Much better than Absurd, but a collection of flatulence SFX would've been better than that.

But really, it's just okay. I enjoy it for what it is, but I think I prefer the leak at this point. Still, they did improve a few things with the final version, which I'm happy about. The intro being reworked is something that was sorely needed, and I'm glad they did that. Some parts of the demo felt sloppy (for obvious reasons), and they feel much tighter here. So, there are definitely some positives.

However, the actual sound of the song is pretty lackluster and borders on terrible. The mix is bland/flat, and I agree with others who comment about it sounding processed. One of the cardinal sins of rock is having something sound so processed to the point of it being a criticism of the overall sound of a band whose sound was once quite organic. There's just no life to it. No pep. It falls flat on its face right away as a result. How come the guitar has no bite to it? It sounds like it's being played behind a cement barrier.

I would say that I wish there were parts added with regards to vocals and such, but we all knew that wasn't going to happen.

Overall, it's okay. Nothing mindblowing, but it's at least a better song this time 'round. A relief, to be sure.

Both songs sound like a collection of uploading ,emails and copy pastes and I did like Chinese democracy

LIke a super bad edition of what younger bands like BMTH do with their tunes it works for them it is not working here

Yes, it is new if it hasn’t been released nor heard by the vast majority.

When the UYI albums dropped, nobody was complaining that many of the songs had been worked on for years. Even before AFD ever dropped.

There were songs from AFD and LIES that were tunes brought over from previous bands.

    What’s the difference?

Doesn’t matter whether parts existed and/or were recorded in 1999 or 2005 or 2016 or 2020. The final result is new and previously unreleased just as NR, Don’t Cry, Back Off Bitch, and others were in late 1991.

And these 2 new tunes have SLASH and DUFF’s input/additions to them.

It’s no different than when AXL had most of NR and Estranged already worked out only to have SLASH contribute to it. Or when SLASH had ‘Girth’ as his own baby and AXL wrote lyrics for it.

These two songs are ideas AXL brought to the table that SLASH and DUFF have now contributed to and made their own.

They are new songs. The only notable difference is how long the songs sat idle until being officially completed and released.

Hardcore fans are too obsessed and focused over the fact that they’ve known about the projects for years and had heard leaked demo versions due to the day and age we live in where things aren’t able to be kept in the dark as easily as they used to be.

95%+ of those that consider themselves GN’R fans but aren’t the hardcore types living on fan forums or actively searching for unreleased demo content have never heard of or about any the 3 songs that have released over the past few years.

I think the difference is very simple

You press play and you listen to you could be mine

after you are done listening to it you are in a state of bliss ofc you will not care for the details since the result is perfect

Now youy press play and you hear a mess, even if you dont know about the leaks etc the 2 tunes just feel wierd,

if you now add that most Hardcore fans have already listened to better versions of the songs for years then it becomes easy to understand

GNR fans haven’t had it so good  in years. And when it finally gets good how do some react? With needlessly pedantic moaning

    this is worse than before

Before we had some kind of hope left that this band can release something good now hope is gone we are just in this for the jokes

I really wish they would just mix the village leaks and release it as chinese 2

What the heck is all this doom and gloom - it's absurd! After reading some comments at this thread, I'm starting to think maybe GNR fanbase dosen't actually deserve anything any more. :P

Well because we teeling as EXACTLY is does not mean we are negative

I am perfectly happy slacking working from home as freelancer loosing money cause I am bored

    I personally have fun commenting

    the song  version is mediocre

and cover is really a joke

but I feel happy at the moment just taking a coffee forum chat over a new bad song

worlds not going to end :)

  5. "but what is the S in the top left corner, I don't think this is random, this must be related to something "

I swear to god last time I saw this S being drawn was back in the 90s in school

it is just a cool "S" everyone was drawing next to fiddo diddos L O L

TO say the cover is out of date out of anything,

I could only relate if it was 1995 or smthing

I actually believe the cover was made by axl after he had 2 photoshops tutorials in youtube

    joke cover

Dude… this sounds like it’s supposed to be the demo. Or a fan made remix. The village leak was a lot better. Opinions can change after it sinks in more, but damn. They cut the stuff that added flavor to the song. All the cool little things cut. Slash’s solo was cool but damn and really Axl taking the Mc Daddy Haaay Haays in the breakdown lol. And how corny is the fucking locker cover and the bell in the intro… ugh

Oh I just noticed the ultra low mixed heys heys are the same with EYe on you

It is a joke really axl cant get rid off some ideas once they stuck into his mind

He actually needs to have EVERY SINGLE SHIT RIFF AND IDEA stuff into this bloated songs

both songs really show they have been over over over baked and thought over for 25 years

I was always PRO axl in this band but at the moment the only hope is to let DUff and SLah write fresh riffs in couple songs  lets see

  7. It is unfortunate the way those songs are being released,

1.The vast population  will not care about them they are mediocre and also released like it is an adventure game u need to go out of your way and find out that there is an new GNR song

    2. They have put extra layers into an overlayered mess

3.THEY ARE 20 YEARS LATE ,on everything written by different people, played through the years by another dozen musicians, designed to be semi-industrial electronic now turned to hard rock

    4. The few people that actually care know the songs already, for 20 years , I remember just getting out of highschool with my crappy net around 2000 and downloading Silkworms

5.Everything is disconnected, the art is neutral, the handling of publicity is random no interviews no videoclips and in the end no care for the release, it is like Axl rose handed couple of demos with some orders and then went back into watching netflix in his villa

    TLDR

Too many yes man for Axl, have some respect for yourself SLash and duff an just leave GNR again

THe biggest Irony is that actually listening to Slash albums with myles(I hate his vocals) SLash could come up with better hard rock riffs in 2 days than the pile of shit that ESPECIALLY Hard skool is,

    P.S.

SIlkworms original used to be one my favourite GNR songs , the new absurd is a random mess
