  1. OMG I am sooooo excited! The variety of songs played will be even less than the Chinese Democracy era tours...and the rest is practically the same act we've been seeing for almost ten years now!!! Damn this exciting!!!! So excited...can barely contain it. Oh man...I am going to have diarrhea.

This 'Not in this lifetime' tour has lasted as long as a lifetime. What a cash grab. Bunch of old men milking the tit of their glory days.

  2. I haven't posted anything since all this reunion talk got seemingly serious because the whole thing makes me feel sick. Having supported the absolute fuck out of Axl and the core band that wrote Chinese and after years hoping Axl would come good on his promises to put out multiple records and phase the tired old shit out of the shows, the idea of him going out and playing EVEN MORE fucking shows promoting Appetite and Illusions is the most depressing fucking retarded bullshit I could imagine. As if enough causal fans haven't had the chance to hear all the fucking hits played in the same order hundreds of times in the last 14 years.

And fuck all the people who haven't been to a Guns or Slash show in the past 14 years who will suddenly want to go and see them at Wembley Stadium to sing-a-long to Sweet Child and November Rain. I go for a fucking PISS during Sweet fucking Child i'm so sick of it. Then they might just pull out Better and 89,000 hipster tossers will check their Facebooks.

Moreover, Axl has sworn time and again that he would never work with Slash. So if there ever is an announcement of Guns shows with Slash then there'd better be a bit in bold right at the top with Axl explaining just how he was so stubbornly myopically wrong about Slash being an evil, compulsive-lying cancer and also an explanation from Slash about why he's now willing to be an employee in Axl's touring jukebox.

Personally, as much as it'd be great for Axl's mental health for him to make peace and get the Slash monkey off his back, all I want from him as an artist is to put the rest of his material out and tour it with the musicians who wrote and recorded it. But assuming he does put any of that music out we can be sure it wont include any of the songs that are about his contempt for Slash or his legal battles with Slash and Duff over the past 15 years. Which would be an enormous shame because that is some of the best shit.

I bought Illusions they day they came out, I saw Guns in 1993 and I couldn't give a flying fuck about seeing Axl and Slash play a jukebox tour in 2016. I want Axl to be a fucking artist, just like he always wanted.

I was going to post something similar. Now I don't have to.

    Fuck a reunion.

  3. Stupid Sorum.

I like Hetfield even better now. Nothing wrong with hunting at all.

Like nothing wrong with killing people for democracy eh?

Are you fucking retarded? How does hunting equate to killing people. Fuck, you're one dumb SOB.

Stupid Sorum, thinking he's taking the moral high ground on this hunting "issue." What about other social issues he has chosen to ignore? This fucktard takes about an incestuous threesome he had with a mother and daughter. He's a creep with a bad hair cut.

  4. Of course Axl has to be a recluse in South America. He is god there.

They are outside his hotel, at the airports...etc. Even that hotel Vid he has to wait to see if the 'coast is clear' and security surround him.

He can't just walk around the beach and shops - would be a security nightmare.

I'd have freaked if I bumped into him in Smith's at Heathrow:

Would most likely end up in a secret prison somewhere. Totally worth it.

At first he was looking for a paleo recipe book, but then saw one for chocolate chip cookies instead.

  5. You guys wonder why the relationship with the band / management is difficult?

Have you seen the torrent of insults they get from this place?

Supposedly the new rules would prevent that - still waiting to see it happen.

I'm not saying everything is great with the band but I've never seen so much hate and insults coming from 'fans' - do you really think this is helping?

Maybe they had plans for those songs and now they have to change them because a few people stole them away...

You guys say you want to get closer to management, yet you keep authorizing people to antagonize them.

    Good old brown nosing, eh?

Management has always been insulting and rude to people on the board, so it's no wonder why things have become the way they are.

In this day and age songs leak all the time. You as an artist can't prevent it no matter how hard you try. You must adapt and do things like NIN, or just carry on with the original plan and release the material. Right or wrong that's the way it is now and it can't be stopped.

  6. The thing is though, we all know that "the band" are up for making new music. It's not fair on members like Ron, Richard, Tommy, Chris, Frank. I honesty believe that if this goes on Ron will be soon to exit the door, because we all know how he feels... and that was a year ago. Axl get all the guys in the room and tell them that from now on GN'R will only exist as a nostalgia band, and no new music will be created. But all this "we are working on new music" and "we are excited for the future" is wearing thin. I mean didn't DJ say a new album won't be as long as CD, and this was like 2009/10. For fuck sake it's getting a joke now to be fair... I bet somewhere Robin is laughing his fuckin head off.

