Doesn't Duff live in Seattle? I had the same question when I saw that photo of Slash in his back yard. My point is- if they are all hanging in the same area on the break, can that mean they're working on something? Maybe?

I know, I know... fuck no...

    *grasps large handful of straws*

I'm pretty sure Duff can afford houses in both Seattle and LA. And probably a couple more too...

Anyone can sing, but having control of your voice is a completely different story, and that's where Axl fails miserably, and thats nothing bit lack of practice. It's not learning the songs, it's knowing how to breathe and basically knowing how to control your vocal chords.

That times 100. Like any skill, a vocalist needs control and practice. Vocal skill gets often misinterpreted as a natural skill that you are born with, when in reality it is obtained for the most part through mastery.

I went on a marathon this afternoon and finally finished.

I feel the same as @RussTCB and @alfierose. It's hard to try to help someone when in the eyes of that person you can't do anything right. That's Hannah. :shrugs:

My heart goes to Clay. The fact that he was on those tapes without doing anything wrong (according to Hannah) is some passive-agressive bullshit. He didn't deserve it.

    The book is way better.

Justin and Alex are dating in real life? Good. Cute couple alert right there.

Oh man the book that the show is based on was really popular a loong time ago. I always thought the whole franchise was a very unrealistic depiction of suicide honestly.

I don't have netflix, just read the book.

Hey y'all, this is my WBEZ and NPR podcast empire thread.

Anyone listen to S-Town yet? Not gonna lie, I cried. Beautiful story about the man who "made an insurmountable challenge out of living".

There are pics of the hedge maze floating around (it is sadly in a state of decay now) I'll post them later.

Mods, wasn't sure if this is the right place for the thread, as its not a TV show or movie. If it belongs in the other forum feel free to move

Oh my god I loved S-town. That was my addiction for like a whole week.

    For example

In criminal justice, punishment should be more important than rehabilitation.

It is a waste of time to try to rehabilitate some criminals.

These depend on what kind of a crime that person has done.

My father was in prison growing up so I guess that makes me partial to rehabilitation. That is an experience that has really shaped me politically.

I think it depends more on the individual convict and who they are as a person then the crime itself.

Welcome. I remember that story about Duff having a hissy fit, it was discussed here in this thread at some point as well. @MillionsOfSpiders was the one who told it I think.

And I'm pretty sure many people share your feelings. I certainly do. I never thought we'd get what we have now, so I'm already pretty happy about the current situation. I'd like to see Izzy involved in this as well, but like I said earlier, that's not up to us and all we can do is wait and see how things develop and if the guys can sort themselves out.

Slash and Axl having an orgy with a bunch of ugly people

He really is tiny compared to most of the other kids there. Same with the track team picture.

No wonder he got bullied so much. It's one thing to be a weird kid with behavioral problems if you're big and imposing, but it's quite another thing if you're also small and weak in addition to that.

I certainly am glad I was always on the tall and not easily pushed around side of things.

I don't remember Duff having a hissy fit? What was that all about? And of course he is human we all are, and we all have those days.

Why does the school yearbook have the most obvious captions? "Girls find music fun" yeah I would have never guessed that.

When I was a kid my parents signed paperwork so I would not be in the Yearbooks and I am secretly glad.

No, this is the easy comment Axl's nutswingers use to justify that he's as obsessed and annoying as Del James, but most of them don't want to hang from Del's sack, so Axl's tweets about Trump become as equally amazing as if he was announcing new music

Maybe he and del talk about politics, I dunno. At least he writes his own tweets/social media.

Speaking of she kinda could be a Marill. I actually don't dislike Melissa though unlike some other members of this forum. She seems pretty cool to me and I mean no one can really hear the keyboardist except a little bit in the background.

I couldn't agree more. Literally the only time you could be sure of seeing Izzy live in the past 24 years is for four shows in Japan in 2000. That's crazy. People would be willing to fly to shows if they knew he was performing! Agitating.

And you aren't being a bitch at all, your'e just being reasonable.  This interview:

    http://www.snakepit.org/isrsnews.html

Stradlin has also apparently lost his appetite for self-promotion. After this interview, he called his manager, permanently canceled his press schedule and flew to Hawaii.

This was for his last album with Geffen Records. That was the last impression a major label had of him. Actions have consequences, even for rock stars. Rock music doesn't sell, period, but smaller bands and acts still find managers and labels and promoters, they tour and release records- they just work their asses off for it. You have to sell the hell out of yourself.  Really hustle. I just don't think Izzy can stomach that- that's why he "hates the business" and that's cool but no one is going to hand him anything either.

I kind of think that Izzy just wants what he wants when he wants it, and that's fine. It is what it is and what it is is Izzy and we're just here like :shrugs:

Lol he cancelled his press and just flew to Hawaii. That's life man. My kinda guy

I mean I don't really know if Izzy needs the promoting money, he's already a millionaire off of guns.

Official Release Date Confirmed - May 21, 2017

    http://www.indiewire.com/2017/01/twin-peaks-release-date-revival-david-lynch-showtime-series-1201764259/

‘Twin Peaks’ Revival: Release Date Announced For David Lynch’s Iconic Series

Lynch directed all 18 episodes of the revival, which finally landed an official premiere date.

It’s been more than two years since the “Twin Peaks” revival miniseries was announced, and this year marks its grand debut. During Showtime’s Television Critics Association panel, Showtime President and CEO David Nevins announced the official release date for the network’s much-anticipated series: May 21.

