  1. Talk about sensationalist crap! Set back 20 years? What planet do you live on? In reality, this was a well received opening build-up to the full special.

Exactly! The last time the American public actually saw GNR on stage was in 2002. I'm willing to bet that added a lot to the hate the new band gets (I rather enjoyed that line-up myself at the time though). This was a chance for everyone to see the PHENOMENAL musicians in the band and that they are not a joke. I really didn't expect it to be this good. I was pleasantly surprised and hope a Blu Ray or DVD is released (hopefully with a 5 song EP of new songs:)

  2. Best Movie With A GNR Song - Terminator 2

Best Use of A GNR Song Within A Movie - I can't decide between The Wrestler or Body of Lies (Both are used phenomenally)

My Personal Favorite Movie With A GNR Song In It - Step Brothers (Not Performed By GNR of Course)

Wasn't WTTJ in the intro to Dale and Tucker VS Evil?

  3. Got my Chicago tix!! See all you rowdy motherfuckers there!! rock3

    Same here! Overjoyed.

Anyone know if GA Balcony 1 is the best section? Not sure if the GA sections are separated or if that's just how they organize the sale.

Where, I can't get on LiveNation... Passcode is Electronic???

Me and my sis couldn't get them at first, either. You're right - the password is Electronic. Instead of "Any Price," try selecting the actual cost on the main page and see if it goes through that way. I tried that and it made the difference for me.

No luck tried like 100 times :(

I wonder is it sold out already? I will overpay on stubhub if I have to!

The password was "electronic" without the quotes of course. It seems they may have sold out of this batch, as I tried to see what tickets are available now and the system can't find any.

  4. Anyway, to download that "Tonto," clip on the fly? I would record it on the fly, but I don't have my stuff hooked up. Also, it was indeed one of the titles listed by MSL.

  5. Here's What I'm Running

    Fender Twin Reverb Reissue

    Danelectro - Reel Echo

    Morpheus DropTune

    Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer

    Ibanez TS9DX Tube Screamer

    Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer

    Ibanez TS808HW Tube Screamer

    Boss AC3 - Acoustic Simulator

Dunlop SW-95 Crybaby Slash Wah Pedal

    Boss TU-3 Chromatic Tuner

I literally have all the tube screamers hooked up at the same time, each tuned in differently. I switch between my Stevie Ray Fender Stratocaster and an Epiphone Les Paul.

I love TS's. Using a Tube Screamer (or any OD pedal) as an additional channel is an awesome strategy. I prefer using a Nobels ODR S or the CM 2 for that purpose.

I love the Nobels, unlike other tubescreamer wannabes, this green guy seems to have an unique personality (and a nice 3 band EQ ). Too bad the jacks aren't placed sideways...

This is the normal, single-tone knob version. 4:43 Slaves And Bulldozers rock3

Say... is the hand wired version THAT superior compared to the stock pedal? it sure is way more expensive...

Jerry Cantrell's been using one lately:

Sorry about the late response. The TS808HW is not that superior. There is a slight difference in tone, but not much. In fact, I just bought it to see what all the fuss was about and was going to return it after a week or so. I ended up liking it so much that I kept it. Same with the Morpheus DropTune. The fact that it comes with that GIGANTIC metal box as a case doesn't help with the price much. It should be priced closer to the other models in my opinion.

  6. Thank you everyone involved for making this a great forum. I've been coming here since 2002. I remember the first time I even heard of Chinese Democracy (The Album) and I followed its progress here. A lot of ups and downs, but I will miss it. I'm glad I stuck in long enough for the album the come out.

  7. I think Guitar Pro is worth the money. I've been using it since (2005?) I think I got it back then and kept upgrading. It's great for finding parts of songs that your having trouble with or even whole songs. Not only can you use the Guitar Pro files and PowerTabs, but also import most MIDIS. I've even used it for creating my own sheet music that is used for my guitar students.

  9. Yeah, I'm looking forward to Duke Nukem Forever. I haven't played the first 1 in about 10 years. I'm thinking about downloading it on Xbox Live.

For some reason I'm currently in a retro gaming phase. I bought about 50 new NES, Genesis, Super NES games and a Sega Master System Power Base Converter.

  10. A shitload of great music from then. Dion was probably one of my favorites. Dude had has a great voice!

This is probably my favorite era of music. I was actually able to see Dion perform about 4 years ago. He was really good. The concert that really blew me away was Jerry Lee Lewis in 2009. Just a phenomenal old school rock and roll show. It was great!

As a side note, in a previous post someone mentioned they like Marvin Berry and The Starlighters. That is actually the fake band that plays during The Enchantment Under The Sea in Back To The Future. I'm not slamming or anything, I just thought that was funny. I love that version of Earth Angel.