Don't forget Bucket and Brain laughing too.

The real underlying joke of all the reunion talk is that even if Slash and Duff ever came back the band would probably still not accomplish shit since Team-Brazil-Toliet-Cleaners are in charge now. Can y'all imagine Beta and Perla getting along?

I remember when Chris Jericho said Beta came in to sniff the room/vibe of the radio show Axl did in 06. Well Beta can sniff my ass now. She'd prolly feel right at home coming from a background of scrubbing toilets.

  7. This exactly.

This statement is dreadfully worded, and it does nothing to inspire any confidence in anything new even being written anytime soon.

Is the disconnect between management and the fans now so great that they don't have an inkling of how important new music is to the fanbase? Seriously.

Not out to bash "Team Brazil," but I do think having them at the helm of the band is bad. Maybe not for Axl -- it's probably great for him: he has family to trust, he doesn't have to worry about a manager subversively attempting to reunite him with old bandmembers for a big paycheck. He gets to coast by and tour endlessly and do what he's ostensibly wanted to do for years, which is kind of rest on his laurels a bit, and they're not putting any pressure on him to do otherwise. They're pretty much the first manager he's had, I'd wager, who don't force him to do anything he doesn't want to do.

... Which is the problem for the rest of us, the fans, and why TB ain't the best choice of managers for someone who can be notoriously indecisive and didn't release an album in a decade and a half. They're going to just enable his behaviour. And I'm sure if he read this he'd get that "I don't owe the fans anything" mentality, and that's all well and good, but then don't be surprised when the fans stop showing up to the gigs. Sadly, he'll probably always be able to somewhat coast by on the GN'R brand name -- there are always going to be casual rock fans who show up to concerts to hear the big hits -- but I think that's where he mistakes the "fans" for the casual listeners, and in the process really kind of slaps the fanbase who stuck by him for years and years in the face. There's always been this kind of animosity towards "us" (collectively, as in, all online fans), and even in 2006 he had a few mini rants about the online communities. I remember him bitching at a gig in Ireland, I think, about how he couldn't give a shit about people online complaining about identical setlists, because he's "performing for the people who come to the shows" -- as if it never occurred to him that plenty of fans on the forums DO pay to go see gigs (multiple times), but, due to monetary issues and geographical issues, aren't able to fly around the world and go see every single gig. If -- as was the case -- some fans online paid to see multiple shows and got the same setlists and had a criticism about that fact, then it's not just "haters whining on the internet" who don't go to shows -- it's a valid fucking criticism and something that most bands would take into consideration. It also didn't occur to him, I guess, that probably 90% of his audiences on any given night were just casual music fans paying to see the hits played -- the sort of casual music fans who didn't rush out and buy his new album when we did.

The Internet fans were the only ones who really held out hope and had a vested interest in ChiDem when others mocked and ridiculed it. We were forced to congregate here online to discuss it and the band for years because there was silence, canceled tours, etc. The average, casual rock fan wasn't just disinterested in 'NuGNR' -- they were ignorant of the band's activity because of how difficult it was to even follow them for so long. I can't tell you how many times over the years I wasn't even able to hold a conversation with another music fan IRL about GN'R because they had literally no knowledge of the band post-breakup. Being a fan of this band has been challenging. I just feel like sometimes -- hell, very often, actually -- the online fanbase is derided as whiners and complainers and perceived as an enemy when, in fact, even just an appearance on a fucking talk show from Axl had people happy for weeks. It really doesn't take much to appease people on the forums. People only bitch because of behaviour like this from the people running the band, who somehow perceive us as ungrateful twerps, it seems. I really don't get it.

After this update, I have very little, if any, dwindling hope left for new material of any kind. I don't see pressure from the label - Geffen/Universal probably has already written off all older Chi Dem sessions by now and wouldn't be badgering Axl about a follow-up given the lackluster sales of that album - and I don't see much interest from anyone in the band except Bumblefoot and, to some extent, Ashba, who I think is only truly interested in writing new music because it'd help further publicize his name. Which I can't fault him for - at least he wants to do new music.

  8. This band is a waste of time now. I like their music and really enjoyed Chinese, however, the endless touring, lack of communication with the fan base, shitty official website and Axl's current inability to sing better than someone who has been kicked in the balls and is also high on helium has really made me lose interest.

I hoped this letter might lead to some good news, but in typical ridiculous GN'R fashion, it looks like there's nothing worth holding our breath for yet again.
