  1. They really like CD. It really has the most "original GNR" sound to it. Not that thats what I prefer, cause I really, really love the new stuff !!

I think alot of people are wrongly judging (be it in a positive way or not) "Chinese Democracy" on the live versions that they/we have heard, i don't beleive there will be the same intro on the studio version as on the live one as a kick off.

We have to look at the evidence - all we have in terms of a near-studio sound of "Chinese Democracy" is the 2002 Promo(s).

Now if the finished version of "Chinese Democracy" is anything like it is on the 2002 Promo, it will sound quite different from it's live counterpart.

Axl's voice on the promo sounded distorted and the song (allbeit judging it based on a few seconds of it) had a very industrial arrangement about it.

I think the finished version (if anything like the promo clip) will pleasantly surprise alot of people on these boards as a decent kick-ass track, i feel it has alot of potential and i'm sure it will raise a few eyebrows.

Are you fucking serious? Have you NOT been paying attention? Did you not see that a NEAR STUDIO(if not studio quality) version of CHIENSE DEMOCRACY was leaked only days ago?

  2. Definately doesn't look good for the home team. I'm starting to feel like a fool for swearing up and down everywhere i went that this year was the year.

    Such a shame. *sigh*

  3. As the lyrics go, Axl Rose sings, "I'm just sitting here staring at your hair, and it's reminding me of a warm, safe place where as a child I'd hide."

    the lyrics are:

Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place

Where as a child I'd hide

    :lol::lol: !!..

I dont know how the dude could of possibly came to the conclusion that..thats what the lyrics are..

if he acutally listened to the song..

    that just sounds so gay!!..

"Im just sitting here staring at your hair."..

    .. :rofl-lol::rofl-lol:

    eh..

    about the article..

I dont know what to say.. :book:

    Maybe he meant..

"I wish my name was really claire".. ?

Or maybe he was trying to put it into a more literal sense, as if it's what the guy is thinking in his head as he's sitting with his girl.

Christ, you people never fail to amaze me.

  4. I read the recent column article on the "official" site, and i had to chuckle at the disgusting remark the author made towards those who criticize the band through online forum. He had the audacity to state that the "real" fans are the ones enjoying the band live, and they are ultimately the "true" fans.

That's nice, considering i'm 3,000 miles from the states and don't have the casual luxery of seeing them live, just on a whim. Guess i'm not a true fan because although i love the music, i refuse to spend 2,000 dollars for a concert that i cannot guarantee Axl to even show up to.

What a fucking moron that man is, and i especially love what this band is turning into: A Joke, and EXCUSE.

Dude, they'll come to your country and you'll pay to see the show.

Actually, i'm an American living in Japan right now.

  6. Well, this has been stupid.

Same old boring "Appetite" set list that they've been using since '02.

    What a joke.

They may as well just call this tour the "Appetite For Us Playing the same setlist over and over again" tour.

I'm out for the night. Take it easy.

Congratulations Sabbra_Cadabra for setting your people back hundreds of years.

And by "my people" i assume that you believe me to to be Japanese(simply by my profile location)?

I believe it was a Family Guy reference...

EDIT: and I just saw Allen's post confirming that. Good quote, my friend!

Forgive me. I don't care for the show, nor do i watch it.

  8. I think BBF explained all that either in an interview or that online chat he did. IIRC, he basically said there were talks, he posted about it on his site, the shit spread like wildfire and fucked everything up at that time, but it all worked out in the end.

It makes more sense now. From what i originally gathered back in May, they sort of just picked bumblefoot up out of nowhere just before the Hammerstein shows. At least that was the impression i got.

I had no idea talks of him joining the band dated back that far, which makes the recent decision to hire him clearer.

    Thanks for the links!

  9. and i quote, from the Axl Rose official statement section:

There were rumors that GNR was auditioning a new guitarist to replace Buckethead, and one musician, Bumblefoot, even posted on his site that he had been asked to join the band. This created a huge debate on the internet, prompting GNR's management to issue a statement on Oct. 12, 2004.

The statement said Bumblefoot had not been asked to join, but offered no update on the album's release.

    Here's the press release:

    GN'R Set the Record Straight

    12 October 2004

    Business Wire

© 2004 Business Wire. All Rights Reserved.

NEW YORK - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Oct. 12, 2004 - There have been numerous reports over the last few weeks from various sources claiming that one person or another has been invited to join Guns N' Roses. To set the record straight no one - we repeat no one - has been invited to join the band. We would normally not respond to rumours but it is wrong to allow a few self publicists the platform to mislead the media and Guns N' Roses fans. We will let you know when there is credible news on this subject. "

Is there any information i can read on about this subject? I do recall Ron Thal mentioning that the decision to hire him was a last minute deal, however rumours of him joining the band when buckethead hit the highway go back nearly 2 years. What's the deal? Clarification, please?

  10. "Sorry"? hmm... what's doom metal?

It's pretty heavy. Kinda gloomy. Has a sludgish sound to it. Can cross over into other genres such as black and death at times.

But I doubt it really is like doom metal. I can't believe Axl would make something like that. Unless he means the more mainstream version of doom - which isn't as heavy.

Ever heard of a band called Trouble? They started as a christian Doom metal band, but latter records proved them well adept to a more heavy/grunge/hard-rock sound, with Plastic Green Head and what i consider their most valiant and successful effort, Manic Frustration.

Doom is pretty cool if done the right way. There are still doomy elements in the above mentioned albums, but with more of a "rock and roll" twist to them. Just check out the song "The Eye", from PGH. It's a heavy fucking song.

The circle represents: Heaven and Earth - Self Completion - No Start and No Finish.

The Pedals represent: Longevity and Prosperity.

It is often used as a background to Okinawan family crests, mitsudomo [sic]. Okinawa, Ryu Kyu Islands were heavily influenced by China during the Japanese take over. Several Karate styles / cultures were brought back from Chinese Kung (Gung) Fu. in order to defend themselves.

Later on a Communist Revolution (Which I believe was the Peoples Republic of China) took over China and the Chinese government fled to the place we now Call Taiwan, which they believe that still believe is China. The Fake Communist government took over and forced their way on to the UN security Council as one of the permanent 5 members due to the fact that they had control of large amounts of Nuclear weapons. The former Government/Taiwan is waiting until the day when a Revolution occurs and that both China's (Taiwan Considers its self the rightfully Named China) can converge under a true representative democracy.

The Album name Chinese Democracy still will carry the weight that it would have ten years ago because nothing has changed regarding the situation.

Wouldn't you know it, i'm living on Okinawa right now. Beautiful place it is. Work here sucks, though.

  12. A part of me doesn't want to believe it, but i've got a big feeling that as a result of their lack of promotion or effort into the name Guns N' Roses, this tour is about to flop and Axl Rose will disappear again for a very long time...

  13. Anyone know a way i could download this video? I have a really low quality video of it with a different ending(the cameras zoom in on a bunch of people in the crowd going nuts at the end), and i've been waiting for a high quality version to show up.
