Well, since there's no sign GNR is doing anything different that might spark new discussions and posters will always seek this place to vent their frustrations a bit, there's only one solution for you: leave the forum. How about that? Or do you want to censor posters? Or maybe you want to force everyone to like everything GNR? What could we do to change things? Help this place to move forward. Do you have new leaks? Any info regarding a new album? What can we do to stop the deja vu feeling?

    Ok. So long.

There allot of the current audience that haven't had a change to hear Patience and OTGM because they didn't buy into the New Guns. Rightly so. They have bought a ticket to see The reunion of a "classic" lineup and they want to hear the classics. Like it or not the show needs to be aimed at the causals. I bet there are many people going to the shows who don't even know what CD is and will come away very disappointed having spent allot of money not to see tunes like OTTM MM and Patience. Especially from a band that are not producing new music and are saturating the market and charging horrendous ticket prices, playing music that 20 years old even 10 if you cont CD.

    Yeah, let's party like it's 1993.

But seriously, the casual fans you are talking about get what they want already: they want Sweet Child of Mine, It's So Easy, Live and Let Die, November Rain, Mr Brownstone, Jungle, Heaven's Door...

They could update it with better songs (I use that term loosely) than ones of CD..  And instead of spending all their effort learning more CD songs, there are still classic songs in the set that they can't play right.

Yes, they should totally play My World! That's a UYI song and I believe they never played it before!

They have to find a balance between songs from each of their albums, covers, and the occasional tribute.

People wanted Slash. He's there. Duff, check. People are still not happy.

People wanted Estranged. They got their wish but they are not happy.

Shows, lots of  shows with Slash and Duff and Axl, lots of songs being played in 3 hours, but aaaah, that's not right because the don't play them properly (when you play live, you have to play exactly like on the record. If you don't, you can't play. Period).

This band can never win. Whatever they do, there is always someone who bitches about something. Deja vu gets boring.

Me personally I have an issue with ,I think someone said 42 percent of the show being either covers or CD tracks. I still feel as I'm I'm seeing New GnR as oppose to a classic lineup. For example its a crime AFD songs like Out Ta get me and UYI songs like Patience are being swapped out. I get the feeling this is still very much about Axl and Slash and Duff are just part of new GnR.

Gosh. So you would accept CD songs if they were played by the AFD lineup or even the UYI lineup? That's rather funny.

The classic lineup is no more. Unless you get yourself a time machine, there is no way you will see it. The current lineup is as classic as it can get.

There are so many songs to choose from. I saw GNR perform Patience and OTGM many times before. It would be a 'crime' (lol at this word) for the band not to update their setlist every once in a while,  don't you think?

Hi, don't we all want a setlist just for ourselves if we are honest? Everyone has his favourites...

Well usually I am front row during GNR concerts so I cannot go to the bar or do something else because I would loose my place in first row :-)

But you know what: it s only a minor Thing: in the end I am happy that they are back on stage again. I never thought it would happen. So not wanting them to Play so many "covers" is to be understood as minimal critizism.

If I wanted a setlist for myself I would visit Youtube, pick  up all the highlights, the best live versions of each GNR song I love and make my own playlist. I don't go to shows to complain about what's played though I reckon there are songs I like better than others.  It's all about watching those guys on stage together, which is priceless. I'd rather 3 hours including covers of non GNR songs than 2 hours shows.  Covers can showcase a band's talent more than their own songs. Hell they could play Dominick the Donkey version hard rock and I would be still be happy. :D

You're right, it's only a minor thing, besides I think the topic was actually about something else.

Why are we getting CD songs? I suppose it's because it's part of the catalogue. It's a GNR album, like it or not. Perhaps Axl wanted to see how the original guys could improve those songs to make sound them more like GNR. And it helps link this album to the rest of the discography, makes it a legitimate GNR album.

I know. So what? I love the covers that are on a GNR Album like KOHD, Mama Kin, LALD  etc.

I just dont like CD Songs (exept Better and This is Love) and ACDC covers or covers from Other Bands that arent on a GNR Album.

You sound like you want them to make a setlist just for you.

On any single album or setlist, there will be always be at least one song you don't like. Know what, just skip it or do something else, idk, FB, SnapChat or go to the bar while it's playing. Or just stand there and listen, maybe they will play it in a way that will make the song better (like what Slash does with This I Love).

I think it's great they pay their respects to artists who influenced them. Also we get to hear a new take on a song. They don't have to do GNR only stuff.

I know, I was on cloud 9 all day about the show, then was searching for feeds on Facebook and saw this and started crying. Being a Georgia girl born in Macon in the hospital across the street from their old record company, this one is too close to home for me....damnit ?

    Sending you virtual hugs.

Cant stand Vans and Converse and that.  I like a few low shits, like Stan Smiths, Superstars...but I got size 13 feet (14 in American size) so they just don't suit.  I'm a bit of a 90s high tops type of kiddie.

Should you ever want to go for classic shoes you can get some from this shop:

    https://pasdegeant.fr/4319970-chaussures-homme-grande-taille

It's a specialised shop. They ship to the UK (I take it that's where you live).
