threads and probably should have made this post my first but found myself reading the Anything Goes section :P

    Ya'll seem like a nice bunch :P

Can anyone direct me to the Europe 2017 tour thread? I want to see who else is flying off to Austria!

I'm hoping this forum helps me through the holiday season, just finalised my divorce and really wanted the company of similar people :headbang:

Hello everyone. Just joined this forum last night. I used to be a regular on another forum about 11 years ago, but due to issues beyond my control, I stopped. Have had a really rough year, lost my dad, had to move back to Atlanta to help my elderly mom, getting divorced after eighteen unhappy years of marriage... so now I am rebooting my life with lots of GnR.  Feeling much better already.

    Hi! I'm new too!

So I've not been particularly happy at work for much of this year...we've been super short staffed for ages and I just don't feel the job is the same as when I started 2 years ago.  I interviewed with an AMAZING practice and have a 'trial day' tomorrow but they've basically said it's just for me to properly meet the team and see how the place runs day to day before they formally offer me the job.  I'd go from working in branch clinics by myself 3 days a week to being the most junior of 9 vets in one hospital, it's more money and the hours are more appealing.  But of course because it involves moving, and will be more challenging as I'll be pushed to develop more, my anxiety is kicking in that I'm going to do a terrible job, or make the wrong decision in whether I take the job or not

In a similar position - but I want to move from a hospital to branch clinics..Whilst being in a hospital is great experience, nothing gives you responsibility like running branch clinics. I often feel like I'm not learning enough as I'm 'lower down'. Is your reason just the hours and money?

By 'moving' do you mean 'different town/city' or just moving 'job/clinic'? if it's the latter than that's normal :) I'm working at a hospital in Surrey, and it seems you probably work near where you live so I'm interested to see what area/hospital you were considering, maybe it's mine!
