I figured GNR would be humbled by the poor ticket sales at this show, but once they hit the stage, I was shocked at how full the stadium was. They closed off the upper deck, but the lower bowl and field was packed. So my hope of seeing them at star lake pavilion (smaller venue in pittsburgh), probably won’t happen anytime soon.

Good to hear man, so how many wee there do u reckon?? Maybe allot of tickets sold in the days leading to the gig.. Great for fans to get cheaper tickets for sure

  2. It's a shame the American leg isn't selling good at all , do the band still get paid

It's not a reunion tour anymore ,the reunion was 7 years ago but what it is , is an amazing show , the band on fire in Europe , new classics in setlist

Maybe it's the cost of living crisis or just not going back to see a similiar show for v high prices

The band need new music or maybe just do arena tours in USA and stadium in Europe etc

Guns n Roses members have made a fortune I'd presume since 2016 so no shame in doing arena tour in USA still be epic

Just back from the gig. Best I’ve seen them since the illusion days.

Kind of taken aback by Axl’s demeanour, just full of smiles all night as if he’s taken some happy pills - almost disconcertingly so.

Good vibes all round really - Slash even did a handstand as he left the stage.

I think the caveat to seeing them now is their age - Axl and Slash still bomb it across the stage impressively, but you can’t expect them to have the same dynamism.

That goes for the crowd as well - I was in the Golden Circle and people were really into it, but with 80 per cent of those around me well into their forties and beyond, it’s not the same atmosphere as what I guess I would have once associated  with a GNR gig (I nearly got crushed to death during Faith No More when I saw GNR at Wembley in 92 - people were going nuts).

Axl left everything on the stage, can’t  fault his commitment. As many have said before, when you’re at the gig the “issues”with his voice aren’t as apparent. The only glaring moment tonight was the outro for Coma which feels like it’s just too demanding. Bottom line is, he really looks like he’s enjoying himself right now and I don’t think any regular punter coming away from the show would say he was anything less than great.

Highlights for me would probably be Reckless Life - they really went for it- and as obvious as it is, Sweet Child. I think that was a proper hairs on the back of the neck moment, the collective singing of the crowd coupled with Slash’s solos really soaring just really took the gig to a special level.

For anyone on the fence about going to a remaining show on this leg, I’d say don’t think twice.
They’re in fine form. More importantly, they’re getting to the precipice of not being able to do this sort of show for too much longer, particularly Axl - belting those songs out in the way he does is pretty incredible - there’s a finite amount of time left that he’s going to be able to pull it off - so go while you can.

    apologies for the essay.

U wrote a great review here was there myself and all I can say is wow what a show .go while Axl can pull it off like he did tonight ..

Out of interest any idea how much the band make per show

  4. How well is the gig selling

When it first went on sale it was sold out

Now there seems to be loads of tickets

I will be in golden circle but really hope it's packed

    I can't believe it's not sold out

Slane was packed about 80 thousand people so really hope this one is practically sold out
