  1. Here's the thing, I don't care about the inner mechanizations of the old version of the band. Clearly, Axl doesn't want to give the media straight answers, and none of you speculating on the issue know what you're talking about. I care about 2 things....1. music 2. touring...unless I hear "A new album is out on _________" or "GnR announces dates in Anchorage", I will mostly just browse GnR news.

  2. So, when Jay Cutler returns to the game after getting shaken up, check out the crowd as they cheer his return. At about 4:35 left in the 2nd quarter, fake Axl and fake Slash are in the front row of the crowd. I wonder what made them choose that to wear to the game, but it was funny.

  3. Just make music that doesn't suck and don't worry about the business of it. Sheeze, you're presumably doing what you love...if the promoters are up your ass about how much you're making, finsh your shitty contract with them and do shit yourself . I swear, if the industry doesn't evolve past needing middlemen then it deserves to die.

  4. Sorry - just noticed I got this wrong!!!

It was 1st Jan 2001 House of Blues. Any video exist?

Audio exists. Proshot video is rumored to exist but nobody knows anybody who has seen it.

There WAS a pro videography crew there (I was standing next to one of em...they had the ability to walk back and forth between the stage and the barrier from the GA crowd) There was a cd of the show (VERY poor quality) which was leaked a month or so after the show. It was before everyone had a video recorder on their phones, and security was really tight (they told us Axl would leave if he saw a camera, and, incidentally, the hotel wouldn't let us sit down while we were in line for the show..looked bad in their casino, I suppose) which explains the lack of media covering the show.

  5. These are smaller venues. It's much different to wear a tophat at the Forum then at a 3,000 seat standing room only venue.

Guaranteed it's Axl's rules. He has always done this stuff. He did it at House of Blues in 2000. They confiscated cameras. Security told me personally Axl said he would stop the show with a camera.

In 2001 they had Slash removed.

Axl is a complete control freak and I would be highly surprised if the venue security gave a rat's ass about an Appetite for Destruction T-Shirt....Axl controls everything.

I remember they made a big deal about cameras on 1-1-01, but I also remember the Mandalay Bay security wasn't going to let us sit down while we were waiting in line....very much venue enforced.
