  1. Hi ..

This goes out to fans that are living in Japan and those who know how to book tickets for the concert dates in Japan.

I live in Singapore and would like to know if there is a way to book these tickets online or something.

Please help .. would really really love to see GnR perform live!!

    Thanks.

  2. i think the one of the main reasons why GnR has 3 guitarist is this below, and I can see why because it plays to the strengths of each of the players.

Robin - solos for new songs .. if you observe closely, he plays in most of the solos in the CD songs ..

Fortus - he nails the solos in AFD and UYI songs .. he's good at this

Ron - he provides rythm guitars when the above 2 perform solos .. and sometimes puts more metal/aggresive solo rendition of the old song ...

    there you go ..

  3. Here's what I think, breaking them down by instruments:

    1. Drums - pretty good by rock n roll standards, but I would have prefered to hear some new types of rythms. NIN's With Teeth untraditionals rythms or Radioheads Kid A album rythms comes to mind. (note: I'm talking about rythms & beats not sound).

    2. Bass - here's where I think the band is lacking. The bass is nothing more than providing foundations for rythm, unlike Duff's bass lines where you hooks & melodies can be heard.

    3. Rythm Guitars - pretty standard too. I would have preferred chords that moved more, like Izzy's and Keith Richard's. The standard-one-key rythms reminds me more of Metal bands like Metallica or Megadeth.

    4. Solo Guitars - pretty cool but every line is rehashes of all other rock bands' solo tunes based on blues. I would have preferred to hear new tunes & hooks.

  4. 2001 is one of my all time favorite movies, partly because you discover something new at every watch, and party also due to Kubrick's genious and perfectionism (something absent in today's Gen-X directors).

I picked up a 'making of' book of this movie and remember reading something about Kubrick spending over $10m (an astronomical stash of cash in those days), 5 years making it, and sucking all of MGM's resources including all of their stage studios, etc. And one of his collaborators said that if MGM didn't 'force the movie out of Kubrick's hands', he would still be perfecting, editing, reshooting the scenes today (if he were still alive today).

Doesn't that sound like how Axl? And the way he is 'building' his Chinese Democracy?

Well, I hope so .. for the sake of the fans .. let's hear something this year.
