Chinese Democracy is a GREAT FUCKIN ALBUM. There’s no denying it. There’s so many “ layers.” After recording it 6 times over and using a dozen + guitarists it took on many personalities and tones. Axl was all about the current guitarist in the band throughout the entire time it was being recorded. Even though he kept buckethead and Fincks parts, you can hear so many other licks/fills/solos/rhythms going on. I’ve listened to that album a million times and I am still hearing new sounds inside the song. Some songs have 5 different guitarists on them. As a musician I can be the 1st to tell you that “ less is more.” Nothing on Chinese Democracy had a slash guitar tone at all. When they play the Chinese songs live and it has 2 guitars with slash’s heavy tone, the songs sound fuckin brilliant and incredible. Even Richard changed his guitar tone. Richards tone and gear is much different then it was from 2002-2014. Fortus adapted to find a way to surround slash’s heavy tone. No longer uses any Gibson’s. With slash duff and Axl workin together it’s gunna sound a lot different then chines tone wise.

Guns N Roses future as far as touring goes really depends on an album. The NOTL tour was one of the biggest tours ever. That went 3 years,but they pretty much exhausted everything GNR had to offer. Without new material another tour would be as lame as kiss. They all want to make a new record and all of us true GNR fans have really been waiting since 1994. Before the “ reunion “ Guns/ Axl was hard at work in the studio. Yes there’s left over material from Chinese Democracy that wasn’t used and you can count on that being used. Axl isn’t selfish or an asshole when it comes to creating records. There were creative differences back from 94-97 among many other issues plaguing the band and it didn’t work out. However when it came to Chinese Democracy everybody in the band and who worked with the band had input. Just because Axl has material, doesn’t mean that the song will stay that way. It’s gunna have the GNR vibe n sound we all want. It’s not gunna be an AFD or illusions record so don’t go comparing it to that once it comes out. Those Chinese songs they currently play with slash and duff sound killer and even better. How they reprised Better and perform it now is so much cooler and a much better song then it was on the album. Same i5h Chinese Democracy. You got slashes heavier guitar tone and this rawness to it. New album WHEN it comes out will do well.

The Bridge school disaster Axl had SEVERE strep throat. Like bad. He wasn’t even gonna perform if it was up to management.it was a show for special needs and handicap I believe. I think it was a benefit from what I’ve found in research.he performed from the “ kindness of his heart” lol

As far as rio 2011 goes Tommy Stinson and Bumblefoot both said that that was 5e worse show ever. The reason why was because of the rain storm. All the electronics and guitars were soaked and shorting/cutting out. At that point it was about grinding it out and getting through the gig. You can find these interviews if you search for them

No need to talk shit. I ain’t trying to get personal.youre those getting all offended like an insecure person does. I went to 3 shows also. I’ll also agree that with AC/DC he sounded amazing,but it was a different register.it was more of a scream technique.and I’m not talking a “ Corey Taylor slipknot “ type of scream either. 2016 he did sound a lot better. Idc what you say, I was at the show and I remember how it was. I’m not just gunna make something up. Rocket queen was just absolutely killer. I remember him just killin it. They even played prostitute which is rare. When he’s singing his own GNR songs there’s so much more vocal registers,octaves and different techniques being used compared to the strait forward registers of ACdc.i wouldn’t tell you how concert sounded if you were there and I wasn’t. So keep watching your vids.

Sounded great in 2016, sounded good in 2017, 2018 started off rocky but got better.

YouTube vids.. and how was the quality of that?exactly my point!cause I was there in person and he had that sandpaper rasp going all night. He was on point. If you’re not there in person and unless it’s a professional video quality you can’t judge shit. Even the vids I have on my phone don’t resemble how the band sounded that night. I was sober as can be and about 35 feet from the stage.youre not gunna tell me he didn’t sound like that. May have even sounded stronger 

From what I’ve researched and found out is that in late 2010 Axl developed an infection/virus that eventually became strep throat. He kept singing all through the infection until he got to the point where he lost his voice. From what I found out and I’m not sure how true this is, he damaged his vocal chords. It’s not that he changed his vocal style. I just don’t think he can hit those certain notes every night anymore. The guy is 56. I saw them in Hartford CT in 2017. He sounded like 06-2010. He was on point and sounded fuckin amazing that night. They played 10 minutes under 4 hours. 56 years old and still performing like he was in his 30s every night. Just amazing.hes the greatest

Who gives a shit. Guy was a fuckin asshole.i was a fan of the “ Nue GNR “ but I NEVER liked Pitman. Was always cocky. Slash and Duff finally come ho,e and he talks shit. All the other formers members were stoked to see the reunion and here you have Pitman who still had a job and was a band member at that point talking shit. Know your place asshole. If it weren’t for those guys pacing the way you woulda never had a job or place on GNR history.

Afte years of hoping for a reunion I came to tears and accepted it would never happen. At that point I just wanted slash and Axl to be cool again and maybe one day Slash would make a guest appearance. GNR being my favorite all time band and me being a die hard true fan, I treated it just me a sports team situation. On your favorite football,baseball, basketball etc. our favorite players and coaches come n go. We usually stay fans of the players/coaches and follow them and support them but we stay true to our team. That’s how I pretty much dealt with it. 

I didn’t care for the “circus” lineup from 98-04 with buckethead and his robot dance numb chuck act, or Robin Finck and his whole gothic NIN look. It just was not GNR in anyway. I’m a fan of both  Finck and Bucket head but they weren’t GNR. They played great on Chinese Democracy but it looked like a circus on stage. Once Axl Finally got a legit band/lineup with Bumblefoot,Fortus,Ashba on guitar along with the man Tommy Stinson on bass, of course Dizzy fuckin reed and Frank on drums it was legit. I hate Chris pitman, I never liked him but he did do the band some justice. It was a legit band and a great show. At this point it was more like Axl Rose featuring...playing GNR. Me being a HUGE Replacements fan and tommy Stinson becoming the bassist in 98 i was stoked! Being a bassist myself Tommy is my all time favorite bassist.

it was a legit band. You had Ashba bringing back a sorta “ slash” vibe with smokin cigs on stage, top hat and les Paul’s. Fortus kinda looks like izzy and is just a brat all around guitarist. Plays from the heart and never plays anything the same twice. Bumblefoot is perhaps an all time great as far as technicality.Tommy Stinson brought that punk rock attack and vibe much like Duff and held the rhythm section down brilliantly.dizzy was dizzy as always and frank did a solid job with the drums while kinda making so,e of the beats his own.chinese Democracy is an awesome album! The live show was much like a GNR live show was. Each of the guitarist had their little solo act, Tommy would have his segment much like Duff when he would sing attitude, they had these little jams and renditions like always, a big production and a 3 hour show like always. It was the “NU” GNR. I accepted it and was a fan of the band.
