BBC2 is on if anyone wants a rerun of that incredible end!
-
No one expected this! Exceptional set!

What a fucking curveball!

Best RQ they’ve done since the 80s! Axl amazing at the end!

They’re on fire! So much energy!

Genuinely think the sound is programmed to lift Axl’s low/mid notes and soften the high notes.

Brilliant so far! Some difficult songs to come but the crowd are loving it!

Rick Astley and Blossoms my highlight! Come on Axl, best that! Really pumped for Guns!

Enjoy how people are painting this show up to be like some Rocky VS Apollo Creed event. With GnR as some underdog, after doing their highly successful reunion-tour for 7 years,
Don't remember people being this worried for Noel Gallagher last year or a new band like Wet Leg. But for Guns N Roses this is the one defining moment of their career. Hehe. This is a big moment. Noel and Wet Leg don’t have the issues that Axl has with his voice, nor were they headlining the Pyramid Stage last year.
Having watched Madrid this morning, they started really well and Axl’s voice was okay until around the middle. Tight set list and Axl doing okay on the big hits like SCOM and hopefully they’ll be okay. They’ll certainly bring more energy than AM.

Arctic Monkeys are getting the piss ripped out of them on social media - looks like GnR has a chance of not being the worst headliner this weekend
Just about to say that. Mardy Bum was awful. Turner has disappeared up his own arse.
Really flat set. I think Guns have a chance if they pick the right songs, at least Axl has energy. Just needs his voice to turn up.

They were on The White Room or Jools Holland back when that single was out. The singer looked like a right fruit loop.
Jas Mann was it? He was!

Funny thing was, loads of folk bought the single off the back of that advert and were then appalled once they realised that the high pitched, sped up part was only an intro to the actual song. The tune itself was at a much lower tempo and pitch.
The tune itself was a grunge-type dirge! 😂

Also interesting that they visited the studio. I honestly think (and hope) that’s Axl trying to work out what is working and what isn’t.

This could genuinely have gone down as one of the legendary GnR sets this weekend.
3 generations of rock icons in AM, GnR and Sir Elton. Just perfect.
Everything is set up, except the one thing we need more than anything- a healthy Axl Rose vocal.
I re-watched some Axl DC earlier and that is genuinely some of the greatest rock live vocals in history. Astonishing level of performance.
Unfortunately, Glasto has come at a time when Axl is back to his 2002 helium vocals.
Why oh why does this band time everything so poorly? 2006 would have been incredible, 2010 was solid too, as was 2016. So many golden opportunities to shine.
The 2023 shit however? Not even the biggest GnR and Axl fan here can pass this off as anything other than woeful.
Im crossing fingers that Axl has kept some power up his sleeve for tomorrow- cheering on from a distance hoping somehow there’s some magic he can reach into.
Unfortunately, I think they’ll get absolutely panned for what I’ve seen so far this year, and that’s just absolutely gutting.
Listened Back in Black this morning - genuinely thrilling! His current level isn’t like ‘02, he still had the power behind it then.
That being said, if they play the right songs and he puts the power into the right moments he may be okay. Listened Jungle from Oslo and despite an awful start the middle and end were decent when he put some rasp into it.

No way Elton is ruining his big moment on Sunday to duet on the Saturday. McCartney on LALD is a lot more likely. That would be something.

Arctic Monkeys on now, starting with some of their new material.
Setting the Bar GNR will need to follow
Interesting opener, but they have a lot of strong material to play. Subdued opener, but if they go into sometime like Brianstorm next the place will erupt. Calculated.

It’s a cool video, but only what has preluded the other gigs on the tour. That being said, they clearly know this is a big one. Come on Axl!

Honestly feel a great set would be Appetite into the rest of the hits. Jungle would get the crowd going, I’m not sure ISE will!

Who's watching the Monkeys tonight? Surround sound, some cool bears...getting into the mood. This might end up being the biggest show thread in a while 🙂
Defo. Enjoying the coverage so far. Praying for Axl. Spent the week making excuses for him! 😂