The 18-hour limited event series will debut with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, May 21 at 9 p.m. Immediately following the premiere, Showtime subscribers will have access to the third and fourth hours, exclusively across the Showtime streaming service and Showtime On Demand. In its second week, “Twin Peaks” will air the third and fourth hours back-to-back on the linear network, starting at 9 p.m., followed by one-hour episodes in subsequent weeks.

“The version of ‘Twin Peaks’ you’re going to see is the pure heroin version of David Lynch,” Nevins said, soon after the announcement. On Twitter, Showtime — in, we imagine, Agent Dale Cooper’s voice — addressed the announcement to one specific characterCreated by Mark Frost and David Lynch, the new episodes are a continuation of the original series, which ran from 1990 to 1991. It is set in the present day, 25 years after homecoming queen Laura Palmer’s shocking murder and sees the return of many original cast members, including Kyle MacLachlan as Special Agent Dale Cooper, Ray Wise as Leland Palmer, Harry Goaz, Miguel Ferrer, among others. Also back for the miniseries is composer Angelo Badalamenti, who was seen in an earlier teaser playing the “Laura Palmer” theme.

All 18 episodes of the the Showtime series are directed by Lynch. The show marks the filmmaker’s first project for film or TV since 2006’s “Inland Empire.”

“Twin Peaks” will premiere on May 21. Keep checking IndieWire for updates, footage from the new season, and more.

I loove twin peaks. I'm really excited and will defiantly see it when it comes out. I hope it lives up to the hype, but you never know. The X files reboot was really confusing. Let's cross our fingers!

I found it over near the mall, so I ended up going shopping too, which was great. After years of being pretty broke, I finally have money to spend on myself, so I spent about $150 in Victoria's Secret...and it was fun.

Awesome. Sounds really fun. I am more of a sale rack girl myself too hahaha. Sometimes you have to treat yourself. ;)

Helping is scary. Not growing old is just as scary as growing old and becoming your mom.

It's weird how I've gotten to the age where my mom and my stepmom actually seem pretty cool. My grandma, however, is the super opinionated type. Don't know why that is.

Now for my whine for today...gotta go all over town in search of my color hair dye because the stores seem to think it is acceptable to only stock one box of my color....hello some people do have really long hair and need two boxes to dye their hair...the closest store had one box, which I bought last week so now I have to drive around looking for the other one.

What hair dye do you use? Have you tried ordering online? I usually buy my dye and (hair dye) developer online or from a beauty supply store.

Yeah I feel you, my mom uses like 3 bottles of black dye her hair is so long.

I agree with this completely, and I don't think any doctor who truly had his or her patients' best interests in mind would ever suggest putting them on TV to work out their addiction issues. I feel that shows like Celebrity Rehab are incredibly exploitative. They're taking people who are in very vulnerable places, who are in some cases probably desperate for money and who perhaps are not making sound decisions at that point. They're using those people's issues for profit. It's trainwreck syndrome at its worst.

Don't even get me started on the "luxury treatment centers" they have in Hollywood. Do you really need a pool and a spa for your drug treatment or do you need the best staff and doctors? It seems like everyone is out to rip off these vulnerable people.

Yeah seeing Dr. Drew on TV just makes me sick.

God, why I feel sorry for him... I can't laugh about deleting tweets right now.

    2 hours ago, Kris_1989 said:

But they still do that regardless of what he posts.

I don't care so much that he deletes the silly tweets or the ones that aren't really important but it's frustrating that he deletes the music tweets. I know he thinks his music is available worldwide and easy to find but it really isn't. It'd be nice if he would leave links and stuff up where people can find it. But maybe he just doesn't care or something.

I think I already said this but it's Izzy. The fact that he has a Twitter account is weird. :shrugs: Not gonna lie, it made me sad to see that he had deleted the tweet to us but if he felt like doing it he must have his reasons. Truth is I cannot blame him. There's people out there that are nuts as fuck tweeting at him, people asking him about GnR constantly, people that responds to every one of his tweets with "i love you" ( dude, i love him too but i don't feel the need to remind him every second) or calling him stupid things in spanish. He's always been very private and I guess it just doesn't make him comfortable, I don't really know. Whatever, I have the feeling that, as sad as it might be for us, that account isn't gonna last long.

Stinking trollers on the internet, I hate them too!

Maybe he thinks Twitter has some kind of Storage limit and if he tweets more then the Storage will get over or something.

I mean Izzy is a man in his 50s, maybe he's not the greatest with social media and stuff yet. I was thinking the same thing about the "storage limit" thing. He kind of reminds me of my parents and technology sometimes. You don't even want to see my dad's Twitter account, it has some similar "quirks."

I do appreciate Izzy's music posts though. But what he does with his social media is up to him.

Why are doctor's offices so damn slow? I have been sitting in the in the parking lot listening to music for three fuckin' hours while my mom is at her eye doctor appointment....

Finally got finish at mom's doctor appointment, but on the way home this little square plastic trashcan fell off a truck and went under the damn car and got stuck and was dragging until I turned into a gas station to get it out and it dislodged when I turned the car. Then stopped by store to pick up cake I ordered for mom's birthday tomorrow and wouldn't you know it, they did not make the cake I ordered. Then got home and we have no fuckin' ice, the icemaker is broken.... god I hate days like this!!!

Yeesh, that sounds like a stressful day. I hope things get better for you soon. C:

I don't know why Doctor's offices are slow but the hospital I go to is actually pretty fast for some reason? ERs are the worst though. I've waited hours. So I feel your pain!
